The view from the property was amazing and can't be beat. The staff was super nice and helpful and even helped us book a car service to Salerno. The common terrace where breakfast was served was beautiful and such a great way to start the day. The room we stayed in was basic but had an amazing view from the window. The bed was just okay in regards to comfort; nothing fabulous but not bad for a few nights.

As others have said the 200 stair hike up to town is pretty brutal. We are in decent shape and were out of breath at the top. However, the price of the property for the view is hard to beat just beware it's not an easy 200 steps. Also, just a simple note, we stayed in the triple room (Emerald room 6) and the description mentions a terrace which I assumed to mean off the room, however this refers to the common terrace, which is beautiful and spectacular just not what I was expecting. Our room had a large window with a great view. The description also mentions that the room has bathrobes which were not present. Again, not significant but wanted to mention as you select your room and property.

While we realized that the property did not have a 24 hours check-in, they could be a bit more organized around special cases where some of their guests cannot come within their window. In our case, our flight was delayed by 2 hours and we had to go through a huge exercise of communication, waiting at their entrance sleepy and then end up paying what felt like a “fine” of 50 euros on top to allow them to let us in. This could be easily avoided with some smart automation and digitalization to make it easy not only for their guests but also for themselves.

Gala which has great parking availability, has the most fabulous views overlooking the bay of Maiori and out to the Mediterranean. Our welcome was very friendly full of helpful advice. The rooms are fresh and clean with a lovely sparking feel. Crisp white cotton, with just the right amount of striking blue as a contrast, is a pleasing combo in the furnishings and the bathroom has all the accessories. The breakfast served on the pretty terrace, with such a stunning view, was beautifully served and presented and delicious. The general area with neighbouring others bnb’s is very friendly. There was a separate complex with a beautiful swimming pool with sun beds and umbrellas which one could pay €20 for entry. During the day snacks and drinks are available to purchase. Be aware that Gala does not provide service out of the Bed and Breakfast arrangement. There are plenty of good restaurants nearby.

Be aware this property, like all others in the area, is perched on a steep hillside edge and access up to the main Piazza in the centre of Ravello is either climbing up 180 steep steps, bear in mind the daytime temperature here in the summer, or walking up a steep road. However there is a local minibus which comes by at quarter past the hour every hour which for €1.50 will take you up the hill and drop you by the Piazza. It’s truly worth it. I dislike nothing about Gala Residence.

Breakfast was wonderful on the terrace overlooking the Amalfi Coast towns of Minori and Maiori. These two towns are much better than Amalfi since the tourist crowds typically skip them. Amazing view from our window, but we didn't realize there were shutters - those would have helped because the morning light started pouring in early. Parking was fine since I had a FIAT 500, but would have been hard for bigger cars. The steps up to Villa Ruffalo were quite many, so be prepared, but they are literally right across the street from the gate. Learn how to use the transport Locale van - it's 1.50 EURO, but the drive is amazing! We tipped an extra 5 EURO since it was so entertaining.

Wasps/hornets on the terrace make breakfast a bit scary. I wish there was something to do for those, but it's hard all around Europe there are these pests since they don't use pesticides. The tiles in the rooms with the stripes may give some residents headaches as they are so perfect.

Excellent place to stay. Firstly, communication was excellent through the app, asking if we needed anything beforehand. On arrival, there was a gate and when it was locked I called the number and someone came to greet us. The staff were all very friendly and could not do enough for us. The views were stunning, very beautiful and mostly quiet. The room was very well furnished and the bed very comfortable. It was a short hike up the stairs to the centre of the Ravello, but quite easy to navigate. A little tiring, especially with suitcases on arrival but we found another route too. It would be ideal to have a car. Breakfast was served on our patio area (due to the heavy rain). We could chose from a list the day before. The croissants were huge! Freshly squeeded orange juice and eggs cooked to our liking. Despute heavy rain, this did not dampen our enjoyment of this beautiful little hide-away in Ravello.

There was some very noisy building work going on until 5pm and again from 8am.

This was a wonderful hotel. The staff were fantastic and made our honeymoon stay all the more special with welcome prosecco. The hotel had a beautiful view and terrace for breakfast. Everything was very clean and orderly. Very nice accommodations.

This isn't even a negative, but want to point it out. It is a 5-10min walk to the town center but via stairs. This is true for practically anywhere on the Amalfi coast. It wasn't an issue for us as we did the stairs countless times during our stay. It may be an issue if you are not comfortable with a large amount of stairs.

The staff at breakfast was chaotic. Serves croissants, after 15 min espresso. And finally, after about half an hour - scrambled eggs. Breakfast is ordered from the evening, which implies clarity, speed and logical sequence in serving.

Ravello is an expensive city overall but this location was less than 10 minutes (all uphill as most things are in Ravello!) walk from the Villa Ruffalo and center of Ravello and the views of the coast were beyond compare. It's not the most glamorous location overall but the rooms were very nicely done--clean and simple--and the bathrooms were nice as well. Breakfast was ordered in advance and they were so lovely in making and delivering it on the beautiful patio in the morning. My kids loved the cats that were around as well. There's a pool next door (they charge for entry) and we would have definitely used it but ran out of time. Very convenient. Staff was exceptionally lovely.

We loved our stay, wouldn't have changed anything.

The view from the hotel is incredible. The staff was excellent and friendly and spoke English, which helped us. The room was large, especially compared to other European hotels. It was clean and well-appointed. It was peaceful and quiet. The breakfast was great. We really enjoyed our stay. A very sweet Ravello cat named Lucy lives at the hotel and my kids loved playing with her.

Nothing the hotel can do about it, but the stairs leading up to town are no joke. There are a lot! It’s about a ten minute walk up the stairs to town. The stairs are right across the street from the hotel, so at least that makes it easier. Following the road to town (if you don’t want to take the stairs) is uphill. It’s just the way Ravello was built. You get a little exercise in on the way to dinner. We thought there was a pool at the hotel, based on booking.com reviews and description, but the hotel does not have a pool. There is a public pool in the adjoining hotel that is 20 euro/person, but it was closed when we were there.
