My friend and I (two female travelers) stayed at Stella Della Marina for two nights, and it was truly one of the highlights of our trip. From the moment we arrived, the owner, Gabriel, made us feel incredibly welcome. He greeted us warmly, helped us with our luggage, and gave us wonderful, detailed instructions on how to explore Cinque Terre — tips that really helped us make the most of our time there. Gabriel went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed. After a long day of hiking, we came back to the hotel — and I say “home” because it truly felt like home — and asked if we could have some tea. Without hesitation, Gabriel prepared a beautiful tray of tea and biscuits for us. It’s rare to find such genuine care and hospitality. The entire experience was perfect from start to finish. Gabriel’s kindness, attentiveness, and passion for taking care of his guests made our stay unforgettable. If you’re visiting Cinque Terre, staying at Stella Della Marina is an absolute must!

Everything. It's an owner-run hotel situated in the centre of Monterosso’s Old Town. Perfect place to stay while exploring Cinque Terre. The Room was nice and big. We overlooked the town's Bell tower and had a balcony. Traveling with 2 big bags normally is an issue, but the room was big enough to accommodate the space needed. Breakfast is great, and coffee is amazing. The owner gave us some great tips for our 4-day stay. Would recommend this place to all travelers. Just a side note. There is no lift, so for older guest, the owner will be able to assist with bags.

We had a wonderful stay at Stella Della Marina! From the moment we arrived, Gabriele was incredibly helpful—he took the time to orient us with the property and offered great recommendations for lunch, dinner, and hiking between the towns. His warm hospitality made us feel right at home. Our room was very comfortable, and the shower was excellent—a perfect way to relax after a day of exploring. The breakfasts were a real highlight, especially the cappuccinos, which were some of the best we had on our trip.

I can't express how much I enjoyed staying in Stella Della Marina. Gabriele is an absolutely extraordinary person and he is taking care of the guests with so much love. I felt like home! First of all my plane was late and despite the fact that check in is till 9pm. Gabriele kindly agreed to wait and even met me with an umbrella half way (it was pouring when I arrived!) The rooms are very cosy, extremely clean and bed was so comfortable, I haven't slept so well for ages! The breakfast (especially Cappuccino) was amazing, with the beautiful historical view and the outside terrace. Gabriele was so kind and gave me recommendations on where to go and what to see, explained how to get to places and even gave me his umbrella for the day when it was raining ❤️ can't wait to come back someday to this wonderful place. Thank you so much Gabriele for loving what you do and for all your kindness and warmth.

I loved everything! Gabriele is a wonderful and caring host. I'm a 25-year-old female who was traveling to Cinque Terre alone. This was my second time to Cinque Terre and it was immensely improved because of Gabriele. I had an 18-hour travel day due to train delays. I didn't arrive in Monterosso until 23:30, but Gabriele was extremely understanding. He was waiting for me by the main square on the old side of Monterosso to help carry my bags. He carried my 22.7 kg (50 lb) bag up 3 flights of stairs to my room. He also carried them down the stairs once I checked out. He provided me with a notated map of Monterosso and told me to come to breakfast the following morning where he would give me more information/tips. The room was impeccably clean and comfortable, especially since there was adjustable AC. He also provided towels for the beach. Breakfast was one of the best I've had in Italy. There's an expansive selection of meats, cheeses, cereals, pastries, yogurts, breads, coffees, fruits, and small snacks. He has a fancy coffee/espresso machine and makes cappuccinos/coffees to order. The view for breakfast is breathtaking. You have a clear view of the ocean/beach/clocktower from both the inside and outside portion of the terrace. I spent multiple mornings sitting on the terrace, reading, and enjoying breakfast pastries and a fresh cappuccino. It's a wonderful start to the day and better than any breakfast you'd get in town. Gabriele is extremely knowledgeable when it comes to traveling around Cinque Terre and things to do. He has wonderful restaurant recommendations close to the hotel and authentic to Monterosso cuisine. Whether you want to go hiking, relax on the beach, or explore Cinque Terre, Gabriele is a great comprehensive resource. As a single female traveler, I felt extremely safe and would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Incredible location next to the main street and very close to the best public beach. Gabrielle is a wonderful host, he told me everything about the hikes and recommended how to split them between the two full days that I spent in Cinque Terre, while also allowing some time to swim. He also got me breakfast to go when I told him that I was going to miss breakfast because of the early time I started the hike. Will definitely recommend this hotel to anyone coming to Monterosso (which is also the perfect town choice if you want to swim as well as explore the hikes) and will stay here if (or hopefully when) I go back to Cinque Terre.

What a great experience in Monterosso. Our host Gabriele was superb. He owns and resides over this 11 room boutique hotel. He is a concierge, information center, guide, bellman and more, all at once. The breakfast was lovely and which featured sweeping views of the town. Our room #10 had ocean views just as he had promised at the booking. It's a gem and the location is excellent. You will climb some stairs as all the 5 lands are mostly vertical, but that is a small price to pay for the reward.

We'd go back in a heartbeat.

Gabriela - owner and proprietor of Hotel Stella della Marina is a fantastic host. The location was perfect in the old part of Monterosso. The place was very clean with great amenities. Gabriela personally showed me to my room and how the doors worked. The slippers in the room was a pleasant touch. Huge variety was laid on for breakfast enough to cater for every taste. He also recommended some nice restaurants. Can’t fault Hotel Stella della Marina. Thank you Gabriela for a wonderful stay.

A lovely, tastefully decorated room in a great location in a side street just off the main square in Monterosso. Great breakfast with a nice mountain/sea view on the terrace. The owner, Gabriel, was an exceptional host - very helpful, offering great suggestions to give a personalized experience eg I broke my glasses and he suggested I go to La Spezia, the main town, for an optician (there are no normal shops in Cinque Terre, just tourist shops). It's good for shopping and walking along the harbour/yachts - it was a great relief from the heaving tourist crowds (in mid May).

Not a thing. Although rooms are 4 flights up, Gabriel assisted with my suitcase. I expected a kettle in my room, which wasn't there. But this was provided upon request, no problem.

Well, what we loved most about our stay was Gabriele, the owner. He was so kind and gave us great suggestions on places to eat and things to do in the area. The location is superb! It is located in the older part of Monteroso, which in our opinion is much more authentic and quainter. There are many fantastic restaurants with several shops located within steps from the hotel. Our room had a nice view of the Ligurian Sea with a very short walk to the marina which was very convenient for meeting our boat for our sunset cruise. It was also a great location to begin our hike along the coast. Loved the breakfast as well. Very memorable stay with a fantastic host! Highly recommend Stella Della Marina!
