I put my parents up at this hotel three times during their visit to Japan this summer. Every time they were in Kyoto this was their home base because of the relatively convenient location, both in regards to access to public transportation, as well as proximity to my own home. The staff were always super lovely and accommodating, but they really went the extra mile for this last week of my parent's trip. They found and held onto a hat my mom had forgotten at her previous checkout (she was over the moon when she got it back), and when my parents encountered difficulty sending their luggage to the airport, one staff member (Bessho-san, if I recall correctly) really went above and my beyond to help troubleshoot the situation which included bringing their luggage to and back from the closest convenience store and spending hours on the phone with delivery companies to try to figure out a workable solution. Would definitely recommend to friends and family looking for a place to stay during future trips to Kyoto!

The staff were super friendly and helpful! The amenities were great! The room was slightly bigger than the standard for Japan and it was beautifully decorated!

The location was not great. Not bad either, just far away from most places. We had breakfast included, but it was not particularly good… also last orders for breakfast were at 8:30 AM! We were on holidays and trying to take it easy because of the heat so being eating at 8 AM was too early for us.

Very nice public bath that I didn't realize they had when I booked so that was a nice surprise. All the amenities you could need were provided as well.

I did find a lone sock under the bed when I was checking for a dropped item as we got ready to check out. This sock did not belong to me or my partner so even though the facilities felt fairly clean, it did make me wonder about how thoroughly the room was cleaned before we got there.

Room was lovely and bed was comfortable. Staff were super friendly. Would definitely come back to stay again!

The location was a bit away from everything - about a 25 min walk to where all the restaurants are, but it was very central to stations on the main lines for bus and train so the location made it very easy to get to Arashiyama and Northern & Eastern Kyoto.

Good location if you take the public transportation, as it is not in the walking distance to sightseeing spots. Nice staff.

Room is small but not more then in other hotels we have stayed in Japan.

The hotel in a convenient location. Very good laundry room. I had no laundry soap, but I met a lady from Russia named Aanal in the laundry room. She gave me her laundry soap! Aanal, if you are out there somewhere, thank you for the soap and everything ellse....Very nice!
