I booked my room in B&B Solandra for one week and was more than happy about my stay there. The location was perfect as the house is located in very quiet zone but at the same time it takes only 10 minutes walk to the centre of Tropea. My room was always very clean (the cleaning service was done every morning), well-equiped and with an amazing view from balcony on the gardens around. Francesco, the owner, is extremely nice person, immediately after my booking he sent me a text message with detailed information including photos of my room and address. He also gave me some useful tips about travelling in Calabria and gave me a lift to train station when I was leaving. The breakfast was always delicious including wide variety of food, home made cakes and vegetables from the owner's garden nearby, so everyone could choose whatever he/she liked. I strongly recommend this accommodation to everyone travelling to Tropea for vacation, it's really worth it and you won't be disappointed! :)

for us it was the first time we went to Tropea. the owner of B&B Solandra wrote to us in the morning. we asked him to have a place for our luggage since we knew that the check-in was at 2 p.m., but Francesco was ready to release the room for us at 11 a.m.!!!! an extraordinary man, kind, smiling, friendly, he helped us with everything. we felt like at home. the house is clean, big, with a very big bathroom. with an abundant breakfast and a fantastic price. francesco, thank you for your help and availability. we love calabria, tropea and b&b solandra. we will go back there again. andi from Albania

Spacious, well-equipped and spotlessly clean room with balcony, storage, kettle for tea-making, TV, even a hair-dryer! Location is in a lovely local residential neighborhood with vegetable gardens and citrus trees, easy and quite picturesque walk to the center and beach. Although no English was spoken, the owner was extremely friendly and helpful and even drove me to the hospital and waited patiently with me there for several hours when I hurt my back, brought me food and organized transport for me. Grazie mille!

Nice spacious room with comfortable bed and balcony. No breakfast but there is a shared kitchen for guests with everything you need. The host was very friendly, on the day of arrival he helped me get there by car because it was raining. Always in touch and ready to help with any question

Beautiful property, surrounded by fruit trees and so quiet.

Sound travel through the house was not the best, but in general a very quiet property.

Francesco is the kindest host you can imagine. He is always available prior / during the stay, helpful and open to his guests. The B and B is modern, clean and engaging. The breakfast is also really nice with a great variety of items, both salty and sweet. Some of you have mentioned the road between the B and B and the city center. Yes, although it is a bit uncomfortable to walk there because of the cars, I'd mention two things (besides the fact that of course the lack of sidewalks does not depend on the host): first, many tourists use the same road as there are a lot of apartments and B and B-s in the surrounding, while based on my experience the drivers are also quiet cautious, so I personally did not find those few minutes between the city center and B and B that dangerous, as it causes no problems if you are careful enough. In conclusion, I would definitely recommend this place not just because the B and B itself, but also the kindness of the host.

A beautiful B&B 10 minutes walk from the hustle & bustle of Tropea. The Host family are calm & friendly helping with any requests making you feel super welcome. I was given a tour of the garden which was jam packed with home grown tomatoes & also little cucumber, basil, parsley, olive, beans & several different fruits - some of which are served for breakfast. The rooms feel modern with more traditional window frames that help set the beautiful views over countryside & sea. The location is set 200m from the main road & parking can only be found there which wasn’t an issue but required 2 trips to bring toddler & bags. The walk to town winds down & is shared with traffic but the cars tend to be in tune with the many walkers making there way down for an evening meal at one of the many restaurants in town. Tropea is a hidden gem on the foot of Italy & the B&B a hidden gem within Tropea.

Lovely breakfast, the host (Francesco) was very kind at all times. The rooms were cleaned every day. Francesco offered some food to us when we arrived in the city during midnight, asking if we had eaten or not. The B&B is very close to the train station and the city, surrounded by beautiful hills. The room was very big and comfortable, we had a beautiful stay.

We had a great stay, the staff were warm and friendly and the breakfast was a bonus. We would happily come back as we felt really welcomed and right at home.
