Our host Andrea and his wife and family have created a beautiful gem of a Guest House in the heart of the frenetic city of Palermo. It feels like a home from home. The interior design room and decoration is stunning. The facilities were excellent and it even smells lovely. Don't be fooled by the rustic entrance and noisy colourful area, once you enter the guest house it is a real haven of comfort. It was a highlight to have breakfast on the gorgeous patio area and have home made delicacies as made by Andrea's family who also run a restaurant. Andrea's was such a fabulously friendly, kind and helpful host who we looked forward to chatting with and went over and above to help us. Him and his family are the perfect example of hospitality at its best. We loved it.

The terrace and the view from it are very nice. Noise isolation from other rooms is very good - nothing is heard from other rooms. The shared kitchen is very clean and modern with all the necessary equipment. The property in general is very modest and with exceptionally placed interior details that represent Sicilia and Palermo. The room itself is spacious, has everything needed, including a direct exit to the property terrace. The host is very friendly and helpful!

Street noise is loud and constantly heard throughout the night and day. So it isn’t for light sleepers.

A great guest house in Palermo! Spotlessly clean, excellent shower, comfortable bed and very close to the heart of Palermo and the train/bus station. Andrea was a superb host who was there every morning to provide fresh coffee and baked goods. Can’t fault any of it and I’ve recommended the guest house to friends and family who are planning on visiting Palermo! On a side note, there’s a great restaurant about 2 minutes walk away (Trattoria Calessino). The pasta was superb!

Our stay at this guest house in Palermo was absolutely outstanding. The room we booked was spacious, tastefully decorated, and immaculately clean. The modern bathroom added a touch of luxury, and the bed and pillows were exceptionally comfortable. We opted for breakfast, our lovely host Andrea made the best cappuccino! The location is another major plus: just around the corner from the train station, which made our airport transfer stress-free, and within easy walking distance of Palermo’s historical centre and main sights. Despite the busy streets nearby, the atmosphere inside the guest house was serene and quiet.

As a teacher, I’m usually cautious about giving a perfect score; after all, a 10 implies there’s no room for improvement. But in this case, I didn’t hesitate for a second to give this guest house the 10 it truly deserves. There is absolutely nothing I can suggest in terms of improvement; every detail was spot-on.

It's literally a diamond in the rough. The location could not be better, a short walk from the central train station. The host, a charming local, made an excellent breakfast, served on an airy terrace. The place was clean and well maintained. His communication regarding our stay made everything easy. He also volunteered to hold our luggage the day of our departure so we could explore the Bollaro market (only a block away) before our train was scheduled.

Fantastic stay in the heart of Palermo. The guest house was such good value for money! Such a beautiful space that was really big! Gorgeous styling of the room. Breakfast was really good with a lovely assortment of local pastries, with a great coffee! The location really is so good for sight seeing, easily reached by foot. We were able to park our car out the front on the street which was fine, but you need to purchase a ZTL pass which we did via the app. The area feels a little sketchy as your 1 block up, but honestly was not an issue at all!

The room was very large and comfortable. The guy working there was very communicative beforehand and when I arrived and he made sure I could get my breakfast a bit earlier than usual. He was very friendly and made me feel very welcome. The location is in a very lively neighbourhood with the market to explore. It is also very close to the railway and bus station, which is helpful if you have to catch connections.

The area feels a little dodgy at night, even though the guy working there assured me it was definitely safe and I didn't encounter any problems.

Ideally located for experiencing the heart of Palermo. Our room was large, with a separate private seating area and fridge as well as a private bathroom with shower. The bed was large and very comfortable - we slept well! All facilities were modern and spotlessly clean, but in a traditional Palermo apartment. Our host was very friendly and offered plenty of advice on what to do and see, as well as chatting more generally about the city. We arrived early on the train from Rome, and because I contacted the host in advance we were really pleased to be able to get into our room at midday rather than the 3.00pm check in. Breakfast savouries and pastries cooked fresh every morning and served with coffee.

Nothing. As other guests have said, stray too far in the wrong direction from the property and the area is not so good - but once we settled in we found our way around in the areas that were safe for tourists.

I chose this place for the proximity to the central bus station which was only a 5min walk away. Easy if you're coming from Palermo airport by bus with luggage. There is also a lift in the building which I appreciated as I had a heavy bag. It's just on the edge of the historic old town in the Ballaro district which is famous for the Ballaro market. I loved how easy it was to walk to all the main sights. The room was incredibly spacious with a separate sitting room area that had a sofa. Everything was beautifully done up and the bed was comfortable. The B&B had a lovely terrace to sit out on and have breakfast at. Andrea, the B&B host, was also super kind and helpful and breakfast was great.

The Ballaro district is a bit quiet at night. I didn't feel so comfortable walking around at night, but I managed by sticking to the main roads once it got dark.

Ballaro Guest House is located a few minutes walk from Palermo central station, which was exactly what we needed since we had to get up early to catch the first train to the airport. In fact, our host Andrea told us that rush hour in Palermo was horrendous, so our initial plan to take a bus to the airport would have been a poor choice. The guest house is newly renovated, our room was massive and the bathroom impeccable. We missed out on the breakfast because of our early departure, but overall we were very happy with our stay there.

Being close to the central station the guest house is a good choice for the train and bus links. The street itself however is fairly run down, and the neighborhood doesn't feel entirely safe and welcoming. Whether you like it or not probably depends on how adventurous you are.
