This hotel is a gem in this region! Granted it's more expensive than most because it's a 5 star L but, the family suite 20D (sleeps 4) that we stayed in had beautiful ocean views, a gorgeous balcony, was extremely clean, had wonderful amenities like Etro soaps, had a cleaning and evening turn down service, spacious, and cold air conditioning. We were extremely comfortable. Our stay came with 2 hours (free) per day of their gorgeous spa. This hotel has a beautiful pool and an incredible, overabundant international breakfast (both buffet and menu-service) INCLUDED in price of stay. Please note: it's location is outside of historic city center and takes a good 30 minute walk but it's in a secluded, tranquil area with it's own beautifully curated beach (with beach bar). We found it to be a great trade off. Located 5 minute walking distance to a beautiful nearby beach call Punta Tegge. Run -- don't walk to this hotel!

Softer mattresses and thicker pillows. Pillow in Italy are sometimes pancake flat. Not used to them.

Just a stunning boutique hotel with lovely decor and stunning pool and sun lounge areas. Rooms were really stylish and housekeeping was excellent with a turn down service in the evenings. The cleaning staff deserve special recognition as the whole hotel is kept immaculate including the pool areas. Maddalena really is a jewel in the Archipelago of NE Sardinia and the location of the Ma & Ma was great with nearby beach and a pleasant 20 minute walk into the charming town with plenty of bars and restaurants.

Rooms don’t have tea or coffee making facilities. Main restaurant too expensive and focussed on sea food for the island when compared to restaurants in Maddalena although there was a very good pizzeria adjacent to the hotel which was reasonably priced though . The price of drinks at the poolside bar was off putting with locally produced Sardinian beer being almost 8 times the price that it is in the supermarket. Disappointing also was the single bottle of complimentary water (for 2 of us in the room) on arrival which was not replaced daily.

My experience at the Grand Hotel Ma&Ma was simply outstanding. The hotel is elegant and peaceful, just a few steps from a stunning beach with crystal-clear water — one of the most beautiful on the island. What made my stay truly exceptional was the professionalism and kindness of the entire team, especially Cinzia and Fabrizio, who supported me with great care and helped resolve a situation with discretion and efficiency. Their presence made all the difference. The staff in general is of an exceptionally high standard — from the warm and meticulous housekeeping team to the highly professional restaurant staff. The gastronomy is refined and delicate, every meal a true pleasure. The SPA is a real haven of peace, and the excursions offered are well-organized and worth doing. I recommend using the private driver service provided by the hotel if you’re traveling alone, and I also had a wonderful experience renting a car through the hotel to explore La Maddalena and Caprera. Everything was perfectly clean, calm and beautifully managed. Truly a 5-star experience. Thank you!

This luxury hotel offers great facilities. Besides spacious rooms, a nice Spa and outside pool it is especially the garden which really stands out. This beautiful natural lounge area has magnificent views on the surrounding Archipelago. Furthermore, the breakfast is absolutely 5 stars and the hotel restaurant ‘Isola’ also delivers great quality food choices. Nearby the hotel is the MaMa pizza place as a second place to eat. We had a great time.

The gym facilities are very limited at Ma&Ma and it’s pricey to drink at the Bar in the pool/garden area. Furthermore, there are no nice beaches near the hotel. Punta Tegge is rocky so don’t expect white sand beaches.

The property was beautiful! We really liked the staff — friendly and always ready to help! The breakfast was excellent with a wide variety of options. A big compliment to the housekeeping team who maintained the room and the entire hotel! Spotlessly clean!

The drawbacks are: there is no full-length mirror in the room, and the hotel’s beach club has outrageous prices for cabanas and service, which are not up to that level.

Great Location, beautiful beach! Staff were very attentive, cleaning services superb. Great garden for leisure.

Breakfast was a bit poor. Barely any fresh vegetables and little fruit. More local produce were expected. Long waiting times for coffee. No free sunbeds at the beach, cabanas very expensive.

Outstanding hospitality of the staff. Friendly and open for every single need. Clean rooms, great spa facilities and excellent spot on the map. The waiters of the restaurant made us feel very welcome.

The emergency exit in the hallway with rooms were locked up with zip ties. We asked for explanations and all they came up was, that if you try to open the doors, you’ll still be able to get out. Still didn’t seem very safe to us (maybe illegal).

Great room, brilliant pool with fabulous bean bag type sun loungers, excellent breakfast ( go before the rush at 10am !! ) but above all else the wonderful, helpful & friendly staff … & try MaMa pizza restaurant too

Both the bar and the dining room interiors need a complete redesign. Their bland, modernist look is as welcome as a hospital waiting room and both are completely at odds with the rest of the hotel. But don’t let that put you off your stay; the food is excellent plus there are plenty of fabulous restaurants in the town for dinner too.

The room was great, with a nice décor and ample space… It had a nice and cozy verandah, partially overlooking the blue seas of La Maddalena. The bathroom was spacious, with a nice shower, very good quality soap, shampoo etc… Towels were in good numbers and formats. Both, Room and Bathroom very well mantained, daily.

Such a great stay in La Maddalena! While the hotel has been there for 10 years already, we couldn’t believe it as everything looks brand new. We were welcomed with a Prosecco glass and throughout our stay the staff always made sure we were taking the best of our experience. The room is spacious, bed is comfortable, shower is great. Breakfast has lots of options and there’s also a light lunch option, besides dinner in their own restaurant or pizza place. The pool and chilling areas are absolutely amazing as well as their SPA that definitely worths a visit. We loved every second of it!

Some people might find it a little bit outside the center area. We took a taxi to go out for dinner and it was completely okay. During the day you can also simply walk.
