Tropea is a beautiful old town perched on the cliff top with a stunning beach below. The town has a maze of little lanes and old buildings, numerous restaurants, bars and gelaterias, and a real buzz about it (in summer). Donna Rosa is really well located for this, just 5 mins walk from the centre. If you are arriving into Tropea by train, it is around 10-12 minutes walk from the station. Our room was spacious, clean and had everything we needed and Donna Rosa provides a lovely breakfast in morning with pastries, fruit, yoghurt, juice and coffee. Francesco is a kind, helpful and friendly host. He provided us with tips on restaurants / gelaterias and information on other local beaches to visit - he even gave us a lift to a close by beach when we missed our train! There are large umbrellas that you can borrow for the beach. On the last day when we had a departure after check out time he allowed us to leave our luggage and even take a shower. Highly recommended!

Nothing at all - was all wonderful!

Francesco, the owner, made the experience so great. He was so friendly and accommodating, he personally showed us all the ins and outs of the room, and he was easily available for any questions that we had. The room was very clean, the air conditioning worked great, and we loved the view and being able to sit on the spacious balcony. Also, having a drying rack on the balcony made it easy for us to clean our clothes! Breakfast was absolutely perfect and had everything you could have wanted (coffee, juice, fresh fruit, bread, cereal, yogurt, tiramisu!). Francesco really made our stay in Tropea very enjoyable. I would recommend Donna Rosa to anyone! We have no complaints at all.

Initial difficulty to find correct loaction, since address was a few hundred meters off. After calling the host, we received an updated address and arrived at the hotel, where we were greeted by the hosts parents. No inglish, just italian. But very easy to communicate with a lot of fun.

The host was amazing! He collected me from the station and drove me back there when I left. The room was really nice with a nice balcony and a great view. The breakfast was good and in pleasant surroundings. It was a short walk to visit the old city. There is a good restaurant about 100 mts from the accomodation. Very good place to stay.

The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was nice. Location was good, very walkable from everywhere in the town of Tropea. Best thing was the host Francesco! He was amazingly friendly and helpful!! He even upgraded my room for free because there was space! I would definitely stay again and Francesco's hospitality is a big reason!

Maybe the only minus is that sometimes the room was quite cold despite the AC.

The hostess was excellent and obliging He directed (lost) us to his accommodation found us a car spot and carried our luggage ( we r 79 yrs) to our room which was very clean a bit tight but the view and balcony ( 2 chairs and table ) was excellent Easy walk to town Communal kitchen with yogart xons tea coffee etc was very good great value for money. Donna Rosa is a beautiful property that is well kept and looked after and I had an excellent stay. The rooms are big and spacious and kept exceptionally clean. Francesco is super friendly and helpful, upon greeting you and giving lots of tips and info of the area! Felt like a home away from home. Hope to come back one day!

The wonderful hospitality provided by the hosts. They turned around what could have been difficult for me into one of my best stays in Italy. Look them up if you want great hospitality along with all the elements of a well run b&b.

Can’t think of a thing!

we had a short 2 night stay in Tropea and this was the perfect place to stay - close walking distance to the town center, but also a quick walk to the train station and very quiet at night. Francesco was a wonderful, friendly host and provided a simple but nice breakfast each morning, and even allowed us to have an early breakfast on the day we had to leave.

not in the town center, but for the price it’s an excellent location

This place is incredible! The owner Francesco and his mum are very friendly, they allowed us to choose the room by ourselves :). Francesco gave us a lot of tips and recommendations, we found an amazing restaurant thanks to him. The room was beautiful and cozy with quite big bathroom and nice view from the balcony. If I will go back to Tropea I will definitely choose this place again.
