The staff was nice and helpful, and we really enjoyed the large common spaces/amenities of the hotel - sitting area, outside areas, and indoor pool. There are tons of places to just hang out, both inside and outside, and the outside area is very green and well kept. There are tons of restaurants and bars all around the area.

I found the room to be a bit too small and parking was very difficult. There is not parking at the accommodation and finding a spot on the street nearby can be very challenging. There was no specific garage or parking option recommended by the hotel.

This hotel was so quiet and relaxing. We had the pool to ourselves most of the time and there was loads of sunbeds and chairs and beach towels were provided. The staff were all so lovely and welcoming and were available to answer any questions. Room 11 was really big and clean and the beds were so comfortable with a thin duvet which was great. Overall I would recommend this hotel it was near a number of restaurant's and shops and you can get picked up from there for all tours on get your guide.

Wide variety of food at breakfast. Excellent location with friendly local bar and good restaurants nearby, handy supermarket nearby, pleasant 20 minute walk to Funchal centre. Staff friendly and helpful. Hotel built in traditional style. Indoor and outdoor swimming pools were very nice to swim in after a hot day sightseeing.

Fridge in our room could have been a little larger.

Room was lovely, furniture old but rustic with a colonial feel. Lots of lust outdoor plants. Staff were very friendly and hospitable. Breakfast had a calm relaxing vibe

The outdoor space was quite shaded by 3-4pm in February, to be expected in a beautiful urban jungle but a bigger patch of warm sun would have been nice. Breakfast was o.k./nice but could have been better (note I ate it all just lacked variety)

Excellent location, beautifully decorated rooms, historic architecture and antiques in a tranquil tropical garden setting, ocean views, balconies, indoor and outdoor pools, exceptional cleanliness throughout the hotel, very courteous and helpful multilingual staff, outstanding breakfast buffet with locally grown fruits, regional food products and homemade cakes.

I only wish I'd spent more time at this hotel.

This was a truly wonderful place to stay in a very central location. The gardens, outdoor and inside pool were amazing. The accommodation was excellent and there was plenty of choice for breakfast. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. This was our first visit to Maderia and if returning would have no hesitation in booking this beautiful villa 😍

Welcoming and helpful staff (dealt promptly with any issues). Excellent location for Lido, restaurants and fast bus route to town/airport. Great to be in a more traditional classic building rather than one of the many impersonal concrete blocks built all along the coast. Two pools, outdoor and indoor, with the indoor pool/spa bath very modern.

very friendly helpful staff -Night guy lovely. i arrived very late in the evening and he provided me with some milk to have a cup of tea in room,which was mostly appreciated after a long trip. The owner was also able to facilitate a late check out for me as I had an evening flight. good size room with fridge and kettle, brand-new indoor pool with jacuzzi, outdoor pool with sun loungers breakfast included cereal, fresh bread, x2 hot food options changed each day ie sausages/ scrambled egg / bacon / mushrooms, fruit, homemade cake, tea/ coffee/ fruit juice This hotel is perfectly situated just off the main road where buses run Frequently. As a sole traveller i felt very safe walking around at day/night. When in the hotel, with the trees/ flowers and abundant of greenery, you forget your in the centre of a built-up area. thank you for a truly lovely weekend

I was in a room with no balcony so nowhere to hang my swim gear and towel to dry.

Little oasis in busy location with both an outdoor and indoor pool. Staff excellent. Close to a range of bars/restaurants and on main bus route into the old town with bus stop 50m away. Very quiet with no blaring music.

Smell of blocked drains in our room that was blamed on the time of year. Staff tried to resolve issue and the situation improved a little. Lots of steps and stairs to navigate if your room is away from the main building.
