The suit was spacious and we had a lot of storage, it was clean and comfortable and we had an amazing view from the balcony. The staff was friendly and the breakfast was really delicious for a hotel breakfast- lots of things to chose from. Value for money was really good and we really enjoyed our stay. Of course the rooms could use a little refreshment but we knew from the photos how the design would be and we had amazing holiday. It’s not a long ride to Funchal center if you rent a car and there is a lot of street parking around the hotel (paid parking but is not expensive and free from 8pm on weekdays and on the weekends for almost whole day).

Everything was as we expected and for the price this hotel exceeded our expectations

The pools, jacuzzi, gym and sauna were all included in the price and they weren't crowdy. The breakfast options were superb (multiple fruits, decrusted bread, toaster, cereal station and so on). We also had an upgrade to a suite which was a really pleasant surprise (just don't expect the staff to wash your dishes). The view to the inner coourtyard where the pools were was also really nice, like a private jungle.

The closet doors couldn't be closed properly and for lunch/dinner for the price of 19 euros we think the drinks should be included (some juices at least).

Great location , ample breakfast and lots of seating. Beautiful pool outside with lots of lounge seats and nice grounds . Indoor pool too is nice and has a very small gym . Room nice size and we'll appointed with a small patio with table and two chairs . My room on the 6th floor had an ocean view . AC worked really well and made it comfortable at night. Mall across the street with grocery store and restaurants. And shopping There is a variety of amazing walking around and lots of places to eat. The Suite Hotel da Ajuda is a great value and I would stay here again .

Traffic noise at times could be a little annoying but can't hear it when closed up . Beds were certainly not pillow top style but I still slept well and the AC worked well . Not a big deal. Hallways could use a little sprucing up but it is an older hotel so considering the price not at all a deal killer .

This hotel is great value for the money. Room made up every day; front desk is 24/7. Very pretty grounds with grass and trees. Pools are excellent—indoor and outdoor pools appear to be recently refurbished, both of them heated. Yes, you read correctly, the outdoor pool is heated! Unlike almost every other outdoor pool in Madeira, you can go in it in January/February. Indoor hot tub was clean and well maintained, though it could have been hotter. Sauna was also clean and well maintained and very hot. Kitchenette has a fridge, cooktop, pot, pan, kettle, silverware, dishes—enough to make grilled cheese sandwiches and soup. Shower had good pressure and temperature. TV has lots of channels including English language ones. Very good location—short walk to water, and the Forum shopping mall is across the street. Bar/lounge in lobby has live music almost every night. Yes, it is old and worn, but when taking the price into account, this is an excellent hotel. For those giving negative reviews, they should have stayed at one of the many very nice resort hotels in the area…for double the price.

Kitchenette could have used a corkscrew and spatula. Gym was old and poorly equipped; weight machine was old and broken.

This is a fantastic place considering the value for the price.I went through the reviews and many negative reviews that make no sense. Rooms are spacious, with a balcony and kitchenette, bed comfy, toilet all good. The breakfast buffet is offering and covering all the options that you can have, all fresh and great. Parking on the street is easy and in front of the hotel. The pool, sauna and jacuzzi are the best thing after hiking and walking day. Overall a great experience. Recommend

The only mistake that they made was room service forgot to put towels and after saying it to reception, they put, I believe by mistake, a dirty towel. They apologised and gave us new towels

Really friendly staff. Good facilities. Good breakfast. Great water pressure and firm mattresses. Well located in terms of public transport and well known making any booked excursions a breeze. The airport bus stops just down the road in both directions.

Not a dislike, more of an observation. The hotel is old and it shows in the sanitary fittings (at least in our room). It's a bit "tired". If you do not mind that (which we did not) it's a great stay. If you like a little true vintage, this is a great place. if you want modern, it might not be for you.

Large heated pool, coffee shop in the grounds spacious room with mini kitchenette and fridge, very handy good views from the balcony of the pool and the sea so close to restaurants and coffee shops, as well as the bus stop into town walking distance to the Lidos

Staff friendly with the exception of one grumpy receptionist who was very unprofessional in her attitude and chose to argue rather than solve the situation. Apart from her, the rest of the staff were excellent.

Is not I didn't like, perhaps is more an advice for the management The hotel furniture deserves a refreshing change... everything in the ground floor bar and rooms looks quite old and broken The sofas were not close to being comfortable... the curtains in the rooms were very dirty, needs a good wash or exchange as well ... I can not understand why the hallway carpets look like suffered some sort of huge water leak and all carpet are left stained In general, the Hotel looks good, but needs a huge refreshing change A lot of room to improve We will be back possibly 😀

The rooms were comfortable and the cleaning was exceptional. The cleaning staff and receptionists were also very kind and helpful. The location is in the resort area, so about a 40 minute walk from town, but it has a large shopping mall with everything you need and a laundromat across the road. It is also located on the airport shuttle bus route, making it convenient to arrive and depart.

The rooms could do with some updated utensils; a kettle and a chopping board would be useful to complement the stove top for those who intend to cook. Regarding the pool area, it is respectable but the spa is very small and frequented by families who generally don’t respect the 15 minute rule.
