hot spring was great, hotel staff very accommodating, view from the room balcony was amazing

location was up a very steep hill and is difficult if no cable cars are running also not many convenience stores nearby

We had an amazing time during our stay at Yutorello-an Annex Hakone! The dinner they provided was absolutely delicious, and the portion sizes were huge—there was more than enough for the four of us. In fact, we could have easily eaten it 2-3 times! Everything was prepared with great care, and they provided all the necessary amenities, making our stay incredibly comfortable. A nice touch was the vending machine downstairs, which was very convenient for drinks. Since we spent most of our time at the hotel and didn’t explore much nearby, I can't comment on the local area, but the shuttle bus service was definitely a highlight. It was such a lifesaver to be dropped off at Gora Station. Just a quick tip: be sure to sign up for the shuttle service the day before, as it only operates at two specific times. The onsen experience was excellent as well. No need to bring your own toiletries—everything you could possibly need is provided, including shampoo, conditioner, body soap, face wash, body lotion, and even hairdryers. It’s incredibly convenient and made the experience stress-free! However, don’t forget to familiarize yourself with onsen etiquette before you go. There are some important regulations to follow, and as tourists, it’s best to respect local customs and the culture surrounding onsen use. They also provide yukata and a selection of free amenities in the lobby, which you can help yourself to. Overall, we had a fantastic stay, and I highly recommend this place to anyone looking to enjoy a relaxing, well-equipped getaway in Hakone.

Great amenities and service. It had more amenities than expected. The onsen was great. The beds were very comfy and the included yukata was a great experience. Loved the room.

The location is close to cable car which is great but in the evening, when the cable car closes early, it is inconvenient to walk up from Gora. Also the shuttle option is great but I think an earlier option would be great, for when the cable car isn't an option. There were a few vending machines with many options and cup noodles but no warm drinks for some reason.

Awesome rooms for families, with Japanese style. Good public Onsen, good kitchen inside the room. There is no restaurant in the hotel, but you can find it near it. There is a convenience store near the station.

If you lose the Shuttle provided by the hotel, be aware that there is no public transport from the train station to the hotel. It is a huge slop going to the Hotel, but it is easy when going back to the station

Wonderful Ryokan, lots of space, good hygiene, many facilities included in the apartment. Huge bathroom and acceptable Onsen. Really, the pictures don't make justice to this place, very good price for the service.

The location was terrible. I read many reviews mentioning the big slope to walk uphill before being able to reach the place but I had underestimated it. The slope is very high. The street really is difficult to walk on, especially with luggage. There is a cablecar station very close to the hotel, but the last train is around 18.30, so be careful not to miss it,otherwise you will need to walk uphill for 25 minutes. The staff is very nice and friendly but also absent and difficult to contact when you need.

I love this hotel, I can't say enough about it. The building is quiet and clean, the staff are warm, kind and very helpful, the onsen is also clean and lovely, the rooms are spectacular. It's like having a Japanese apartment all to yourselves. It is a wonderful experience. It's right next to a station where you can take the ropeway up to Owakudani, and is on a lovely path down to restaurants and cafes. The hotel even provides shuttles to Hakone Yumoto Station in the mornings, and provides luggage transport for a reasonable fee. Overall, we had a fantastic exprience.

The soundproofing isn't great, so please be quiet during your stay to respect other clients around you. The location is downhill from the bus stop if you take that so make sure you walk down with caution as cars do drive up and down the hill and there's no sidewalks.

We arrived at the hotel (Annex) after sunset and was happy that the reception staff helped us with the check-in even though it was passed his working hours. Happy to be able to use the onsen within the hotel (Annex). The room (Japanese Modern Room) was large enough for our family of 4 adults. We only stayed one night and checked out early the next morning. There were only a few parking lots at the Annex and we were glad that there was a vacant lot on our arrival.

Great traditional-style stay and we had a nice mountain view. It was very spacious and there were parking spots for our car. Coming here by public transport may be cumbersome though, however, there is the cable cart. I like the dining table with the cutout floor for your legs to sit like a chair. Be aware that because of the location, the air stinks but the room is airtight so the smell isn't strong inside. We didn't get time to try out the onsen but from previous reviews, it looks to be good.

It would have been nice to have had the futon prepared for us. Wifi is weak and only available in the foyer.

We got lucky and stayed in the room with the best view! Other rooms might not be so lucky as our room faced east so we could catch the sunrise. Comfortable mattress and futons. Has the essentials for a comfortable homey stay. The receptionist, Kana, was patient and accommodating even though we had a bit of an issue with the booking. She was also fluent in English which was really helpful for us! There are also yukatas to wear (with sizes). The room was also very clean.

Onsen was small (only one bath, 6 showers) but for the price I would say it’s very reasonable! Onsen could also be cleaner but it’s okay for me.

Very nice Ryokan on the beautiful mountainside of Gora. Our room was cozy and if you’re looking for the Ryokan experience this is a nice start. Fantastic value and friendly staff. There’s a small but nice onsen, especially at the end of a long day. Absolutely recommended.

As others have said, the location can be a bit tricky to reach with luggage. We were lucky to catch the shuttlebus that runs between 15:00 and 18:00. During a busy period it would be difficult to take the cablecars going from Odawara.
