Booking a time for the gym was a little inconvenient if you didn’t get the time You needed.

The decor was great, staff were super friendly and kind, and the beds were very comfortable. It was also close to the metro which was nice. I enjoyed the roof and the sauna was great too. Breakfast was fantastic!

I think the only challenge we had was that the room cleaning happened late in the day so if we came back to the hotel late afternoon before dinner we'd not get the room cleaned. It took is a couple days to figure this out and we sent a couple days without cleaning. Also while it's very close to the metro, it is far from all the sites. But it's very quiet area which is beneficial. Dinner was not as delicious as breakfast.

This charming boutique hotel offers a unique experience with its distinctive amenities and furnishings, featuring a subtly "sexy" vibe that is more invigorating than off-putting. The breakfast is consistently excellent and conveniently available until 11 AM. The bed was incredibly comfortable, providing a soft and cozy sleep. The staff are exceptionally friendly and cheerful, creating a welcoming and joyful atmosphere. I had the pleasure of sharing a drink with the General Manager and the Food & Beverage Manager, who took great care of me. Additionally, the hotel is conveniently located near a metro station.

The hotel is located 190 meters from the metro Cipro, only 10 minutes to the center, very convenient. The hotel is beautifully decorated both outside and inside. The rooms are clean, comfortable, cleaned every day. Delicious breakfasts and hospitable staff. We were checked in even earlier, for which we were very grateful after a long journey. When we checked out at 2:00AM, stuff helped us call a taxi to airport and gave us water. We enjoyed our stay at this hotel.

The only drawback, I would like to mention is the reservation deposit on a credit card, which cannot be replaced with cash. The deposit is not returned immediately after check-out. Deposit still hasn't been returned.

This is a great off the beaten path hotel which is it's own little sanctuary. The decor and vibe were all really fun, while also being chic, functional and clean. While I didn't personally have the opportunity to check out all the hotel had to offer, I knew it was all right here - steam and sauna, gym, breakfast, pizza parlour, many areas to be outdoors. The rooms were well equipped, not overdone but everything you needed was there and the beds are incredibly comfortable. It was my first Mama Shelter experience and I'd seek out another Mama Shelter in the future.

The only thing that felt like it was missing was a small coffee machine in the room.

Great location for a stay in Rome - being slightly less central just feels a bit less tourist-y (avoids the group tours a bit!). Right next to the Cipro metro (which you can get to very easily and cheaply from Ciampino airport without having to go into the centre). Next to the Vatican and easy walking distance to Trastevere. We also walked up to Stadio Olimpico from there (45 minutes or so) but a nice walk with lots of places to eat/drink on the way. Gorgeous decor. Lovely friendly staff. Great bar/restaurant with perfect pizza and nice meals, breakfast and cocktails. Decent size room with balcony and big shower room.

Not much to dislike at all, it’s a great hotel. Room decor is lovely but a bit more storage would be good. Be sure to book the restaurant, as it gets very busy (and you’ll have to really chase the staff in there, nice as they are, as it manages to be both very laid back and super hectic at the same time).

I stayed for four days at the Mama Shelter hotel, and I won’t hesitate to return. The staff is attentive, extremely kind, and friendly. I had chosen a double room, and my husband and I found it very comfortable—perfectly soundproofed, which is really important to me, spacious, and with very comfortable beds. Every day, I spent an hour at the pool, which is small but very charming. I also used the sauna and the gym. St. Peter’s Basilica is a couple of kilometers away, and the metro station is practically right in front. I think this will become my favorite place to stay in Rome!

At reception the staff were so friendly they even upgraded us. The beds were so comfortable and we both had a great night sleep! There was vegan options on the menu and the hotel is decorated funky which we love.

We did have a problem with a member of staff who was the host in the restaurant. We had booked a table for dinner at 7, but decided to go earlier at 6, she said that was fine. At 6.55 we was then told she needed the table back but the restaurant was empty and we hadn’t even eaten our mains yet. We just felt unwelcome in the restaurant. The host the next morning to apologise let us have our breakfast for free which was very kind and made up for the night before. If it wasn’t for this the hotel would have got 5stars from us

Great location and very clean hotel. Resaurant on site was a major draw. Prices reasonable given it is in Rome. Easy walk to metro system. Rooftop bar was a pleasant surprise. Comfortable rooms. Very child friendly.

No early check-in was disappointing given we had informed the hotel that we were arriving early morning on an overnight train from Siracusa. A baggage room made up for this slightly. The room we booked was not the room we were assigned and lessened our experience. Two free drink vouchers for the room error did not make up for the mistake - especially given the room cost.

My partner and I recently stayed at Mama Shelter Roma, and it was such a unique experience! The hotel’s style and decor are incredibly creative. The food was amazing – everything we tried was delicious, and the restaurant has such a great vibe that we just wanted to hang out there all night. Our room was cozy, clean, and had a warmth. While it’s a bit outside the city center, the metro station is conveniently located just next to the hotel, with an easy ride straight to Termini. The neighborhood itself is calm and lovely, perfect for a relaxing stay. After this experience, we’d definitely stay at Mama Shelter in other countries too. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a stylish, comfortable, and unique place to stay in Rome!
