- We chose this as our "cheaper" stay for our 1st out of 2 nights in Hakone and I felt this was the more beautiful location, though yes, facilities won't be as nice as a pricier ryokan. The room is HUGE, our balcony view was lovely, and the onsen for women (though probably relatively "smaller") was empty when I went at 9AM one morning and stayed for a total of 30 min. Very great value for your money if you're looking for a chance to soak in onsen water and be surrounded by nature. - Staff is great; we were able to get ahold of someone via the phone at the front when we checked in super late around 22:30. The employee seemed to have ran or biked all the way there to give us the keys. Despite the language barrier, he was able to deduce I was the last guest to arrive and needed my keys. (The message I got via chat said check in could be done via a front desk tablet so thought it ultimately wouldn't matter when I came. When I re-read the policy, it said check-in was between 3-10PM, but by then, our commute had already been delayed because most of the shinkansen tickets were booked since it was peak of Golden Week. So grateful it worked out).

- I agree with another review on here that says the room has a smell, maybe it has to do with the place being outdated. I wasn't particularly bothered by it, though my mom said something about it. Otherwise, I thought everything else was very clean. - I see other people have complained about the rough uphill walk if you miss the last shuttle that leaves Gora Station at 6PM. However, because we arrived late and buses had pretty much stopped running, we had to get a taxi from Odawara station, which was super doable via the Go app! (There were taxis waiting at the front when you get out from Odawara station as well).

Big rooms well suited for a family of 3-4. It's almost like an homeatay with a kitchen and a small living area. You can also enjoy the onsen at night. Very close to the Naka Gora stop on the cable car line and most attractions in Gora are quite close by. So a very convenient location to stay in.

The cable car doesn't function after 17:55, so if you come after that you will either have to walk up a steep hill or take a Taxi. But Taxi is not expensive for such a short distance so it was fine for us. But if you don't want to take a taxi and coming at night, it might be inconvenient.

We had an amazing time during our stay at Yutorello-an Annex Hakone! The dinner they provided was absolutely delicious, and the portion sizes were huge—there was more than enough for the four of us. In fact, we could have easily eaten it 2-3 times! Everything was prepared with great care, and they provided all the necessary amenities, making our stay incredibly comfortable. A nice touch was the vending machine downstairs, which was very convenient for drinks. Since we spent most of our time at the hotel and didn’t explore much nearby, I can't comment on the local area, but the shuttle bus service was definitely a highlight. It was such a lifesaver to be dropped off at Gora Station. Just a quick tip: be sure to sign up for the shuttle service the day before, as it only operates at two specific times. The onsen experience was excellent as well. No need to bring your own toiletries—everything you could possibly need is provided, including shampoo, conditioner, body soap, face wash, body lotion, and even hairdryers. It’s incredibly convenient and made the experience stress-free! However, don’t forget to familiarize yourself with onsen etiquette before you go. There are some important regulations to follow, and as tourists, it’s best to respect local customs and the culture surrounding onsen use. They also provide yukata and a selection of free amenities in the lobby, which you can help yourself to. Overall, we had a fantastic stay, and I highly recommend this place to anyone looking to enjoy a relaxing, well-equipped getaway in Hakone.

We really liked the experience of the room with tatami floors and sleeping on the futtons. The room was very big, provided with everything we needed. The do it yourself dinner was a surprise and a nice touch. The only downside is the portion was very big for 2 people and we couldn't finish half of it. The place was clean and the view was beautiful. We could also enjoy the onsen, it wasn't very crowded.

It's a shame when there are loud people around in the onsen and you can't fully enjoy the experience. The hotel is a little dated.

Great amenities and service. It had more amenities than expected. The onsen was great. The beds were very comfy and the included yukata was a great experience. Loved the room.

The location is close to cable car which is great but in the evening, when the cable car closes early, it is inconvenient to walk up from Gora. Also the shuttle option is great but I think an earlier option would be great, for when the cable car isn't an option. There were a few vending machines with many options and cup noodles but no warm drinks for some reason.

Amazing view from the balcony. Spacious apartment. You can take a Yukata and wear it when going to the Onsen. Very good dinner - Nabe, which is waiting for you in your room. In the reception, I got instructions on how to finish it by myself.

If you go to the apartment by cable car, pay attention to which side of the train you get off. If you leave on the wrong side, there is no way to get to the other side of the tracks, and you must wait for the next train.

Awesome rooms for families, with Japanese style. Good public Onsen, good kitchen inside the room. There is no restaurant in the hotel, but you can find it near it. There is a convenience store near the station.

If you lose the Shuttle provided by the hotel, be aware that there is no public transport from the train station to the hotel. It is a huge slop going to the Hotel, but it is easy when going back to the station

I love this hotel, I can't say enough about it. The building is quiet and clean, the staff are warm, kind and very helpful, the onsen is also clean and lovely, the rooms are spectacular. It's like having a Japanese apartment all to yourselves. It is a wonderful experience. It's right next to a station where you can take the ropeway up to Owakudani, and is on a lovely path down to restaurants and cafes. The hotel even provides shuttles to Hakone Yumoto Station in the mornings, and provides luggage transport for a reasonable fee. Overall, we had a fantastic exprience.

The soundproofing isn't great, so please be quiet during your stay to respect other clients around you. The location is downhill from the bus stop if you take that so make sure you walk down with caution as cars do drive up and down the hill and there's no sidewalks.
