The roomy space and the good functioning airco, but not too loud. The friendly staff at the reception and at the breakfast buffet were exceptionally kind and welcoming and helpful, best hotel staff from all the hotels we have stayed before. Also love the pool and the facilities, like new pool towels every day besides the shower towels. Especially the bubble bath and the infinity pool were absolutely the best.

We didn’t order roomservice every day so we expected that the bedsheets would be changed when we asked for roomservice, but they didn’t, I thought it was strange the third day when it felt a bit sticky, but thought it was only me, but the next day we asked roomservice and the bedsheets contained the same stains, I knew for sure, they don’t change the bedsheets regularly, which it is not good since it was a humid climate and sweat was unavoidable.

The hotel is very well located adjacent to the fairly level promenade. There are bus stops right outside enabling easy travel into Funchal or in the opposite direction. Within the vicinity there are various restaurants and shops and I think the location is excellent with beautiful sea views. I loved the outdoor pools and the bright coloured leaves and flowers of the well-maintained gardens. The public areas are very clean and attractive and have good Wi-Fi signals. The buffet breakfast was excellent with a huge choice of hot and cold items, including foods suitable for people with special diets. I was surprised to find that even champagne was on offer! The staff in the dining room were very attentive and the room was kept clean and tidy throughout my stay. I met some very nice people which was great for a solo traveller. This gave me companionship on a couple of days and someone to eat breakfast with on another day. Discussions were very interesting. it was lovely to come back after being out one day to find a plate of fresh fruit in the room. Another day I was given a small bottle of Madeira wine when I made enquiries about the apartments available and the arrangements. It was very nice to have tea and coffee making facilities in the room with a variety of beverages available. Also great to have a small fridge.

I found the mattress rather hard and I would’ve liked to have a softer thin mattress topper. I found the pillows too deep and I would have preferred a thinner pillow. I used a cushion from the chaise longue. The room requires some minor refurbishment of one green wall which has several scuffed and grubby marks on it and the light proof curtains were damaged in the area where they would be pulled by guests. My major concern was that I locked my patio door to the adjacent garden right outside every day before leaving. On my return, I found that the door was unlocked and very slightly open every day. This was a security risk but nothing was taken during the week of my stay and valuables were kept in the safe.

This is a wonderful hotel, with pools surrounded by a beautiful tropical botanical garden. The rooms are spacious, well equipped and clean, with a beautiful panorama of the ocean, the staff is extremely friendly, smiling and helpful. Very varied breakfasts and dinners awaited us every day, with live music or even folklore shows. The hotel has its own parking garage, but you can also park your car on the street for free. We really enjoyed every day we spent here.

Lovely swimming pools, both indoors and outdoors. Amazing view from our room. Great location close enough to Funchal and on the promenade for nice walks. Also close to lots of restaurants. Good buffet breakfast with lots of choice. Nice and helpful staff.

Breakfast got a bit repetitive after a couple of days, it would maybe feel more special if it had more local products. There was music most nights and it was a bit loud in our room up till 11 that it stopped, possibly not great for younger kids, ours only complained once.

We had a wonderful experience at this brilliant hotel almost next to the ocean. From the very beginning of our arrival, we felt really welcomed here. When we arrived for the check-in, we even had a chance to taste the local wine, what a great experience! The staff at the breakfast restaurant was really kind, friendly and helpful, as well. On our second morning, we even got a fruit basket in our room which was a lovely surprise. We had a nice, spacious and quiet room with a kitchenette which we did not expected to be there. The view from the large balcony was amazing over the ocean. The gym was nice, the pools were large and, most importantly - clean and well maintained which cannot be said about all hotels. Will definitely return here when we visit Madeira again!

The beds could have been a bit comfier, it seemed that they had already served their purpose long enough.

We were given a warm welcome with a glass of madeira on arrival and a basket of fruit the following day. Our room was very comfortable with a powerful shower, kettle and a sea view. The included buffet breakfast offered a great choice and also included Portuguese custard tarts, pancakes, omelettes to order and fresh bread. We loved starting our day with breakfast overlooking the sea. The pool area is stunning with infinity pool, beautiful gardens and plenty of sunbeds. The tours offered are very good value. We did the full day West Coast tour which was very enjoyable. The hotel is a good 45 minute walk to the centre of Funchal but it's surrounded by good restaurants and shops and is right next to the promenade which is great for walks. There are always plenty of taxis available but we just took the no 1 and 2 buses into the centre for 2 euros. What we liked most about Pestana Promenade was that all of the staff were so helpful, efficient and friendly.

the pool is nice with different areas with a beautiful garden to provide quietness and shade. The staff is very helpful. The room is nice and nicely equipped. vey clean. The buffet breakfast is full with different seating areas indoor or outdoor . Beautiful view.

The restaurant for dinner is quite disappointing, the food is not very good, there is choice but anything needs to be upgraded to a satisfying taste.

The staff were absolutely amazing! The rooms were always cleaned impeccably and the pools were great! Breakfast buffet was delicious!

The evening meals weren’t as nice as the breakfast not as much choice especially if you don’t eat fish which my mum doesn’t. We had room service one evening as we have two young children and the dining room had a dress code which my husband didn’t come prepared for and the food was not great. Also there was definitely an age gap between us and everyone else, although it was definitely child friendly I think we were the youngest ones at the hotel by about 30+ years which was fine but we felt a bit guilty that we were bothering the other guests with our children so wouldn’t recommend for family holiday with children under 10.

I like the location in the cleanliness of the facility. I really love the breakfast buffets. excellent quality of food.

I didn’t like the gym. I don’t think he had enough equipment and it’s out in the open so that was not the best. I also didn’t like my room because it was down the basement looking out right at a very busy promenade so I could never have my windows open because people will be looking into my room.

Excellent location just in front of Lido promenade and few hundred meters from Lido swimming pools; very friendly and helpful personal; enjoyable breakfast 😊; nice comfortable room at least for 2 persons (our room was on a ground floor opposite to the swimming pool with nice trees and flowers between the terrace and the pool; a lot of possibilities for hiking and sightseeing. All over we had a very enjoyable stay!!
