Breakfast was exceptional, always freshly made eggs, bacon, selection of cheeses and hams, vegetables, selection of fruits, cereals, sweets. Private parking on the property. Large swimming pool, sauna included in price, pool bar with snacks, very nice hotel restaurant with seatings in the garden. Spacious rooms with balcony.

They should buy a coffee machine which makes real coffee, not the Nespresso which tastes like chocolate. Would be nice if there was a small fridge in the rooms. The furniture and room doors are quite old and make squeaking noise when opening/closing. If you have low profile car, do not try to park in the underground garage, the way in/out is very steep and you will scratch the front bumper. Park in front of reception instead.

Excellent value for money. Room in third floor was very nice and had a beatiful balcony with a view of the sea. Shower worked well. Breakfast is OK. Amazing terrace with stunning view and wonderful garden. Staff was excellent. The location is perfect, as it is not in Funchal which can be quite busy, but not too far away, and also it is right next to a big supermarket, a farmacy, and a couple of traditional restaurants that were very good (I recommend "A Ginja" which is two blocks away).

The coffee in the breakfast could be better. You can tell that the hotel has seen better days and it requires some maintenance, but that has not reduced the quality and comfort of my stay at all, it is just an aesthetic thing. The air conditioner in the room was a little bit noisy.

The rooms with sea view have a high view to the horizon and in this case to the ocean and ribeira brava. Rooms are big and well equiped. Toilet is ok and bed as well.~ Breakfast was good We stayed only one night ( a couple of hours ), nothing much to say

When we went into the room, over the table were 2 glasses and water, and under the glasses it was full of little hunts. We like nature, we went to madeira because of that mostly, but when we get an expensive room on a 4* hotel we don't expect to have hunts over your breakfast table inside the room ( not even in africa, ahah ).

Former high class hotel, with a renovation process ongoing, with a good view and easy parking space (also an underground parking is available). A big supermarket is close by, with also a bar inside. Breakfast is quite good, only the coffee/cappuccino etc are not very good ( from an automatic machine).

We stayed for a week in Hotel Quinta. Of course it's a bit out dated but you get good quality and value for money. The room is good and clean. The bed sure is fine and a good size. We had a little fridge in the room. Nice view from our balcony. Breakfast is what you expect and more. Fresh fruit every morning (banana pineapple, melon, watermelon, orange). A selection of scrambled eggs, fried eggs, bacon and sausage. Yoghurt, croissants, sweets, cake and applepie. Tomato, cucumber and salad. Every day the cook prepared something extra. Top that off with a very friendly staff, clean pool and that made that we had a very pleasant stay at this hotel. The heart of Funchal at a 15 minutes drive is perfect if you don't want to stay in the busy centre of the city.

We missed a watercooker but we survived that. ...... 😉

Like I've seen the comments before booking, the hotel does need a bit of refurbishment, here and there you can see the wear and tear. It clearly was a top notch place in its glory days. However, the place was clean, the bed was super comfortable and the staff was one of the most friendly and nice I've met in quite a while. Always smiling and super helpful. The pool is really nice and clean, great for the few times we took a break from hiking. Also a had a great view of the ocean.

Not necessarily disliked, but the breakfast could be changed up a bit. It was ok, but a little diversity would be better. And the coffee was instant. But all in all not terrible, just needs a bit of diversity.

I really liked the rooms because I was able to access my kids. Breakfast was excellent the lady served us breakfast had good customer service and she was approachable. The location of the hotel excellent in quiet environment and friendly neighbourhood. I enjoyed sauna all receptionist very kind and ready to help they made me feel at home they were all brilliant very kind friendly and willing to help. I really recommend this hotel the sea view to all rooms perfect. Swimming pool very clean. I like the supper maket

No fridge in the room small fridge can make a difference No iron + ironing board Air conditioning was not working on hot days we failed to sleep We had a problem with one of the toilet but was fixed No kettle in the room but when we asked for it the receptionist provided it I don't remember her name but she was fantastic and all other receptionist helped us with ice any time we need ice. The only thing we did not like That much was breakfast. All the hot dishes, for example, sausages, omelet, eggs was absolutely disgusting for me. It had really strange taste. But I did like the bread with butter, ham and vegetables, so I could make a sandwich myself. And fruits!! they were very delicious. My husband didn’t like the coffee, it also had cheap strange taste

Fantastic place if you like a vintage feel with everything you need. Great sized pool and sunbathing area on the top terrace, two saunas (one male and female), you get pool towels too. There's a pool bar open all day and a restaurant open in the evenings (you need to book). Really large sized rooms and large beds, all with balconies and sea and garden views. Rooms serviced everyday and you get bath gels, shampoos and body cream etc, safety box in room, parking onsite infront of the hotel or in the underground car park, lovely surrounding gardens. The breakfast is great, the chef made a special plate of hot food as I was vegan. Brilliant location with lots of nearby local restaurants and bars, there's a fantastic new wine and tapas bar round the corner and woodfired pizza at the bottom of the garden - the reception team are really helpful and give you a map of all the neighbouring places. There's a huge supermarket across the road too. We absolutely loved it here and can't recommend it enough.

Nothing really, a shame the vintage bar on the 5th floor seemed to be closed when we were there.

I found this to be a very charming and unique accommodation! All the rooms have an ocean view and are decent in size. The weather wasn't great during our stay, but otherwise the pool area would have been a vibe. There is also a big garden area that was nice to walk around, even if rather unkempt. I found the reception staff exceptionally friendly and helpful :) There is a big supermarket just across the street and several good restaurant options nearby. We could only imagine this place in its former glory!

Some of the facilities were not in complete working order - we were not able to get the sauna to work and the cocktail bar/library were closed during our stay.
