Location and nostalgia says it all.

Someone had access to my room, maybe the house keeper at 8 am in the morning without even a knock on the door

Excellent hotel in this price range. Stayed in the older part (not the tower) in a room with 2 queen beds. Room had clearly been refurbished in recent years. Good size, comfortable beds, large desk and plenty full storage. Even had a little room instead of a wardrobe for hanging clothes and storing suitcases. Fridge was a decent size for a hotel and was quite running. Coffee machine and amenities seemed good quality, though I didn’t make use of them being a tea drinker (bring a travel kettle of tea is your thing!) The AC worked very well. Didn’t need to have it on much as the room stayed relatively cool despite the hot July temperatures outside. The shower had good pressure. Our room had the shower over a bath, but I’m sure other options are available if this doesn’t suit you. Nice bright white fluffy towels. The lobby is lovely. Spacious and cool with lots of comfortable seating. Staff were excellent. Very professional, friendly and responsive to requests. Speaking with some other guests, it seems this hotel has a loyal customer base who use this hotel when in town. Location is fantastic. Plenty of restaurants and boutique shops on Las Olas. Short drive to the beach, marina and harbour where cruises leave from. I had a hire car and pre-arranged to use the parking structure adjoining the hotel. Park kerbside and check in. Staff will give you a parking permit to display and instructions on which floor to park at. There’s an elevator from each parking level down to the hotel lobby. Parking was $26 per day for self-park (there is a more expensive full valet option. I was happy to pay this as used to London prices. Had calculated cost of parking when searching for hotel and this still came out better value than many other options that boasted free parking.

The lighting in the room consisted of side lamps, lights along the base of the entertainment unit that turned on with motion detection and cute reading lights that popped out from the headboard. There were no ceiling lights. With all the lights on, it was too dim for me. I prefer to have the option to turn on brighter lights. Minor issue and wouldn’t stop me coming here again. In hindsight, I should have mentioned it to front desk staff as it’s possible they’d have been able to provide an additional lamp.

This was our second stay here. The location is absolutely the best. The staff was friendly and courteous. The hotel lobby, grounds, restaurant etc.. we're very clean. The bed was comfortable. The bar by the front entrance was inviting, good food and a great time. Access to the water taxi was nice. Definitely recommended if you never did that before.

The room had a couple issues. The bathtub had its enamel coating peeling off. The tile had some issues, gaps needing grout. The walls needed some repair, cracks and just looking run down. We tried their Boathouse Restaurant along the water on their premises. While at the bar it was great, but we got a table and it was a 180 turn. Waitress took almost 15 minutes before even coming to the table. Another 20 minutes before our appetizers came out. Then never came back for our entrée order. I tracked her down for the check and she claimed they were busy. (We live in a seashore resort town that lives on restaurants patronage and know what busy is...they were NOT busy by any means). Will not be going back there. Recommend restaurant inside hotel itself and/or the bar.

Hotel's location was superb. It was right at the center of restaurants and shopping. The beach was a few minutes drive. Hotel had ample parking spaces. The room I stayed on was spacious enough. I loved the huge closet with a door where I can hang my clothes. Staff was helpful when you need anything.

Wish they had better tasting coffee and a microwave inside the room. Or a complimentary breakfast would suffice given the price of this hotel. The room had a moldy smell.

The location is fabulous. We enjoyed lounging by the pool and watching the boats go by. Las Olas Blvd. is a huge if activity , shops, boutiques restaurants bars, there’s always something to do or watch. We hired bikes from the nearby rental stand and rode around the area that was fun.the hotel , as usual , was excellent.

The first room we stayed in Was close to the elevator and rather noisy as people were coming and going. We then moved to a better room in the new tower. I would recommend those rooms. The hotel, graciously accepted, parcels and packages We had delivered there, for our collection, at no charge .

Excellent location and a great room with a very comfortable bed. The food at the Boathouse Restaurant was also very good and was great value.

I did not dislike anything

The location was fantastic. The lobby is nice, with plenty of space to relax. We like that this is a historic hotel. We liked that we could exit on the riverside by the riverwalk, or on Ave. Las Olas for shopping and dining.

We requested a room with a walk-in shower for the 85 year old senior in our party. They were able to accommodate us with a smaller room, with which we were happy. However, they told us they would not give us a refund for the lower price. I understand that, but it would have been nice if they gave us a credit at one of their 5 restaurants instead. They didn't offer any compensation for the downgrade.

The bed was really comfortable. The room was well equipped and spacious enough even though it was labelled a micro room.Staff were very friendly. Pool was lovely with a great view of the river.

The bed only had 3 pillows and no spares in the cupboard. Our room was between the lift and the housekeepers cupboard so you heard everything. People chatting outside the lift, lift going up and down, and the staff dragging things in and out of the cupboard. The blinds in the bathroom were dirty, they had black, slightly sticky dust all over them.

There are so many great places to eat and shop all in walking distance. The staff was fantastic. The room was lovely. The beds were very cozy and comfortable. I did notice a great deal of dust build up in the AC receiver vent. The system could use a good cleaning. I have a lung condition so I tend to notice these kinds of things. We will definitely stay there again!

A larger refrigerator and an in room microwave would have been nice.

Room was beautiful and free breakfast in room every day. Also liked the French mineral water service with 2 bottles delivered every day to the fridge. Fresh ground coffee to make in your room was delivered every day. Maid service was excellent and not imposing. Nice staff. Lastly, the rooftop bar and restaurant were excellent and they made great cocktails. This is a very welcoming and well run hotel. Excellent downtown location near King St and retail shopping.
