We had a room with in-room private bath so we enjoyed that - Hakone sulphur hot spring water. They provided all the amenities needed including nice yukata, bag, towels etc needed for the public bath. The room was large, spacious and clean, and seems quite newly renovated. Each bed was also equipped with its own night light, USB charging and so on. We also really enjoyed the medicinal tea bar (DIY tea and even medicinal liquor and hot coffee). We also enjoyed the breakfast food very much, everything was fresh and wholesome, focusing on peace and internal wellness.

The room bathroom was slightly dark, older, and with a musty smell, and some rust. But it's not so used thanks to the onsen facilities so that was fine for us. Also, our private bath was quite exposed to the road/houses opposite so we had to be very careful about that. The parking is really tight.

The food was outstanding as well as the experience of meal times, especially if you have dinner, which is well worth the cost. As good as any Michelin star restaurant with the added bonus of all-inclusive drinks during the meal. In addition the tea room was a nice experience with lots of choice and free after dinner drinks.

Meal times are quite restricted but this is due to the format of the dining experience so this is just to warn future guests.

I loved the breakfast, different everyday and copious, with guidance about the nutrition value and the recipes, the tea bar and tea bar room where an extra enjoyment.The onsen is very nice .

One thing is difficult on a rainy day, it is the access to the main entrance, because it is in the very steep hill, and the tiles are very slippery, when you walk up or down.Ialmost fel once so I use the parking exit the next days.

Plenty of amenities: free bar and tea, big rooms and good location. Perfect Japanese style breakfast. Free shuttle service from Gora station to the hotel (it's uphill!).

Tablet check-in took longer than expected (since it didn't save the taken picture), plenty of messages via Booking - almost like spamming. The reception called our room twice to ask us about the breakfast time. The staff wasn't available when we returned to get our luggages and we almost lost our train in Gora (and the following Shinkansen connection) because of that.

Very spacious room. Nice tea bar and even have some alcoholic baverages to try. Nice onsen included. Good location, couple minutes walk to the rope way. Some good restaurants nearby. Off street parking available.

No soundproofing and no blackout curtains.

The bath is great, the view is perfect and it’s very peaceful.

Reception desk hours. I also wasn’t aware we had to dress up in traditional outfits for breakfast.
