Awesome stay! Incredibly convenient to the bus/train station, Quattro Canti and the Ballaro street markets. Property was on a quiet street just a block off Via Maqueda. Absolutely wonderful hostess (Mariella) let us drop our bags early and welcomed us with an espresso (which I needed after a long bus ride from Siracusa). Our room was spotless and well appointed, beds were very comfortable, and breakfast the next day was amazing - so much to choose from and all homemade!

The larger Ballaro neighborhood felt a little rough around the edges, but the small street of Vicolo Chiarandà was incredibly clean and quiet, as was Vicolo del Romito (which our little balcony looked out over).

Ballaròoms - A charming, modern B&B tucked away on a quit side street just a short walk from the train station, the city center, and the vibrant Mercato di Ballarò. The location is perfect, peaceful, yet close to everything. The heart of this place is Mariella, a warm, attentive and passionate host with Sicilian roots. Every morning she prepares a lovingly breakfast with homemade local specialities, fresh coffee and always takes the time for a friendly chat. She genuinley cares about her guests. The communication with her is easy and she´s always available if you have questions or need recommendations. The double room I stayed in was spacious, bright, simply furnished, and yet had everything you need. I had a private bathroom, which was located separately in the hallway right next to the room. Everything was always clean, and super comfortable! If you are looking for a place in Palermo that feels personal, welcoming and full of local charm you will feel right at home there!

It is obvious why the rating here was so high! A fantastic, immaculately clean and super modern room in the heart of Palermo. Tucked in a quiet alleyway just off the main street, Via Maqueda and close to all the sights- the location was unbeatable. Walkable to everything but just tucked away enough so that you have peace and quiet for sleeping, a common complaint at other properties in the hustle and bustle of the city. The host, Mariella, is so friendly and charismatic and absolutely made our stay. She is always available to help with information or recommendations and puts on an incredible homemade breakfast spread with plenty of both savoury and sweet options, coffee and juices. It was a pleasure to stay here and I would not hesitate to recommend booking if you are considering! The air conditioning also worked extremely well in the peak of summer, which was a welcome relief on a 40° day we had

Mariella, the property owner/host, is FANTASTIC! She is very communicative and helpful and will do anything to make guests happy and comfortable. She welcomed us with a Sicilian dessert (which I forget the name of) and made a fantastic breakfast for us. We had some trouble finding the proper entrance to the main apartment door from the ground level but she was accessible and we FaceTimed and she guided us to the proper door around the corner. The room itself was nicely decorated, spacious, and functional, and the location was quite good to the local markets, sights, churches, and piazzas.

We found the mattress to be a bit firm, but this was our experience throughout Sicily. Maybe we are just used to having a boxspring and softer mattresses. Also, the common hallway and our external (but personal) bathroom was quite warm due to no ventilation or cooling of the common area. It was late July, so having those areas that warm wasn't ideal. This wouldn't hold us back from staying again, though.

We stayed just one night in Palermo but had a great experience. The host was kind and attentive, making sure everything was comfortable and welcoming. The homemade breakfast was a lovely touch, especially the fresh cakes. The location is excellent—close to the lively city center, local markets, and both the train and bus stations, which was very convenient. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and everything was well maintained. We were also able to store our luggage after check-out, which was a big help. Highly recommend this place for anyone visiting Palermo, even for a short stay!

Mariella is an amazing host! We love her personality, and she made us feel welcomed and right at home. Her breakfast is delicious, with home-made sweet and salty options. Is like having a brunch for breakfast! The room itself was clean and cosy with a comfortable bed and 4 pillows. The location is just a few min walking from the train station. We arrived before check-in time and were able to get the room early. We had the possibility to leave the luggage even after check out. I will recommend it to anyone going to Palermo to stay here!

Everything you read about the host is completely true. She is amazing, friendly, helpful and a wonderful baker. She produces most of the breakfast items and happily tells you about her recipes. The room was great, big bathroom, clean and comfy. The BnB is about 10 minutes from the main train station and about 10 minutes from the old town and all the people. There is a fun market about 200m behind the BnB. This is a fabulous place to stay and learn about Palermo. I wish we could have had more time there.

The host was lovely and welcoming. She prepared breakfast for us, and it was amazing—better than what you'd find in some hotels. Her homemade pizza, jams, and cake were all delicious. The cakes weren’t too sweet, so we enjoyed every bite. The location is perfect—within walking distance to the main attractions as well as the bus and train stations. The house itself is charming, and we especially loved the glass roof that let in sunlight throughout the day.

It would have been even better if the toilet was in the same room as the bedroom for added convenience.

The room, location and breakfast was simply perfect. Mariella is an amazing host who takes a good care of the guests. She makes your stay comfortable and delicious. I will never forget these lemon cookies ;) Room is very clean and quite spacious. It’s really close to the center and all the monuments you should see during the stay. Mariella prepares a delicious breakfast every day and tries to serve typical sicilian food. She provides also some tourist guides in the room and of course lots of information about the Palermo and other close cities.

Mariella was really lovely, she also helped me as I got a taxi from the airport who tried to charge me more money and felt a bit dodgy as a solo female traveller - she spoke to them on the phone and made me feel a lot safer in that situation. The B&B is in a fab location, close to the central station (5 mins) and close to all of the historic centre. Also the breakfast was lovely! I also slept very well, the bed was very comfy. Would definitely stay here again and recommend to any other solo female :)
