Great chill and quiet place to stay. The communication with staff was very easy and clear. The other guests were very nice and respectful. The room and the facilities were clean. The kitchen had everything you would need to stay in and have dinner there. A fairly comfortable bed and great view made my time in the room very pleasant. The location wasn't too hard to find with our car and wasn't touristy at all.

Nithing major to complain, but for completeness, I'll nitpick. Sao Vicente tends to be very wet and rainy, and the small room got quite humid. Pillows can be a bit more comfortable (but they are not worse than your average hotel) I could hear some noise from the kitchen/next rooms, but nothing disrupting.

We had a great stay at Gardens Guest House. The place was very clean, with many helpful facilities and extras that facilitated our stay like bath towels, shower products and a very well equipped kitchen! Including a jacuzzi. The lady with the bright green eyes was very helpful and kind when I was trying to work out the coffee machines with sleepy eyes.

The roads to the guest house were very steep and dangerous, the parking was also on the edge of the road but we managed and embraced the adventure! We also would've liked a double bed rather than 2 moving twin rooms but for the price and hospitality it was really not a problem.

I had an unforgettable stay at this incredible guest house – a true slice of paradise. The bedroom was absolutely wonderful: cozy, spotless, and tastefully decorated, offering breathtaking views that perfectly capture the essence of both the mountains and the sea. Waking up to the sound of birds singing and the view of nature all around was pure magic. The garden was lush and beautifully maintained, like something out of a dream. I especially loved relaxing in the jacuzzi while soaking in the serenity of the surroundings. The shared kitchen was fully equipped with everything I needed, making it easy to feel right at home. Every moment here felt peaceful and rejuvenating – I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect getaway.

The silence was deafening and very therapeutic in both abode and in Sao Vincente itself. The guest house was fantastic in everyway in terms of facilities, location, aesthetics and the scenery it offered. It is run/owned by a very helpful, social and laid back guy who goes out his way to oblige. Sao Vincente is small but offers a multitude of facilities in terms eateries, pubs and cafes all at affordable prices (cheap as chips really). For athletic types there are very scenic walks/runs, good mountain biking routes and some surfing going on. Lastly if your feeling the pressure I suggest this is the place to come to relieve that stress.

This is a lovely little homestay/hostel in the heart of São Vicente and about 6 minutes (by car) from the beach. Very handy access to all places on the north coast! SO CLEAN The shared bathroom was very (++) clean which was nice because I don’t usually do shared bathrooms. The kitchen was terrific, exceptionally well-stocked with all the necessities and a few nice little extras. Take advantage of it! Guests were very respectful and the area is nice and quiet with just a few sheep bleating to lull you to sleep. The view is fantastic, and Joakim is a great host, as well.

Just be aware it's not too close to the town, there are some snack bars nearby. I managed to visit without a car but i would not recommend unless you are fit and don't have many bags.

Very clean and lovely place, fully equipped kitchen even the basics for cooking including oil, pepper and salt. There is a laundry service for a decent price and very flexible and nice staff. We really enjoyed sitting out at the terras. Really an amazing place. Would definitely recommend.

We had a double room with private bathroom. There is a floorboard in the bathroom which doesn’t completely connect to the floor, which is why it collects water and that way the bathroom floor is never really dry. It was also hard to reach the sockets next to the bed as they are behind the nightstand and there is only one, so you have to choose between your night stand light or charging.

I had an amazing time at this Guest House. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, with beautifully decorated rooms that were spotless and comfortable. The host was incredibly warm and attentive, offering great local tips and making sure I had everything I needed. The location was perfect—peaceful yet close to major attractions. The view of the mountains and the sea are breathtaking. The stay felt like a home away from home, and I can’t wait to come back. Highly recommend!

I liked everything

I thoroughly enjoyed my time at this Guest House and regretted not being able to stay longer. The facilities are fantastic, with a fully equipped kitchen, designated refrigerator shelves for each room, and a terrace offering breathtaking views of both the mountains and the sea. The atmosphere is peaceful and relaxing, perfect for unwinding. My room was modern, comfortable, and well-appointed. Overall, it was a wonderful stay, and I would love to return!

Great place to stay in Sao Vicente - nice and quite house with amazing view with all equipment which you need. The location is perfect to plane hikes (amazing levada faja de rodriguez is really nearby). Perfect place to stay for everybody ( family, group of friends, solo traveller, couples) - the house is really spaceous. The owner of this house is really helpfull during all our stay - we are really thankfull, that we can meet somebody like him. We stayed there just for 2 days (1 week trip to Madeira), but definetely not for the last time. Thanks for such a great experience.
