Everything about Hotel Porto Azzurro was pretty much perfect, the staff were exceptional, nothing was ever too much for them. Reception were knowledgeable regarding the local area & were always happy to help. Located about a 45 minute leisurely walk from the castle, but if that seems too much, a shuttle bus runs regularly which drops you right outside the hotel 2 Euros each for the journey. Both Andreas & Francesco 2 of the male staff that tend the bar were an absolute joy, they went above & beyond to make sure you enjoyed your stay there...

There was nothing I can think of to say negatively about this Hotel

Superb hotel. Excellent location - really quiet area away from the hustle and bustle of Sirmione yet it is less than fifteen minutes to get "to and from" Sirmione Old Town, on the shuttle bus (pay the driver) which stops at the hotel. The hotel is also within walking distance to local amenities such as restaurants, bars and shops. Fantastic breakfast - so much choice. Handy snack bar for food and drinks during the day. Small hotel bar in reception which is a nice option to have. Wonderful staff - friendly and welcoming. We checked in really late at night, and were given a ground floor room at the back of the property, so we did not have much of a view; we had a small table & chairs outside our sliding doors, on a shared patio, and our room faced onto a sheltered/private green area. The room was modern, clean, and we heard no noise during our stay. We requested tea/coffee making facilities for our room, as they weren't automatically included, and a kettle & cups were brought to us immediately. The pool is a great facility to have when you need to take a break and relax, and it is surrounded by a lovely garden. The hotel and gardens are kept amazingly clean. We recommend this lovely hotel.

We would recommend that you request a room with a view. The TV had many channels in every language other than English but this comment is nothing more than an observation, that someone might find helpful.

Honest review. Room 210. We were absolutely thrilled with the hotel, and very pleased to get a free upgrade. After arriving late afternoon we sat out by the pool and were given complementary nibbles consisting of nuts, crisps and cold meats/ cheese.Thank you to the guy tending the bar . The room was very comfortable, two thicknesses of pillow to choose from . Two single beds fitted together so plenty of room and little roll back. Safe, fridge , television and balcony. The bathroom facilities were excellent, a good powerful shower and bidet. Plenty of towels. When we asked via the door knob sign for the room to be made up it was done excellently. Thank you to the house keeping staff. Air-conditioning in the room which not being used to took a little time to try to set up. Our room was situated in a fairly quiet area of the hotel. The breakfasts were outstanding with a good selection to both eat and drink. Thank you food service staff and particularly Sofia for that radiant smile. The evening light bites were good. On the first night we simply had the ham pizza and ham/mushroom pizza and a couple of aperol spritz's. Prices were reasonable. The pool was very good, although I only used it once , sharing with the resident duck. Plenty warm enough on a partially cloudy day. Receptionist staff were courteous and helpful. I enjoyed my chats with Andreas about formula 1 and the performance of the varying teams this year. Good quiet location with some decent restaurants nearby. All in all it was a very good experience and if I was back here again I wouldn't hesitate to stay at Hotel Porto Azzurro. Well done.

Honest review. On the second night. We decided to again stay at the hotel for light bites. I was disappointed by a different guy tending the bar who tried to clear our plates before we had finished and had to be told to put them down. This was the last time that we ate at the hotel outside breakfast. Shame really as there were other things on the menu I wanted to try!

Very nice hotel, even better than in photos. I was pleasantly surprised. Maybe it deserves half of the star extra to those which it already has 🙂. Beautiful spatious family room, nice restaurant where light lunch and snacks could be purchased. Breakfast was amazing, a lot of choices and good quality food. Personnel was very helpful, we could even check in earlier than as per schedule. Parking available in the yard or on the street, free of charge. There is certain distance to walk to main sightseeing places, but given the quality of the hotel and the price, I believe this is what should be expected. I can certainly recommend this hotel and we might ourselves come back again if we would again visit Sirmione.

It was nice place with nice balcony view ( got upgraded room) Breakfasts were amazing ( Fruits, jus, coffee, yogurts, different type of eggs and italian bakery etc) Staff was helpful and polite. The pool area is pretty nice- you always can find sunny area around the pool and at the same tome you can always chill in a shadow on the grass. The wi-fi near the pool not working well, but in the hotel or in the room- didn’t have issues at all. Also, they have not that big menu but everything is delicious - especially Lasagna ( price is lower than in the restaurant)

if you don’t have a car- have to walk a bit to the beach, but they provide bicycles for free so it saves the situation. Nevertheless, we had a car and did’t have this issue, not even with the parking ( always had spot near the hotel)

Andreas at reception was incredibly helpful and welcoming! He went out of his way to find a safe parking solution for our van—with 12 bikes on the roof and a trailer full of bikes—which gave me real peace of mind and a great night’s sleep. The hotel is very well located, and you can even borrow a bike to ride into the nearby old town. Breakfast was excellent too. Overall, a wonderful experience!

My balcony room was nice, but not quite as charming as my colleague’s garden room—despite the higher price. If you're deciding between the two, I’d recommend going with the garden room!

Location is great just beside the bus stop into centro storico. Pool area was fab , clean plenty of sun loungers, lovely and quiet just blissful. Beds extremely comfortable. Shower was hot and powerful . Balcony was nice. Air conditioning system was perfect which for Italy in August is a total lifesaver . If air conditioning hadn’t worked correctly it would have ruined our trip, so very pleased it worked perfectly. Breakfast was phenomenal. Staff are so nice and helpful. When we checked out for a very early flight they had a packed lunch prepared for us to take with us. And they made us an espresso while we waited for our taxi. I’ve never had such lovely treatment. Bar food for lunch was great will definitely come here again

We really enjoyed our stay at Porto Azzuro, the staff were friendly, helpful and attentive. The breakfast had a huge selection and we were able to help ourselves. As Vegetarians there were plenty of options for us too. The location is fantastic - with the old town (30 min walk) and new town (5 min walk) accessible with lots of nice restaurants and cafe's to visit. The pool was great, although unheated so cold in April! The bar was open with a friendly barman always willing to rustle up aperitifs! Would definitely stay again!

The cleaning team were super efficient - too efficient at times! There was no sign to say 'do not disturb' which meant they would come in to clean even if you were still in the room.

Perfect location 5 minute cycle from the castle and close to bus stops pool is big and plenty of sunbeds, the staff behind reception were incredibly helpful and informative

There were ants in our room , bed clothes only changed once all week the elevator wasn't the best, lack of outlets in the room , no bin and no iron or ironing board in the room also

Lovely Hotel, very relaxing. Great swimming pool and food. Free hire of bicycles to explore the area. The staff went the extra mile to be friendly and helpful. Valentina (manager) , Marco, Sofia, Andrea, Andrea, Anna to name but a few. Very relaxing few days and can't wait to go back. Don't think twice about booking this hotel, you will be super impressed. It should have a higher star rating.
