It felt like I'd been let into someone's home in every sense of the word. The change to a traditional and cozy place to come back to was incredibly welcome after being on the road for a while. Ma and her son were authentically kind, beyond what is required to be a polite host. We needed some help with an errand and we're struggling as foreigners, and Ma went above and beyond in helping us, expecting nothing in return. Not sure when we're going back to Kyoto, but we're excited to stay here again next time :) Also, the location is perfect. Central to the small town, and a 2 minute walk from the train station. very convenient if you're bringing bags/suitcases with you.

There was only one shower available, so getting ready in the morning required a bit more flexibility. Otherwise, everything great.

The room was large, very clean, and all the necessary amenities were available. They even gave us a choice of rooms when we arriveed. The owner is extremely kind and friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. She made it feel like home. When we left it was raining and they even gave us an umbrella to use, in fact they wanted to give us two. If we're ever in Kyoto again we will definitely stay here again, it was the best place we have stayed in on our trip.

The property was well equipped with blower, Shampoo body lotion and towels. Our room was nice and clean. The house property was quiet. The best of the house are the people, who run this place. They are very friendly and can speak good enough English. If you are lucky you also get a welcoming hug from the charming lady of the house.

The hosts were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and beds very comfortable.

The lights in the hall are on a sensor, and there are frosted windows in the bedroom doors. So every time a person passes, the lights come on and wake you up

The house is located in a quiet environment, room as comfortable, full equipped kitchen on the rooftop, free hot peppers, pumpkins and kimchi! The host was so kind, I miss her already 😇🙏💕

I did not like check out at 10 but the host accepted my late check out for a very small fee (that I proposed) Arigatō!

Nice guesthouse near train station and supermarket. The owner is a nice lady. It was great that I could check-in early. The price of the room is a bit higher than other basic rooms with shared bathroom. The bed was nice. The light in the room was harshly bright, which made the room lack ambience.

The staff were great, they were super helpful and friendly. They even gave us a pair of umbrellas that came in super handy for the rest of our trip. The guest house is super clean, well equipped and feels like a home.

It was an emergency stay for us, because by mistake we missed one night between our two another bookings. Although we arrived very late and booked last minute, the host welcomed us nicely. This is a very nice, cosy and really clean guest house, that seemed to have all the needed facilities. Next time we hope to stay longer. :)

This was our most loveable stay in Japan! OYAMA is like my grandmother - she is helpful, kind, full of love and joy and is such a gem. The Guesthouse is close to the train station but a bit far away from the center of Kyoto. But for the price you will get a very comfy bed, super clean bathrooms and showers and this beautiful host.

only if you want to stay closer to the center it will be a 30 minute Bus ride.

Mama and poli really nice people. They were always trying to help and even shared some kimchi to me. Lots of bathrooms. And the room was espacious. Train station 2 minutes walking distance. Best place I ever stayed in japan.
