Terrace Mar is a fantastic hotel. The location is fantastic with various restaurants around and easy transport into Funchal centre. The two single room had a fridge, stovetop and utensils. The staff were extremely helpful and the hot tub was great. The views from the rooftop pool/hot tub are breathtaking and there are three levels of loungers. There are also open terrace areas with tables and chairs for hanging out. The breakfast was good with various meats, eggs, breads and fruit.

The only thing that caused an issue was temperatures of the pool and hot tub. The pool is advertised as heated but out of the five nights I was there the pool only approached 27 degrees C on one day. The hot tub was usually heated nicely but, again, two days was much lower than the signposted 32 degrees C.

We really enjoyed our stay here , nice modern decor, large spacious apartment with good aircon system, everything you need to a self catering stay , new towels and bedding each day , welcome drink and some extra goodies in our room on arrival and relaxed quiet atmosphere around the hotel pool and jacuzzi area , we often had the pool to ourself which was nice , also had a nice but small honestly bar, great idea for enjoying a rooftop beer. We stayed over new year and the prices were very reasonable, perfect location for us , near lido area however only 15-20 min walk into town , half an hour walk to old town, many nice restaurants and bars in the area , sports bar on the corner . We visit Madeira every year and we will definitely return to this hotel .

There wasn’t anything at all we didn’t like , however If I had to think of something to improve on, it would be nice if the honesty bar stocked some mini wine bottles. Or something else to drink perhaps . Also they do have a small charge for sauna , which I felt was very fair however it might be a nice gesture to allow 1 use per stay for people .

Very spacious apartment with a fully equipped kitchenette. All amenities, such as a hair dryer, were provided as described. Balcony available. Great variety of breakfast options (eggs, meat products, fruits (some local), vegetables, dairy, bread, sweets, cereals, etc.). Heated swimming pool, which we didn't have time to use :). Courteous and helpful hotel staff. Big plus for the free parking (there's a catch worth knowing about - the size of the underground parking, but others mention this so I won't elaborate), which can be reserved.

It's not a disadvantage, but worth mentioning that the accommodation is at some distance from the center. But this is clearly visible on the map. Besides, taxis aren't expensive, and buses run regularly as well.

The hotel is in a great location — it’s easy to reach the city center, promenade, and other key spots. There are plenty of excellent restaurants nearby. The staff is absolutely amazing: very friendly and always happy to help. The rooms are spacious and spotless. It was also great to have a small kitchen, fully equipped with everything you might need. We didn’t cook, but it was very convenient for storing and washing fruits and snacks. Overall, I can honestly recommend this hotel — it offers great quality at a surprisingly low price.

Love the rooftop swimming pool, sauna and jacuzzi with an honesty bar! Great view from up there. Room cleaning every day is perfect! Lots of (paid) parking around the hotel. Great location close to restaurants and shops. Friendly staff. Huge room with balcony and kitchenette.

Balcony furniture could be more comfortable. Pillows are in need of replacement, espescially the smaller one, but still plus for two pillows in each bed. Hard to get parking in the hotel garage, you need to use street parking mostly with a limit amount of 2,50€ maximum.

- coffee at the buffet (but maybe one day the hotel will have a real coffee machine;) - a small parking lot, which requires some practice, but most importantly - free of charge (remember to make a reservation for your parking place earlier in advance!)

In general, the hotel is clean, cosy and fully equipped. As for the accommodation, we stayed in an apartment with a separate bedroom, kitchenette, two balconies and a huge bathroom. The kitchen was fully equipped, and the stove and refrigerator worked perfectly. The room had air-conditioning, and the bed was comfortable. The hotel has a simple pool on the terrace, an amazing view and a self-service bar. It also has a sauna and a jacuzzi. The hotel also has a reading room with a few shelves full of books, TV and board games. The staff was really nice and always available to help. The hotel is decorated with vivid colours and taste. Around the hotel, you can find all kinds of restaurants and small markets. Only 30 min walking distance from the centre of Funchal.

Upon arrival, we had an issue with the garage spot reserved. It is better to confirm the reservation a few days before arrival. In any case, the staff was very considerate and solved the problem promptly. For consideration, even though it is not necessarily bad, the hotel's parking garage is small and tricky to navigate. It is better to rent a smaller car.

Staff were extremely welcoming. They couldn’t have been more helpful. It’s was my boyfriend’s birthday they kindly left a delicious cake for him. The room was bright, clean and spacious. Good size fridge and cooking utensils. 2 balconies, One from the room and another 3 steps from your front door The pool and jacuzzi on the roof was such a great bonus, with an honesty box for ice cream etc. Lovely spot to relax away from the hustle and bustle. Super handy car parking under hotel. Make sure you pre book. Sadly we didn’t get breakfast as needed urgent treatment in the middle of the night. The staff were just so kind and helpful throughout the how ordeal we are truly thankful. We would definitely recommend this hotel and amazing staff

The rooms are huge! Great bed, functional kitchen, clean space! The pool and jacuzzi are really nice with crystal clear water! Staff is always cordial. The location is really good with restaurants and bars around. There is also a Pingo Doce Supermarket about 10 min from the hotel. For me the best thing was to see the sunshine from my balcony.

The garage is not big so only a few cars can park. So you have to book a parking spot in advance. I booked and that was not an issue.. but I wonder how it works when they have a full hotel.. The space available is not easy for big cars.

Well located in Sao Martinho within 20 minutes walk to the center, a lot of good restaurants in the vicinity. Clean, spacious rooms. A good choice of fruits for breakfast (paradoxically, absent in many other Madeira hotels). Comfortable beds and pillows. In all, an excellent value for money.

You can always find some shortcomings. The bathroom, though very spacious, has some little design flaws. The toilete paper is always jumping to the floor, and when you pick it up, watch out the metal pipes, if you are higher than 175 cm. The breakfast buffet is good, but a sort of monotonous, if you stay for a long period. We didn't like the air conditioner, it worked in a bit weird manner. But these shortcomings do not offset the positive features of this hotel.
