The location is superb and it was extremely clean. Staff were very pleasant and helpful at all times. There was plenty of choice at breakfast.

The layout of the garden apartment I shared with a friend meant that one of us had to walk past the other’s bed to get to the bathroom. This is not ideal for women ‘of a certain age’ who need to use the bathroom during the night. We had hoped to be able to have breakfast outside (and it looked like we could on the website) but we were told that was not possible. Eating breakfast outside is one of my favourite things to do on holiday so that was a little disappointing. The shower kept running hot and cold which was a little frustrating.

The Due Mari is an excellent hotel in an ideal location between the two bays of Sestri Levante (a town we really liked!). The staff were exceptionally helpful at all times, not least in helping us rearrange rooms following a minor disruption in our plans. The sea-water pool was a great boon, and the sea - the beautiful Baia del Silenzio - is pretty much on the doorstep. The hotel is generous in giving guests towels for both sea and pool on request. Breakfast was also generous. Our first room was compact and comfortable, with a well-equipped bathroom. The air conditioning unit in the room was a little elderly, but the ceiling fan was very useful. The room was kept spotless by very efficient and pleasant staff. The property itself is spread over several buildings and courtyards and is fascinating to discover in its own right. The buildings and furnishings are very characterful - this is not a standardised place at all. We moved, with the hotel's help, to an apartment associated with the hotel, just across the road, and found it very commodious and comfortable. The staff again went out of their way to help us arrange transport to the station at the end of our stay - and always had a smile for clients.

You can tell she was a gem back in the day but it is a little older now by most standards but it's still very charming. Location-wise it's 2 two-minute walk from the beach you literally walk out the front door and take a right and you are standing on the beach. Breakfast is a big buffet with so much to choose from. It's served in this nice garden area.

It is what it is. It's an old hotel in a modern world but that's what makes it charming.

I had a beautiful room with a terrace which was amazing. Also appreciated the pool and the other wellness services. Breakfast was really nice and they were even able to get me vegan alternatives which was a great bonus. On the day of departure I left very early and got a little bag with breakfast to go from the super friendly staff.

Hotel is centrally located in Sestri Levanti, a few steps from the Bay of Silence, and a very short walk to all the bars and restaurants, as well as the main beaches. It had bags of old world charm, breakfast was superb, with everything on offer, whatever your dietary preferences. Staff were friendly and helpful, We particularly liked the salt water pool, which had spa bath corners to help ease tired muscles!

We were in an economy room, which was OK for our 3 night stay, but any longer would have needed a bigger room. We arrived on a Sunday, and there was a birthday party on in the evening (apparently the hotel has lot of weekend functions), which did not finish until near enough midnight. Having said that, we thought the DJ was great, pulling out 80's classics, so we were entertained, if not able to sleep! :-)

The location is great and right by beautiful Baia del Silenzio (recommended of the two beaches). The hotel also had an outdoor pool with an adjacent children’s pool. Breakfast was served by the pool in a beautiful location. The hotel also has a small rooftop with sunbathing beds which was very nice and private. The staff was also very helpful.

The room was a little cramped (especially the bathroom which had the smallest shower in history), but it is also an old property which was beautiful. It was a bit difficult to get access to your car if you needed something from it after it was parked in the garage (actually a gated courtyard up the street) but the staff was nevertheless helpful.

It was wonderful. Quiet, clean, everything you'd expect to see in a hotel. The room was tiny but perfectly fine with me, the sea view is worth the size! Enjoyed some time on the balcony listening to the birds. The hike to the Torra was one of the most beautiful ones I came across on my trip over Liguria. Recommend it a lot to all the sporty people, it's not too difficult, you can do it in 4 hours easily and explore all mountain. They have so many tiny items like soaps and even a sewing kit that I did need and used! But I wish it became a norm to leave also some stuff travelers might truly need, as in: sanitary menstruation pads. I also used the bikes. It was a great thing to have available. The swimming pool with salty water was also great for morning!

Breakfast was Italian style, lots of white bread and things to eat with it, but as a more veggie person I'd love to see more salads and fruits available :)

I liked the ambience of the hotel. Eating area restful , pool was lovely and the hotel was a very nice place to stay.

The power cut on the Saturday was very inconvenient as we were getting ready for a wedding. Whilst we know these things can’t be helped we were not offered any assistance with ironing or other facilities . No compensation was offered though was given when we asked. Very loud music from a wedding till 1:00 in the morning on the Sunday . Finally I don’t like wasps with my cooked meat & cheese for breakfast.

The staff was very helpful, great hospitality! The hotel itself was located perfectly on the peninsula end of the tombolo, easy to walk around in the city centre and to go to both beaches. The rooms were wonderful, charming stairs brings you around. Great breakfast buffet, restaurant and bar. Everything was perfect!

One of the perfectly positioned Sestri hotels offering all that you needed for some luxury and romance. Wife enjoyed the breakfast as they offered foccacia in a grande style room. Lovely vistas and internal rooms. Sea water indoor pool and just next to the bay of silence.

Parking is always tricky in Italy and expect to pay in a hotel of this nature.
