We had a fantastic experience at this hotel! Upon check-in, we were pleasantly surprised with a free upgrade to a deluxe room. The room had been recently renovated - it was modern, spotless, and very comfortable. The beds were incredibly comfortable, and everything was so clean and well-maintained. We also received coupons for complimentary welcome prosecco, which was a lovely touch. The room had a stunning view over the town, which made our stay even more special. Despite the large number of tourists in Sorrento, the hotel felt very calm and quiet - perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring. The staff were extremely polite and welcoming, always ready to help with a smile. Breakfast was excellent, with a big variety of food and drinks to choose from. The location is amazing - just a short walk from Sorrento’s main attractions, and very close to the central station. It’s super convenient for catching a bus to the airport, Amalfi, or Positano, and for taking a train to Naples. Highly recommended!

Our group of seven recently stayed at Grand Hotel Cesare Augusto, and we all had a fantastic experience! The hotel staff welcomed us warmly, and we were delighted to receive complimentary upgrades to recently renovated rooms with lovely views. The rooms were spacious, exceptionally clean, and beautifully designed, which made our stay extra comfortable. The breakfast each morning was delicious, with a wide selection to suit everyone’s tastes – it was the perfect start to our days. We were also grateful that the hotel kindly allowed us a late checkout at no extra charge, which made our departure much easier. The service from the staff was outstanding; they were attentive and responsive to our needs, going above and beyond to make sure our group had a smooth, enjoyable stay. We would highly recommend Grand Hotel Cesare Augusto to anyone visiting the area, and we look forward to returning in the future. Thank you for such a memorable experience!

I recently stayed at this Hotel and had a fantastic experience. The hotel's central location next to the main square made exploring sorrento incredibly convenient. My room was large and exceptionally clean, providing a comfortable and relaxing environment. The partial sea view from my window was a delightful bonus, adding to the overall charm of my stay. What truly set GCA Hotel apart was the exceptional staff. They were consistently helpful and friendly, going above and beyond to ensure my visit was enjoyable. Their warm hospitality made a significant difference and left a lasting impression. I highly recommend this Hotel for anyone looking for a welcoming and well-located place to stay.

Really perfect location and good breakfast. Somehow I booked half board, which I definitely didn’t want as I prefer eating out but took advantage of the dinners twice. Staff are very friendly and accommodating. Nice pool area with bar. My room was very spacious (a little surprising for Europe) and had a balcony. Couldn’t have asked for more. I’d stay here again.

My only complaint is that the mattress wasn’t particularly comfortable and I do wish there was some cable TV or BBC or CNN news. Couldn’t find a news show at all, but I did catch the Olympics with Italian broadcasting!

The room was wonderful, so modern and spacious. It exceeded our expectations. We could see the fireworks from our balcony that went off twice during our stay. Pool was good we used once as it got super busy. Staff were lovely and helpful, especially the cleaning staff they did such a good job. The location is excellent, you walk downstairs and you’re in Sorrento centre. Would definitely stay again. Thank you for the upgraded room as well.

Aside from room rest of hotel is a little dated. Buffet breakfast could do with a slight upgrade although we still enjoyed it.

Based on product and service alone, Cesar Augusto is a 3/5 - however, its great location and value for money in comparison to general market pricing make this a 4/5 for me. We stayed for 3 nights during early September, so still high season and a busy time in Sorrento, yet our rate was reasonable (c. 180per night) The hotel is a mere few minutes walk from Sorrento’s main square, shops and restaurants - and the beaches a little further with thanks to the steep steps and descend to the beachfront. As a result, we were easily able to pop back and forth to the hotel whether it was to change, drop something off, pick something up, etc. We had a spacious room on the 5th floor with a nice view. Interiors were basic and quite dated - the hotel is pretty dated in general and could do with a refurb - although, it didn’t bother us in fairness and it’s probably part of the reason we could afford a nice hotel so central in Sorrento in the first place. Breakfast was average, but again perhaps reflected in the price. It offered a decent spread of breads, hams/cheeses, pastries, fruits, cereals, some eggs (which we didn’t try). Plenty on offer to start your day right and we wouldn’t have wanted much more give we were eating our weight in pizza and pasta every night. The rooftop pool and bar is great - it has fantastic views and is generally quiet given the hotel is located on the upper side of town, so it seemed to be only hotel guests who visited. Nice for a quiet aperitivo before going out, by the pool or a drink after dinner - depending on what you’re looking for, otherwise a short walk into town and everything is on your doorstep. Overall, a very nice hotel - I would definitely return and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend

Large hotel close to circumvesia train station and 5 minutes from the centre. Good breakfast spread. They kindly upgraded our room and gave a free Prosecco. In the summer I'm sure the rooftop bar and the garden bar are good but we were a bit out of season. Staff friendly, everything worked well.

Nothing really but such a big hotel just lacked a personal touch..that's mainly because we normally go to small family hotels....staff were all good here so no problem.

Good location and very close to city center. Friendly staff, clean and large room, excellent restaurant and bar, good breakfast. Parking places are very-very limited, but you can find private parking nearby (25/35 euro per day). I didn't like the fact that the wall (parition) between the WC and the room was made of limited transparent glass. Everything else was perfect.

We arrived at the hotel early and were able to use the rooftop pool while we waited for our room to be ready. We were also given complementary Prosecco when we arrived. There was a problem with our safe so the front staff sent someone to our room to fix it, when it couldn’t be fixed they immediately had a new one brought in. The location was great, 5 minutes from the train station as well as 5 minutes from the centre in the other direction. The rooms were beautiful, and we were even able to watch fireworks from our balcony one night!

I loved the location of the hotel and thought it was very clean with helpful and friendly staff. Especially the staff that work hard at the rooftop bar and poolside.

I was very surprised to be asked to leave the pool area at 6 o’clock in the evening as this is far too early. I hadn’t read that and I feel it’s a little early. Also for such a hot country there were no shades around the pool area, I particularly struggled as I burn easily.
