Fantastic stay in the heart of Palermo. The guest house was such good value for money! Such a beautiful space that was really big! Gorgeous styling of the room. Breakfast was really good with a lovely assortment of local pastries, with a great coffee! The location really is so good for sight seeing, easily reached by foot. We were able to park our car out the front on the street which was fine, but you need to purchase a ZTL pass which we did via the app. The area feels a little sketchy as your 1 block up, but honestly was not an issue at all!

The room was very large and comfortable. The guy working there was very communicative beforehand and when I arrived and he made sure I could get my breakfast a bit earlier than usual. He was very friendly and made me feel very welcome. The location is in a very lively neighbourhood with the market to explore. It is also very close to the railway and bus station, which is helpful if you have to catch connections.

The area feels a little dodgy at night, even though the guy working there assured me it was definitely safe and I didn't encounter any problems.

Ideally located for experiencing the heart of Palermo. Our room was large, with a separate private seating area and fridge as well as a private bathroom with shower. The bed was large and very comfortable - we slept well! All facilities were modern and spotlessly clean, but in a traditional Palermo apartment. Our host was very friendly and offered plenty of advice on what to do and see, as well as chatting more generally about the city. We arrived early on the train from Rome, and because I contacted the host in advance we were really pleased to be able to get into our room at midday rather than the 3.00pm check in. Breakfast savouries and pastries cooked fresh every morning and served with coffee.

Nothing. As other guests have said, stray too far in the wrong direction from the property and the area is not so good - but once we settled in we found our way around in the areas that were safe for tourists.

I chose this place for the proximity to the central bus station which was only a 5min walk away. Easy if you're coming from Palermo airport by bus with luggage. There is also a lift in the building which I appreciated as I had a heavy bag. It's just on the edge of the historic old town in the Ballaro district which is famous for the Ballaro market. I loved how easy it was to walk to all the main sights. The room was incredibly spacious with a separate sitting room area that had a sofa. Everything was beautifully done up and the bed was comfortable. The B&B had a lovely terrace to sit out on and have breakfast at. Andrea, the B&B host, was also super kind and helpful and breakfast was great.

The Ballaro district is a bit quiet at night. I didn't feel so comfortable walking around at night, but I managed by sticking to the main roads once it got dark.

Ballaro Guest House is located a few minutes walk from Palermo central station, which was exactly what we needed since we had to get up early to catch the first train to the airport. In fact, our host Andrea told us that rush hour in Palermo was horrendous, so our initial plan to take a bus to the airport would have been a poor choice. The guest house is newly renovated, our room was massive and the bathroom impeccable. We missed out on the breakfast because of our early departure, but overall we were very happy with our stay there.

Being close to the central station the guest house is a good choice for the train and bus links. The street itself however is fairly run down, and the neighborhood doesn't feel entirely safe and welcoming. Whether you like it or not probably depends on how adventurous you are.

The property is extremely well located for getting into the city centre and only 5 mins from the train station. It is situated within an apartment block just off the Main Street. The host was very kind and allowed us to check in early with us pleasantly surprised with the room. It was very spacious and had a decent shower/bathroom. You also have the added benefit of a shared lounge/kitchen and balcony area. Cannot fault the property which was very well priced and would not hesitate to return

The B&B is very close to the central station and bus terminal, and also right next to the lively Mercato Ballarò. It's very convenient to explore the city. The flat itself is well-equipped and cozy as well. And the host is very attentive and responsive. If you need any information just ask him. He's been so supportive and you can tell his passion running the B&B. And the breakfast in the beautiful terrace is just amazing. We really felt like home.

It is an old building but recently and beautifully renovated. The result is large rooms with thick walls, high ceilings, and beautiful patterned tiles complemented by a modern bathroom and air conditioning. It is family run and everyone was friendly and helpful. Our flight was delayed, we arrived well after midnight and they were very nice about it all.

The area is in the heart of Palermo and the surroundings may put some people off. However, we did not witness anything that worried us in any way. It is a few minutes away from the central bus and train station and that could save you from needing taxis which are notoriously expensive in Palermo.

We stayed for 4 nights and used Palermo as a base for northwest Sicily. The B and B is very convenient - close to the Palermo station, Ballaro Market and Via Maqueda (Quattro Canti and beyond). A little gritty, multiethnic area, we found it safe coming home very late at night. Andrea was a great host, served us a variety of baked goods for breakfast, and Donatella even gave us a nice little ceramic for a parting gift. The refrigerator in the breakfast area is full of drinks and fruits free to partake anytime. The bed was the most comfortable we had in all the B and B we stayed in Sicily. They allowed us to store our luggage after check out until our trip that evening.

One weekend evening, our sleep was unfortunately interrupted by karaoke at 3 am from somewhere else in the building.

It is a very nice and modernly furnished place. We had big bedroom and kind of guest room with the couch and table there - Very spacious! We used condition from the guest room - so we were sleeping comfortably when it was really hot outside. Hosts are hospitable, amiable and very helpful. Delicious breakfast was served with different types of home baked cakes, coffee and fruits. Big kitchen with all needed cutleries, plates, glasses, and fridge which can be used. 3 minutes by walking from the main train and bus stations. 10 minutes by walking to Quattro Canti. From which you can walk everywhere.

I wouldn’t say that is what we didn’t like, but in the night time this last part of via Maqueda, about last 300 meters to the place, wasn’t looked so safe I would say. Nothing dangerous happend, even not any sign of it. But for the last 5 minutes of walking I had to be a bit more attentive than usually. But this is kind of South Italy specific I guess.
