A genuinely exceptional place to stay in Pavia. Location is a short walk from the station, perhaps 15 minutes to the pleasant town centre. Villa Marisa is an aesthetic delight - books everywhere! This was especially appreciated by our son, who had an essay to write for uni... As a family of 3 we had a room with two large double beds separated by a curtain, so in effect two rooms. The beds were really comfortable, there were chairs to sit, fantastic internet and the bathroom + shower were first class. Breakfast was very good continental - apple croissants (!), cakes, yogurt, fruit, juice and excellent coffee made by the wonderful Samantha. She and host Lara could not be more attentive and without doubt this was the best B&B we stayed in on our journey around Italy.

This is a very quaint family owned property in a very quiet area in Pavia. The room was tastefully decorated with a comfortable bed and a spacious bathroom. It was lovely to have a private small patio with chairs and be able to sit there to read. Breakfast is plentiful and the staff are very kind and their service is impeccable!

I didn’t actually stay at the Villa as there were plumbing issues. Very generously, they “upgraded” me at no extra cost to a very funky loft apartment in the old town. I loved it. They even gave me a breakfast voucher for a local café which was great fun. Truly local.

Our booking was for 1 dble bed & 2 singles. Understandably we were moved (to accommodate another guest) although the suite was meticulously styled, beautiful and spacious, it was better suited to 3 people. My husband and I slept on a sofa bed as it was smaller and our two teens shared the king to avoid arguments. Unfortunately, we spent the night rolling into the middle.

Nice suite of 2 rooms, a bedroom and a lounge, with a fridge and a/c - very nice in the heat we had. Also a terrace, which it was too hot to use but might be nice at other times

Property has a lovely looking swimming pool, but it’s private, not for use of guests. A little flexibility from the (absent) owner, given the very high temperature, would have been greatly appreciated

Beautiful, spacious apartment with large bathroom and toiletries available. Host was very pleasant and helpful. Comfortable bed and linens. A perfect stop when travelling from the north of Italy to the south.

A longer walk than expected from the train station. Only a few cafes in the area.

Fantastic room size, with a huge bathroom and an additional living room and even a balcony. Air conditioning in the room made sleeping in the crazy heatwave possible. We'd stay here again.

The described walking distance to the old town seems rather long on a hot July day, when one sweats profoundly on the way from the car (parked right outside) to the entrance.

The rooms are large and well maintained. The lady is very nice and helpful. She makes a very complete and nice breakfast within a relaxed environnement.

More appropriate for short stays

Spacious, clean and beautiful room. Charming bathroom. Friendly service and good breakfast (we bought separately).

The location is a bit far from the center, but a short distance from the train station.
