Convenient and Cozy Stay for Families We recently stayed for three days and loved how convenient this place was to the stations and town. The location made it easy to explore the area, being just a 5-8 minute walk to shopping centers near the train station. A small family market around the corner was a great perk, along with water machines available in every corner to stay hydrated. The accommodations were cozy, with one large room fitting four people comfortably on futon-like mattresses. Having the bathroom and restroom separated was especially convenient when sharing with three other family members. The room also included a small fridge, a hot water pot, coffee and tea, and essential toiletries like shampoo, conditioner, and soap. The warm bidet and ample toilet paper were a nice touch. Checking in and out was a breeze. Cons: The stairs were narrow and steep, making it challenging to bring up heavy luggage (not ideal for those with physical disabilities or families with young kids). The alley leading to the property was small and dark, which could feel unsafe at night but was fine in reality. The lack of an elevator, washer and dryer, or dresser drawers meant we had to live out of our suitcases. Guests are required to take out their own trash and wash dishes before checking out. Despite these minor inconveniences, the property's charm, convenience, and affordability made up for it. Next time, we'll pack lighter since laundromats are easily accessible nearby. It's a simple, functional place—not fancy—but perfect for families looking for a budget-friendly stay close to the city and shopping. We’d happily stay here again!

The apartment was clean and well setup for 5 guests. The shower was hot and the wifi worked well. There are several local restaurants within 5 minutes walking as well as Lawsons and 7 Elevens

There are no chairs at all so you sleep and eat on the floor, this may not suit some people. The location is about a 20 minute trip from the main attractions in Kyoto.

It was a very good Japanese style experience, with tatami room and futon beds, as well as heated table. I really recommend to try at least once during stay in Japan as a tourist instead of Western style hotels. The area was pretty busy with traffic during the day, but especially calm at night. Convenient for access to Kyoto station and further onto Gion area.

It was not as clean as could be, with dust on the shelves in less visible areas.

The location is convenient for a local JR station and the river for walks/runs. The apartment was bright and fairly spacious. Amenities were good.

The only negative is that the appartment is right next to a main road. However, to be fair you cannot really hear the traffic inside.

Good location, pictures are an accurate representation of the property. The staircase to level 2 is very, very small and steep and quite difficult to maneuver baggage. The host will meet you at the property to get your passport info (which is mandatory in Japan). The futons were incredibly comfy, one of the best sleeps I had through my entire trip. On the ground level, we were able to store our big baggage in a separate space, only accessible to us, which was awesome. Washer is separate to the property but still free, clothing must be dried inside the room which is okay as there is a rail and hangers.

Cozy and fully furnished Japanese style room. The information and instructions are very detailed and clear; the host is friendly and enthusiastic. The building's location is very convenient to go to famous Kyoto attractions, only 15 minutes by bus to Gion.

Really comfortable place, in a classic style with kind of a low tea table where to eat, tatami and futon, all essential services, in a strategic position from Kyoto Station and some important temples such as the Fushimi Inari and Kiyomizudera. The owner was very kind and gave us all the help and information needed for our stay. Marvelous!

Everything was wonderful! It was a very comfortable apartment, there was something very soothing about it. Highly recommended.

The place closed to train station just 550 m. 6 mins walk. 1 stop from Kyoto station with reasonable price. The surrounding is peaceful and safe to walk even night time. There is convenience store, pastry shop, buger near the place. The place is clean, the futon are soft and clean, the tatami floor is clean, feel no dust. There is a pantry. Private bathroom. The owner is very friendly and gentle. recommended.

The location was convenient. The design of the room was very traditional, unexpected in a good way. Will recommend to family and friends.

A little bit tight space in the dining area but not a big issue.
