It was very clean, comfortable and authentic. We had everything we needed. Air conditioning units for heating were there as the floors got quite cold in the evening. The shower and bathtub are spaceous and japanese style, separate shower and toilet room. Fully equipped kitchen with fridge. Space good for five people, if everyone is good with stairs. Even bikes and umbrellas are there to use. The cafe around the corner is very good for breakfast.

As the house is old the windows and doirs don't seal sound and air very well. Not a huge problem though.

Traditional looking with modern amenities. A short walk from JR station and close to supermarket and 7/11. We (family of 3) used it as our base for our 1 week stay in Kyoto. First level has a welcome space upon entry that gives you that traditional ryokan vibe, step through to a very modern kitchen and bathroom (includes a fabulous bath). Second level contains 2 sleeping rooms and a loft accessible by a ladder. Beware it does have a steep stair climb so be prepared however a few times up and down you'll be a pro! Fantastic stay for us and we would recommend to anyone. Great communication from our hosts, really made us feel welcome and looked after!

Family Friendly neighbourhood. Close to convenience stores and Life supermarket. Easy walk from Tambaguchi station, which is on the Saga line to Arashiyama (the other way is Kyoto station). Wonderful bath, fast internet and a great traditional house with a simple zen modern interior. We walked to the Aquarium and Railway Museum from the guesthouse in about 25 mins. My kids loved seeing the Japanese children on their way to school and visiting local supermarkets and cafes. We also had a great time using the bikes to ride around with.

It was clean and well maintained. It was spacious and the kitchen was well kept with plates, glasses, mugs and a big fridge.

The stairs to the bedrooms were very steep. I was scared of going up and down because I have bad knees and also I was scared I might slip and fall. It was a little difficult to find. We landed up on a parallel road following Google maps but luckily there was a very nice couple who helped us out. As the roads are narrow, some of them are one-way and also my car got a little damaged trying to find the place.

Having bikes available is great for visiting Kyoto. Nice quiet neighbourhood. New, modern and sleek. It even had a leg/foot massage machine!

The location exceeded the expetations, the bathroom was really beautiful, and all the house recreates a traditional japanese ambientation, but with all the comfort. The bikes were really useful.

Maybe the bikes were kinda small but ok.

It was a cozy place with complete facilities. The free bicycles were a great save for money and to get around. The location was great and quiet. Every morning you'll see kids going to school.

It would've been better if we had a place to store our items. Having washing machines and clothes iron would make everything complete in my opinion.

This house is located in a great location, 5 minute walk to a bus stop and 8 minutes to a train station. It is very comfortable, the rooms are spacious and the shower is great. It also has a Lawson and 7/11 really close.

It was a very nice house, traditional mixed with modern. Exactly like we have hoped for and for a very Price. We loved the bed's, but you need to be a fan of sleeping on the floor with traditional Beds.

Very clean. Nice bathroom with toilet sink and shower/ bath all together. Big kitchen and dining room combo.

Overall it's small, there's no living room for family to relax comfortably together.
