Normally I do not take the effort to rate or review the place I visit, because the rating simply matches with my experience, but this hotel was out of the world. The rooms were okay like what you would expect for the price, the location was awesome, but the service was the best I have ever had. They came to pick you up at the station (which is already crazy for a budget hotel and a 15 minute walk), then greeted me in the most kind way, brought my stuff up to my room and helped me with my questions. I think if you want a conversation with these people they would be more than open for it, so yeah the stay itself was awesome already and the best I had in Japan and I have certainly stayed at more luxerious and expensive hotels. The most crazy part came after I left, once I was packing I did not notice I did not have my ring cage with me (samsung ring so the cage is also the charge station) and simply buying a new one would cost 2 weeks of shipping time and 90 euros. So the first thing I did was message the hotel and they said: "yeah we have found it". So going back and forth on how we should arrange it for me to get it back and they said if you send the information of your next hotel (which is the worst I have stayed in, in Japan, but that is inrelevant) we will send it there. Oh and as a added bonus the shipping fees were on them, because I stayed 2 nights. These people went out of their way to help me and refused to let me pay a dime, this hotel is exceptional!

The facilties were maybe a bit old, but still very very doable

Really liked the interior of the lobby; there's a lot of cool stuff and posters of albums and musicians all over. There's a cafe-like area that serves food where you can meet other travelers. There is also a cute cat that naps at the front desk. Hotel also doubles a studio for musicians. Public hot baths are available for those interested. Water is sourced from the local mountain, which was awesome. Location is fairly convenient. The hotel is roughly a 23 minute walk or 7 minute bus ride from kawaguchiko station. The famous Lawson is a short 2 minute walk. The nearest bus stop is also there. Getting to the bridge overseeing the lake is a 22 minute walk or 10 minute by bus. Room had a great view of Fujisan. Surprisingly spacious compared to other rooms I've stayed in. The beds were comfortable. Hotel staff were amazing. They are very friendly. Had a great conversation about musical instruments. They can offer pick ups and drop offs from and to the station. Just message them when you'll arrive and tell them when you'll like to be dropped off. Would definitely stay again and would recommend it to others.

Room seemed kind of old.

We had an amazing stay . The staff are so friendly and caring. We were picked up from the station and then dropped back when we checked out. What a great complimentary service. The communal lounge area had complimentary tea and coffee and dining tables and a microwave to use. We spent our evenings in there talking to some lovely people, and it felt like a home from home. There is also an onsen to use. The bedroom was amazingly large. Not the usual standard Japanese size , with plenty of room, a private bathroom , sofa, and an amazing view of Mt Fuji. Really comfortable bed. Everywhere was clean.

Nothing to dislike, loved it.

The got the room that has amazing view, everyday we get to enjoy Fujisan from our window. We were lucky that 3 out of 4 days of our stay, the weather was so bright and sunny 🌞. The staff were also very nice, helpful and the hospitality was superb, especially Kao who been entertaining our needs and questions throughout our stay, picked us up at the Kawaguchiko station They served free pick up services to & from train stations which was very convenient to us. Facilities provided were superb, we love their dining area where we can heat up our food and also enjoy hot beverages. Boxed juices also available in their fridge for guests. The staff named Kao was very kind & helpful.

The furniture seems a bit old. But this is not a complaint, just to set expectation that it's not a modern set up type of hotel. We are OK, and comfortable with it.

Service top rated, very helpful hotel staff, although the place looks vintage, it is very clean, spacious, welcoming and have a stunning view of the Mt Fuji which looks very near. Kao San is exceptionally welcoming, they waited for us at the Kawaguchiko station eventhough we gave them the pick up time at last minute due to changes on our tour schedule. Thy also gave us a lift to the station the next day for our outing and even refuse tips when they drop us at the station after checking out. Definitely one of my favourite hotel in Japan. Will definitely come again to this hotel if I ever visit again the scenic place. Good location, next door and opposite is a Japanese and western restauran.

The staff were amazing. They were super friendly and helpful. They offered very good English service which made our stay so easy and nice. The location is really good where you can have a good view of Mt. Fuji. There are also a lot of restaurants nearby for your choice. The day when we checked out, they also offered a ride to Kawaguchiko Station from where we took an express bus to Gotemba, really convenient. They also offer luggage shipment service. We shipped some of our not-so-needed stuff to Osaka (our next city) during the stay. So, everything was easy and cozy here.

Not really

The property is good. Neat, clean, warm, nice view, the staffs very polite and helpful. Including Mr.Oreo (cat receptionist🤭). I love the environment because it is not crowded and peaceful. My room is mount fuji view, and at the lounge also u can hang out and have ur free snack and coffee while enjoy the mount fuji's view. There's several free facilities like massage machine, common bathroom japanese style, free flow water, tea, coffee and snacking. At lounge, there is also microwave for you to freely use. And and and theres a fridge also at the lobby for you to keep something cool. The property also near to the viral Lawson that u can capture mount fuji with nice view. Overall i am over satisfied. They also provide free shuttle car to drop off and pickup at the Kawaguchiko Station.

Really nice and friendly people. It is 20 mins walking from Kawaguchiko Station, but they offer to pick you up or drop you off after check out. Despite that, the hotel is 2 mins walking from a bus stop that leads you to discover all the area. The facilities and bedroom can be a little bit old, but it is certainly compensated by the niceness of the staff and the common areas (access to a common room where you can have free coffee or tea and bring your own food to eat). On Sunday we had a really good breakfast for only 1000 yen.

Like I said, the only “but” could be that the hotel is a little bit old, but you won’t regret it

Hosts were very gracious; welcoming and helpful. I am very grateful for their hospitality. They helped me rent a battery assisted bicycle. Location was quiet, and the room I stayed in had a nice view of Mount Fuji. I highly recommend this hotel to stay at while you visit Lake Kawaguchi. Hosts also gave me a ride back to the express bus station when it was time for me to leave for another location.

Location was a bit far from the Express bus station, so getting there took a while. Google maps suggested routes that were not suitable for people with luggage, but stick to the main/wider roads and you'll be fine.

Exceptional service from the team! We felt so welcome and at home. Despite some staff can't speak English, they were always trying to make sure we were comfortable during our stay. My toddler was also given a chance to explore the hotel's music studio and played with the hotel's mascots, Oleo and Shido. A big shout out to Kao San for her warm hospitality and for being the translator. Kao san replied to our messages promptly and sent / picked us up from Kawaguchiko station throughout our stay. She even acceded to our request by sending our luggages to the train station as we explored Mount Fuji a little more. Really appreciate the kind gesture! Overall, the best place to stay around Mount Fuji 👍👍👍
