We have stayed in this B&B before. It is wonderful. The owners are so friendly and helpful. The property itself is in an excellent location in the centre of the city. It is full of charm, including the stairs - this was an old tower, and therefore there is no room for a lift. The rooms are spacious and clean and the bed was comfortable. We call this property quirky - very different, but very interesting and comfortable. Whilst some reviewers moan about the fact that breakfast is provided in the bar next door i stead of onsite,, we were happy with it, given that it was served out on the bars patio by a very friendly server, and was plentiful for us, consisting of a toasted ham & cheese sandwich, juice and coffee. For people like us who don't like a large breakfast, this was perfect. Many thanks Paulo. This was our second 2-night visit. We will definitely stay here again.

The hotel was well located at Piazza Duomo but it was not closed to the train station to walk with any suitcase. It was a historical charming place without any lift. Fortunately Paolo was very kind bringing my medium & small luggages both up upon arrival & down upon checking out. He was very helpful explaining Pavia in detail. Simple croissant & coffee breakfast were included during my 3 nights stay, from 8-10. The first morning, the cafe did not open until 8:50 AM! The second morning & third morning it was open around 8:10.

Historic property located in one of Pavia’s towers (in this case maybe truncated, but certainly a tower), overlooking the Duomo and its Piazza. The owners live in a separate property close by, so ask guests to let them know when they will arrive (in our case we told them late morning, and then ‘phoned when we set off walking from the train station). None of this was a problem: we were met by a friendly and helpful lady who spoke good English, showed us the facilities, gave us a set of keys and assured us she was on hand if needed. She also gave us some tips on what to see, and we were particular grateful to be told about the University library, dating back to the time of Maria Theresa, barely mentioned in my otherwise excellent guide book, and very well worth seeing ! The room was lovely: furnished with antiques, spotlessly clean, and with a comfortable bed, spacious bathroom and a lovely view. Breakfast was in a bar just a few yards away for which vouchers were provided: it was good if more meagre than we are used to, but certainly adequate. The lady we met on arrival gave us a list of places to eat in the evening: these were good if on the pricey side, but we found a very nice and inexpensive trattoria for lunch also. Pavia is beautiful, and easily accessible by suburban train S13 from Milan. We went primarily to see the Certosa (bus 175 from the bus station, in front of and to the left of the train station). This did not disappoint, but there is also a lot to see in Pavia itself, including Romanesque churches, a Castello with the city’s art collection and the University. The latter comprises a series of 18th century courts, not unlike an Oxbridge college, and the library where we were welcomed free of charge.

No criticisms at all. It would have been nice to have breakfast on the premises, but clearly that was not possible. The location was superb , we were very comfortable and had a very enjoyable stay.

The location of the b&b is superb - right next to the duomo in the middle of the city center. My room was beautifully decorated, spacious and warm. It felt like home. The bed was extremely comfy. The staff was very helpful and friendly. I would stay here again any time.

Not surprising for an old building, there is no elevator and the staircase is very narrow.

Great location in the Piazza - so much to do, so much to see in Pavia. Our room was very comfortable and our host could not have been any more accomodating. Our stay was for 2 nights and we were more than happy with our choice staying here. The restaurants were great and many to choose from -- everything in walking distance. The train station is very close, easily walkable, as is all of the city.

The staff were exceptionally helpful. Check in was very easy and at a time that suited us. They let us leave our luggage in the property after we checked out, (even though this is an apartment type accommodation and the staff had to come from another building when we wished to collect it). Our room was large, and had great views of the Cathedral and the square in front if it. It was clean.

Breakfast was in the bar next door and was very basic.

Great, central position right across the main cathedral of Pavia. Super markets, cafes, bars and restaurants in walking distance. Charming, historic building with rooms on 4 floors. Nice, personal welcome by the owner on Sunday afternoon, who showed me my apartment on the upper floor that had a bed on an estrade with a marvelous view on the roofs of the city and the hills beyond. The rooms were very unique, equipped with a mixture of antiques and practical, modern furnishings. I found the apartment very clean, tidy and well equipped with refrigerator/minibar, bathroom, shower cabin, TV and internet. Absolutely great stay and highly recommended!

Nothing to complain about.

I liked the that as a guest you get a voucher to go to a local bar for real Italian breakfast consisting of a brioche and an amazing espresso or other type of coffee as preferred. Staying local, eating local.

Maybe one tiny point was the matras which felt rather older and harder. In itself not a problem but it was a little bit lumpy making sleeping a bit more uncomfortable. But this is a small point only.

Staff were really lovely and very helpful. The location was perfect, right in the centre and on the main square. Beds were super, got a great nights sleep. If you are driving, book the parking! We had a great space opposite the hotel which saved us a walk on cobbles from the car parks. Fab place and a friendly welcome!

Stairs were a bit tricky for my father but I should have checked this out before booking. The building is an old tower so quite understandably there is no lift.

It is a small property overlooking the Duomo and main sqaure. It is essentially a bed (and breakfast). The gentleman who booked us in was very helpful, with information on Pavia.
