Very friendly and helpful staff. A fantastic location for those traveling by Bernina Railway – opposite the train station. A very good breakfast, with a selection of cheeses, cold meats, and fruit. Parking is available (a few minutes' walk away) and public parking spaces are available near the hotel (paid at the parking meter). Nearby there are many restaurants, bars, and shops.

The room was relatively small. No air conditioning, but the available fan helped somewhat. It was impossible to leave the window open due to noise from the very early morning hours (deliveries to nearby bars).

Unbeatable location if you arrive by train. We departed the Bernina Express and were in the hotel in under 2 minutes - it really is that close! Despite this we never heard any excessive noise. We had a window that overlooked a sort of market square (and a gorgeous view of the mountains!) above the restaurant. The restaurant was great, really nice pasta and pizza in the evening and a good breakfast in the morning. There was a bit of a queue at reception due to the passengers on the train, but the 2 gentleman on reception were very swift in getting everyone checked in whilst still informing everyone of some useful information about the hotel.

There was quite a large gap between our meals arriving in the restaurant as my wife had almost finished hers by the time mine had arrived, however the food was a really high standard, but it feels worth mentioning.

Extremely well located, right across the station to catch the Bernina Express. I arrived late in the evening for an early start the following morning so I didn't get to see the rest of the town. Beds were comfortable. Breakfast was good but typical continental without hot food, only raw eggs that you can poach yourself. Coffee is made in the espresso machine by staff, so it is great. All in all, a good comfortable hotel.

Not major things but the hairdryer is really slow, the sofa/bunk bed in the family room feels a little claustrophobic for the person in the bottom. And although the breakfast buffet was great, a variety of hot food was missing (scrambled eggs, bacon, sausages, etc), but it was still a good breakfast buffet. We were lucky our train was leaving at 9:00am. Breakfast doesn't start until 7:30am, so keep this in mind if you have to catch an early train.

My adult son and I were travelling to Tirano to catch the Bernina Express. Location of the hotel was excellent, just across the square from the train station. We arrived at 10pm at night by train and checkin wasn't a problem. Their restaurant was closed but they recommended one across the square called Vittoria Piazzaria that was open until 11pm, that served us an excellent pizza and wine. Our room was 210 on the second floor, they had a lift that was helpful with our packs, and our room was roomy, clean and very comfortable for our one night stay. Our twin beds were literally singles not twin singles, so therefore small but comfortable. It had a desk, TV and luggage rack. Our room was the end of an outside walkway balcony so had its own little table and two chairs outside. The room cost came with breakfast which was very nice although they had cold pancakes that was surprising but there were no hot dishes that I remember. But a very nice meal overall with cereals, fruit, pastries etc. I've only added one food photo to this review. The Bernina Express was across the square at the railway station, we caught the 8.20am. A really great place to stay, sorry we couldn't explore the area a bit more and have more time.

- The only thing I could say, which Europe doesn't seem to do well in general, is to have an alternative blanket as an extra, as sometimes the duvets are too hot.

Hotel Bernina was our best decision and high light of our 10 day European tour. The staff was very friendly and the view from our rooms were the best. This hotel is just Infront of the train station. They have excellent Pizza in their downstairs restaurant. Break fast was excellent with wide spread of hot and cold items along with fresh fruits. Basilica of Madonna in Tirano is walkable as well. Check in and check out was very sooth and easy .Overall the best experience of our Tour.

Location was perfect. I took the Bernina Express, and everything was within steps of each other in the town square. It was also close to other stores. It was very comfortable and there was extra attention paid to the niceties such as toiletries and minibar. I would have liked to stay longer. They also stored my bag for a few hours after checkout. Food was good.

The room was a bit smaller than expected, but good use was made of that space. Everything else met or exceeded my expectations.

Steps away from the train station! Good breakfast!

Receptionist was rude. I put my credit card in and she handed it back with one word “ declined”. I was very surprised as have a big limit. So I tried my 2nd card. She did the same thing. “ Declined”. I was so shocked. My partner said let me try my debit card. That worked. I literally used my credit cards after everywhere so I don’t know what the problem was. She was so rude. Both were Mastercards too not like I was trying Amex . Nothing to open the drinks in the fridge with.

Excellent location for those travelling on Bernina Express. Clean and comfortable room. Friendly staff on reception.

Breakfast staff not very friendly. We were sent to the back room despite seeing tables ready in the the main breakfast area (the back room seemed to be where the families with children were, while we were travelling as a couple). We also felt we were causing an inconvenience asking for coffee! Otherwise would have given 10/10 overall for our stay.

Brilliant location if you are arriving by train, you can see the hotel across the piazza immediately on exiting the station. Good breakfast.

Room was nice but started out a bit hot, all good with the cotton sheet supplied as bedding. Then it rained and the night cooled down, and there were no blankets, so we were a tiny bit chilly. No beer in fridge despite mini bar price list. Still quite a comfortable room.

We were here to get on the Bernina Express panoramic train, and this is one of 2 hotel in the center square. Closest to the little-red-train station, just steps away. Lovely views from the room. Room was clean, small, quiet and functional. Pet friendly, no extra charge. Overall excellent value.

It was odd that the option to pre-book the room WITH the breakfast was more expensive online here eon Booking, than at the hotel, so we pre-booked without breakfast. Then because the train was leaving early, we opted for no breakfast once we got to the hotel. The pre-booking WITH breakfast should be the same rate on booking than at the hotel, or perhaps even cheaper (to incentivize a higher booking), but not more expensive online with breakfast than AT the hotel itself… that seems like a glitch?!!
