A great place to stay in Madeira! Really well located in Ponta do Sol, with easy access to the beach and local bars/restaurants - and it also happens to be one of the sunniest places on the island. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the staff were really friendly. There is an indoor pool and a lovely rooftop terrace which is perfect for watching the sunset.

Parking was a little difficult as the dedicated garage got very crowded and there is limited street parking nearby, but we found a rhythm that worked for us after a few days. The wifi in the room also barely worked - we didn't mention to staff as we were able to use data on our phones instead, but would be a problem if you were reliant on wifi.

The room is great - spacious and all of the rooms have a sea view. Very clean. The location is great - the beach is beautiful and a short walk up to a viewpoint where you can watch the sunrise. A few local restaurants and bars around in this very cute and quaint seaside town. Easy to get to from the airport, and to explore other parts of Maderira. Breakfast has a good selection of cooked, cold food, and fruit. Nice to have a dinner option - 30EUR for a buffet, with a different theme of food each night inc. 1 drink. Good if you want a lot of food after a long day of adventures. Staff were friendly.

The hotel parking is very limited. The underground car park is tiny and only fits about 10 cars - not enough for the number of guests, and also very difficult to manoeuvre in and out of when it's full. The road outside is right on the beach and also fills up very quickly, so you may need to be prepared to park behind the hotel in the town (paid), or in the tunnels nearby (free but very wet). It's not super expensive to pay. The pool being by the front entrance means that there is a strong smell of chlorine when you go down to breakfast/leave the hotel. The gym/fitness facilities is a bit of a joke... it is literally a bike/treadmill and cable machine. The sauna was also out of service the whole time we were there.

The manageress and all the staff, on reception as well as in the restaurant plus the cleaners were very helpful and friendly.

Sadly the beach across the road was being de-stoned in readiness for the summer months and it was very noisy and disturbing throughout the whole week. We were unable to really relax and enjoy the balcony which should have been a quiet and peaceful space. Obviously this was not a direct fault of the hotel as it was a public renovation. We experienced the same two years previously in May 2022 when we stayed at the same hotel for a family wedding. We had loved the hotel then which, despite the noise, we chose to return.

Cleanliness and room service is the biggest advantage. Beautiful view from the window, comfortable bed, spacious rooms. The food is delicious, everyone will find something for themselves. Delicious bread, fresh fruit, hot and cold dishes. Very clean canteen. The location is another plus. Great as a place from which you can get everywhere on the island by car. The hotel is located on the street, but it is not passable, so it is not noisy. In the immediate vicinity of the guarded beach and restaurant. Beautiful sunsets.

The biggest disadvantage is the lack of parking. We booked this hotel because it offers parking. As it turned out, there were only about 20 parking spaces. There was no day when any were free. There are free parking spaces in the area, but when renting a car I would prefer to have a private parking lot and not worry about the car being left on the street. Very weak wifi signal in the room.

This hotel’s location on the beach is really nice, free parking underneath is a savior! Our room was very big, with Juliet balcony . Clothes line in the bathroom was very handy. We stayed two days, and for the duration we ate there breakfast and dinners. Indoor swimming pool, and two tapes of sauna helped us to relax. Hotel staff, was very welcoming, professional and accommodating

The hotel exceeded the expectations, the staff was very friendly and helpful, also flexible with various asks. They allowed us to early checkin at 10am instead of at 2pm. Is good for travelling with kids. Liked the pool and sauna and terrace. The room had a lot of space. Dinner buffet may seem expensive, but is a good option to go to with toddlers, is free for small kids.

WiFi was quite slow we had to use phone internet isntead. On some days the quality of room cleaning was not sufficient, e.g. the floors were not cleaned.

Really comfortable and clean hotel with all the amenities one would need for a stay in Madeira. The room was very clean and the beds were comfortable. We didn't get to use the indoor pool and spa facilities, though they looked clean and well maintained (it was very hot in July when we stayed so we were outside or in the natural pools which were cooler). The staff was really nice and the location right on the beach was impeccable. Would stay again for sure!

The rooms need to have a card key inserted in order to use the electricity, so that's a note during the hotter days as it was tough to keep the room a decent temperature while.we weren't there. Parking is a bit tough when busy cause the garage fills up quickly. We left early to take some pictures one morning and I left something in the room, and when I went to go back into the hotel all the doors were locked. You're not able to enter the building with a code or key card so I had to knock a bunch on the door before someone came and opened it for me. Not a big deal but annoying.

The Enotel Sunset Bay hotel is perfectly located in Ponta do Sol close to the beach and the ocean. All was very quiet which I appreciated, I had a very large room with sea view.

The dinner buffet is not refilled if you have dinner at 20-20:30, almost no fruit, only a bowl of fruit salad almost empty at that time. They sbould offer the same good tropical fruit as they do in the morning. The staff is ok however not exceptionnel.

This hotel is in the best location of Ponta Sol. It's right in front of the beach and around the corner from 3 or 4 really good restaurants/bars. Our room was spacious and had a window out to the beach, which we opened and sat to enjoy the view. Most importantly, the two ladies at the front desk were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was excellent with hot and cold options, and they even have a chef that will cook you something to order. In terms of attractions we did the tranquil and scenic walk to Madalena do mar (45min) and the two Lavadas (moinho and nova).

Unfortunately, the beds are single beds. It would great if they offered a proper double bed option.

everything apart from the bar not being open throughout the day. beautiful room with a view & balcony, lovely food.

every time we went to the bar if was closed but we were told the receptionist would get us drinks of we asked. We only needed soft drinks nothing major & we always waited until there wasn’t anyone at the desk. After the huffing & puffing & eye rolling from her, she then slammed the drinks on the bar. Very rude!
