Alfonso was a spectacular host. We booked 2 days with him before we were to join a group tour starting in Palermo. Prior to our arrival, he sent us emails on how to get from the Ferry Terminal to his location, and made a number of suggestions for "must-see" sights in the Palermo. He helped us arrange for tickets at the Teatro dei Pupi (puppet theater), which is a short walk from Ai Tre Mercati, and provided advice about seating and tickets for the symphony at the Teatro Politeama Garibaldi. He also provided suggestions for restaurants, churches and cathedrals, and museums. We traveled from Napoli to Palermo on the overnight ferry, and Alfonso welcomed us at 8:30 AM with breakfast. He puts a lot of energy into breakfast, and we had juice, fresh fruit, Cappuccino, and OUTSTANDING PASTRIES. He gets his pastries fresh early each morning from a local artisanal baker, and the assortment of both savory and sweet is very very good. When we were unable to finish everything, he insisted that we take the rest to our room "for snacks". Although this was meant to be a brief "pre-trip" prior to joining a group, we were sad to leave. The accomodations were excellent, and Alfonso makes a terrific tour guide. He is very proud of his city, and shares his enthusiasm generously. We would have been happy to stay longer at Ai Tre Mercati.

Nothing. Everything was perfect.

Set in a wonderful palazzo through a secret door and courtyard, you’ll find Ai Tre Mercati - clean, welcoming, large rooms, excellent bathroom and a perfect host in Alfonso, who couldn’t do enough to make my stay great. As I had to leave before breakfast, Alfonso made sure I had two whole trays of pastries and savouries ready for the next morning. He also put all of the places he thought I would want to see into my phone on Google maps, making exploring easy. Only a few minutes walk from the train station too.

Not really a negative but there was some street noise during the night, however, it’s Palermo - a busy, bustling, lively city so what do you expect? Thats the only thing I can say as everything else was great and positive.

Alfonso is so friendly and took time to explain the most important sights in Palermo. He was always available to answer questions. His restaurant recommendations were wonderful, including fantastic pizza and cocktails at Nojo. The location is perfect, right in the center of town on the main Via Maqueda pedestrian street but also on a quieter end (with great Bengali eateries all around!). The rooms are spacious with nice bathrooms and the elevator is good for less mobile people (but also a very easy walk up stairs to the first floor). We loved Palermo and would definitely stay here again.

Nothing not to like!

Laura was there to greet us when we arrived and explain the set up. Very happy that we were handed keys, unlike some accommodation, where keys were located elsewhere, complicating matters. The size of the bedroom was quite large. A very pleasant surprise. The location is convenient to shops and restaurants, The accommodation is well secured. Very generous selection of pastries, cereal, yoghurt and fruit also offered. Hot drinks of choice - we had cappuccino and Alfonso offered to prepare more if we were to ask for another.

We were very happy and have no complains. The host and hostess did a wonderful job. Will definitely recommend Ai TRe Mercati to friends visiting Palermo. We will definitely be staying here if we visit Palermo again.

The breakfast was the biggest surprise to us because Alfonso provided a true Sicilian breakfast which was absolutely fantastic. What we couldn’t manage Alfonso gave us a packed lunch for us to have on our travels during the day. The property was as close as you would get to the old centre of Palermo. Alfonso also was a mine of Information about what to see in the city and where to eat.

A small point, but a chair in the room would have been useful as we had to sit on the bed.I expect that if we had asked, we would have had one!

The location was perfect, we had come from Acquedolci so to get from the train station and then back again to travel to the airport was great and easy. Alfonso spent time with us after welcoming us with coffee, cold drinks and delicious pastries. He explained the area, saved locations on my google maps and was super helpful and welcoming. The room was large , modern and clean, bed was firm but comfortable. There is a tiny balcony overlooking the street, you can open and shut the shutters easily. The bathroom was large and clean and the shower great after a long day exploring in the heat. Although our stay was short I would def recommend and return. We felt safe and secure in the area. Thank you Alfonso you are a fabulous host.

The location was easily reachable by foot from the main train station, located in the middle of the main pedestrian axe right in the city centre. The breakfast provided by Alfonso every day was delicious with fresh salt and sweet pastry, local fruits from the market and yoghurt with some muesli. Alfonso provided wonderful touristic and food places recommendations upon arrival and was easy to communicate with. The room and bathroom were clean, had a fridge and a wardrobe.

It was easy to hear people in the breakfast zone from the room, but it was not disturbing at all.

Alfonso is a great host, easy to communicate with and he provided us with lots of information about the city and interesting places to visit. Because of the central location of the B&B, all main sights are within comfortable walking distance. The room was spacious with comfortable beds and a well working airconditioning. Every morning, we received an Italian breakfast consisting of a selection of pastries. Good to know: breakfast starts around 9AM, earlier was not possible, but when we had to leave early Alfonso did provide us with a smaller breakfast package.

Being in the centre of the city, even though the windows are soundproofed, there was quite some noise from the streets during the night, especially on Saturday night. Earplugs are therefore needed.

Our host Alfonso made this the PERFECT place to stay. He sat down with us on arrival and showed us all the places we should see and even put them in my Google Maps. We would not have seen a third of what we did were it not for him. The location is perfect and everything is within a 15 minute walk. Alfonso even made reservations for us at his restaurant. Breakfasts were amazing as Alfonso had freshly made sweet and savory pastries, fruits, and any coffee you like. Or time in palermo was maximized simply by staying at Ai Tre Mercati!

The property located at center of the tourist attractions. Very convenient. The place was decorated well and neat. Shower hot water temperature is very comfortable. The owner was very friendly. And he provided us the pastries from 1099 years old bakery. Delicious. And tea and coffee were so delicious. He also spent a lot of time to tell us where to visit, and good places to eat.

A Room seems a little small, after we 4 suitcases, not much room left. The color of the wardrobe looked scary to me, we did not use it. There was a dumpster right below our window. We did want to open windows. When I booked it from booking.com, I did not know it was a bed and breakfast. When we arrived, found it was a home, we were nervous. The owner’s hospitality eased us.
