Overall the hotel is situated in a nice location, perfect to explore the western part of the island. The facilities are well-maintained and the staff is very nice and helpful. The room was nice and spacious, cleaning was done daily.

Breakfast was the same every morning, so some changes here and there would be nice. Generally, the food was not up to our expectations. Too few vegetables and fruit, salads seemed like a weird mix of leftovers, I think simple leafy vegetable salads would do much better. Frequently the meals lacked seasoning.

The location was great. Right on the beach and a nice little boardwalk. A park up the street for kids to play at as well. The kids club was great for the kids as well. Staff was amazing and super helpful

The food was great but there could have been more kid options.

The resort was very well maintained and staff were very friendly, helpful and accommodating particularly to my wife who was disabled. The entire resort is wheelchair accessible. A good variety of food with a different theme every night in the main restaurant. There were two alternative restaurants with a la carte menus which were excellent with more traditional Portuguese cuisine.

The gym is small but could be a little better equipped with some free weights and perhaps a pull up bar. Booking system for the a la carte restaurants didn't really make sense. We were encouraged to book in advance presumably because they were busy and popular but on 4 occasions we managed to get a booking they weren't very busy and on one occasion we were the only diners.

If I could give this hotel a rating of 20/10 I would. Everything was exceptional. Every single member of staff was amazing and so so friendly and helpful. The place was spotless. Facilities were great. We had a rental car dropped to the door for us. The vegetarian options every day at every meal were delicious and plentiful I have never been so spoiled for choice! We literally cannot wait to return. Thank you so much for a wonderful trip. It was our first family trip with our almost 1 year old. We hope to see you all again soon. Also if you want a tasty drink off menu ask for Luis you won't regret it.

- [ ] The laundry is ridiculously priced : 7.5 euro = about 9 US$ to wash one t-shirt. I imagine the people working at the laundromat are paid minimum wage- so some super-rich become Uber- rich and thumbing their noses at the hotel guests. - [ ] The cloth bracelet we had to wear permanently ( as all inclusive guests) was a real pain: got wet when washing hands , got in the plate when slicing my food, not to mention when using the bidet. Other all inclusive resorts have a rubber bracelet with a chip attached that allowed you to open your room too. I imagine the Savoy is billion dollar business and can afford bracelets to match the rest of the amazing experience.

We loved the location and the food. The room was very comfortable for a family as it had the kitchenette and a supermarket just outside the building. The swimming pools were beautiful and clean and the sea was just across the walking path. The all inclusive was a real one without hidden prices and the restaurants had great variety every day with themed dinners. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The animation was present but discreet and our daughter had the chance to enjoy cookies cooking one day in the playroom. We loved it and would love to go back.

All meals were varied, fresh and tasty. Every day the main buffet changed. There were Brazilian, Mdersian, Asian and other dishes Finally, I had an adventure that is worth describing because it is unique. As I was getting a cab to the airport, the cab driver's phone rang. It turned out that it was a call from an employee at the hotel's front desk with the information that I had left my cell phone in my room. I was a little frightened, because in the phone there is a bank, hundreds of contacts, photos and other important, things (unrecoverable) and plane tickets. We agreed , the hotel employee will hire a new cab to deliver the phone to the airport. And in 40 minutes I already had the phone in my pocket, it turned out that I also left a book. This uncharacteristic action of hotel employees showing care for their guests is unusual and I am very grateful for this help

There were no things I didn't like.

My husband and I booked a sea view room direct via booking.com. We liked the free private transfer to the hotel, it took around 50 minutes. Hotel staff were very friendly on arrival and very informative and happy to help. Our room was spacious and clean with a fantastic view. We were on the 5th floor room no 510 overlooking the pool area and on to the beach. The buffet food was as expected from a buffet. We were able to book lunch and dinner in the A la carte restaurant for the duration of our stay (5 nights) if they had available. We had lunch and dinner on 2 of the days, all very nice, lovely décor and atmosphere. There are a handful of restaurants next to the hotel in the marina area if you wish to eat out. We had lunch and dinner in one of the restaurants, very nice and welcoming. There is a supermarket and a chemist directly opposite the hotel for any supplies you may need. There is a hotel bus that takes you to Funchal centre for 30 euros each return, We booked the bus one way to Fenchal on our last day to do some sight seeing and then took aa taxi to the airport later that day for a further 35 euros. We had a very relaxing holiday with no issues at all. Just what we wanted. The hotel staff very friendly and helpful.

The all inclusive drinks were okay but could have been better. The coffee machine in the buffet restaurant was dispensing hot chocolate when requesting cappuccino or latte. The last few days we selected black coffee and added milk from the cereal station-much nicer. The coffee from the pool area is nicer but a little strong for me but my husband like it. The drinks at the pool are self service which is easier, the beer was okay but not a fan of the wine. We tried the sangria which was much nicer so we drank that the last few days of our holiday.

The hotel is cosy, not so big. It is located in a calm area. The suites are large. The food is very good, deluciuos and variuos. The New year's eve was very special. We enjoed it a lot. Bravo for the staff!!!

The suite are large, but not confortable: there is a sleeping possibility in the luving room, but no chest of drawers or any wardrobe where to put the things and clothes. The wardrove in the bedroom also strange and not practical- if you like to hand dresses- no chance to hand them full lengh. The terrace is huge, but there is no sunbed in it or some kind of relax chairs ( just a table and two chairs). The fasilities like sauna's are dated, as the rooms. The cleaning of the rooms were not done well sometimes- missing half of the towels, shampoo...

We loved the hotel. The room was big and spacious. The kitchenette was a good size. The hotel was beautifully decorated for Christmas - we enjoyed the lounge areas, the bars, the shows each night. Staff were very attentive and came several times to our room to deal with small issues. Really appreciated a baby bath, pack n play, and stroller that was available at no extra charge. The all inclusive package was excellent value for money, and we loved that snacks and drinks were available all day and night. The area is great, with plenty of shops in close driving distance, and playgrounds for the kids.

Parking - the lot offered was incredibly narrow and stressful to navigate. Smoking - this seemed to be allowed everywhere outside (even though certain areas were designated as non-smoking) which was hard with two small children. Wish the outdoor pool had been heated.
