10 out of 10. The hotel boasts tasteful and elegant decor. The rooms are impeccably clean and well-maintained, featuring high-quality amenities. Both the rooms and the surrounding area are exceptionally quiet. The beds are incredibly comfortable. The room is equipped with a selection of CDs, numerous books, a CD player, a Polaroid, and a projector, adding a unique touch to the stay. The owner of the hotel is very warm and friendly, even offering small gifts and taking photos for guests. The staff are also friendly and helpful, providing recommendations for interesting nearby attractions and local restaurants. This hotel will be my top choice for accommodation when I return to Tokyo in the future.

Thank you Yoshi San for opening up Toe library for Global travelers. We started our Japan visit with stay at your beautiful, unique, tasteful and most creatively designed rooms. Stayed at room 2 and 5. Both so nicely done. I would recommend my friends across globe to stay here. It’s your warmth and friendly nature which can be felt in each and every thing in Toe library.

On Asakusa shrines doorstep making earlier morning visits a breeze. Enjoying the temple ground before the crowds swoop in is one of our highlights and another is the rooms at Toe Library! Incense and soothing music greeted us when entering the room, along with a gorgeous vintage decor. Our host assisted us with every one of our small requests immaculately and was a delight!

So much thought went into the design of the room to ensure that you feel comfortable in the space. The room was so clean and brought us a sense of calm after a busy day exploring Tokyo. The host is the best and most friendly one we have met in Japan so far! Thank you so much for your warmth and thoughtfulness.

This was our favorite stay in Tokyo! Our airline changed our flights due to a delay, so this was a last minute booking for our final day in Tokyo, and I'm so glad we ended up picking this place! Asakusa ended up being our favorite neighborhood in Tokyo, good for shopping, especially if you like quality, handmade goods. It's quiet without being boring and there's a friendly atmosphere that can be hard to find in some of Tokyo's busier neighborhoods. Senso-ji is and Sumida park are nearby. You can also walk to Tokyo Skytree if that's on your itinerary. We found a really great record shop/bar a few streets down that had a great vibe for a night out. The staff was super friendly. They recommended a breakfast place nearby which was fantastic and barely had a wait—this was actually the only time we were able to sit down at a restaurant in Tokyo for breakfast since options in the city are limited early in the morning and most of them require a reservation. They even took some photos of us before we left. It was just two of us in the room but it would also be good for a small family or a group of friends traveling. The room had everything we needed and more. We would definitely stay again!

There really wasn't anything we disliked about this stay. It was a little farther from the nearest station than our other stays, but we took a cab from Tokyo Station so it wasn't a problem. It's also a short cab ride to/from Ueno Keisei Station which is convenient if you're coming or leaving from Narita. The closest local train from TOE Library is about a 13 minute walk. If you have mobility issues and can't get up and down stairs easily this might not be the place for you. They carried our bags to the room though so you don't have to do any lifting.

Everything about coming to Toe Library was to perfection in every way! From meeting Yoshi to his amazing hospitality in helping us with our bags to questions we have about Japan and the room to getting our room ready and enhancing out experience with recommendations. The room itself was so beautiful and artful. Every bit of it really fit what I wanted out of Japan. The careful selection of CDs, the availability of the snacks and tea to providing a instant film camera to use made our 4 day Tokyo day unforgettable. Big Thanks to Rian and Yoshi for the over the top service and hospitality I cannot say enough. The room itself was quite large for Tokyo and filled with neat things to explore if you have time in your mornings they provided a great start to the day just listening to the radio or CDs while planning with the pencil and paper provided.

Every little detail about Toe Library has been so meticulously thought out by Yoshi. The bathroom amenities are great. From check in to check out we loved every aspect of the Toe Library. Yoshi is a great host and so helpful. The space is beautiful. The bedding was so comfortable and the projector a nice touch after walking around all day. The space is in a quieter neighbourhood which meant no road noise and an easy walk to the train station and tourist areas. I can’t fault Toe Library.

It felt like home! The bed was very comfortable and the linen soft and breathable. Loved the attention to detail with every aspect of the apartment, including the use of Instax Polaroid camera and watching tv from a projector screen. And the light fittings and lamps throughout the apartment were quite unique. Yoshie and his team were wonderful - very helpful and friendly.

Only negative was the location - it’s a fair distance from the main city centre however the area is quite pleasant with random shops within walking distance. One little suggestion with the use of space in the apartment, the large table in the lounge area should be smaller (perhaps a coffee table?) as it takes up a lot space, but I understand the piece is quite beautiful.

The room was so unique and designed so beautifully. The amenities were great like the film camera and projector. It was a beautiful quiet neighborhood but easy to access the busier parts of Tokyo. The best part by far is the owner Yoshi!! He gave us incredible recommendations for Tokyo, but then he found out we were heading to Kyoto next and gave us even more delicious and amazing recommendations for Kyoto as well! The hotel was great but Yoshi was superb!

TOE Library is an excellent spot near Asakusa and Kuramae that perfectly balances tranquility with convenience. The quiet neighborhood offered peaceful walks and runs along the Sumida River while within easy reach of the main attractions. We also appreciated the neighborhood with designed small stores, coffee shops, desserts, and stationery stores in the area, giving us a genuine feel of local life. The room was a highlight - thoughtfully designed with carefully selected furniture, lighting, and tableware that made every moment feel special. We particularly enjoyed the CD collection and books (though we wish we could read Japanese!) and had fun with the Polaroid camera. The exceptional cleanliness and attention to detail made us feel at home - a dream one! Yuki and Yoshi-san were gracious hosts, providing their curated list that helped us explore the area. This place offers precisely that for anyone looking to experience Tokyo beyond the tourist spots while staying in a beautifully crafted space.
