All staff we encountered were professional, kind, hospitable, and extremely helpful. Taku was the staff member who greeted us upon arrive and was delightful to talk with. He also was instrumental in assisting us with contacting Yamato Transport when we missed the deadline for luggage pickup. With his call, Yamato transport came and picked up our bags and delivered them before we reached our next destination at a Narita airport hotel. Our room was immaculately clean and everything was in perfect working order. Only have two suggestions: 1) Remove cabinet door from refrigerator storage to prevent fire hazard as fridge puts out a lot of heat to keep cool. Having it in an enclosed space isn’t such a good idea. 2) Change up breakfast menu each day. Not everyone likes fish in the morning, and just about all of the breakfast food is fish/seafood. Changing it might also prevent boredom for cooks.

Reception staff spoke fluent English, especially this young gentleman, who was very enthusiastic to chat with us. Hotel stay included an omakase style breakfast which was top notch and way exceeded the value paid. Room while not huge, had good layout and will be spacious enough for two pax with big luggage. Don't miss the awesome warabimochi shop nearby.

Heat insulation can be improved as the area near the window is colder and the heating doesn't get circulated so well to the bathroom area.

The breakfast... Is really what you should stay here for... You shouldnt expect to much on their hotel facility ( Just because they have only basic facilities, but at a very high standard of cleaniness and comfortability) However, the breakfast and location are really what made it stand out from the other hotels nearby, not saying the Price of it being so considerable.

Nothing. You get the basic things you needed for a stay, but all the other categories (service, cleaniness, location, staff, breakfast...) are just so good to ignore that

Breakfast was stunning Japanese “Omakase” style. Might be good if you are adventurous and easy going foodie but a nightmare if you are just a typical western/Chinese traveller that is expecting a “continental” breakfast. (Expect it to take about 1 hour) Service staff was warm and welcoming throughout the stay and that’s saying alot especially by Japanese standards. Always happy to help you with any problems and always happy to see and greet you. Feels like home. They really go above and beyond (and I’m saying this based on Japanese standards) Room is spacious, modern Scandinavia woody vibes like cabin in the woods Lounge on first floor was absolutely stunning and cozy cafe vibes(I literally lounge here every single day after breakfast), not very big but can accommodate about 4-5 couples comfortably. Includes all day coffee and tea and a microwave is available Bathroom is clean and Japanese toilet seat is provided along with bathtub For this price point, I’m sure nothing can beat Yado, i will definitely book this place the next time I visit the area

Saying I stayed for breakfast would be an understatement—the breakfast was fantastic! It was fresh, delicious, and thoughtfully prepared for guests. I’d return just for the breakfast and/or lunch alone.

The room is nice for sleep and relax, although there's no TV in the room, which is perfectly fine, the hotel could consider providing a small Bluetooth speaker for in-room entertainment as an alternative.

Breakfast was seasonal, healthy and very pretty. It was prepared like a mini kaiseki and they explained everything in english. I loved the local yuzu cider. There is also free tea and coffee in the lounge with a microwave. The room was functional and clean, very reasonably priced. Amazing power shower with shampoo, conditioner and shower gel. The hotel is beautiful, minimalist and modern. Away from the hustle and bustle. Staff were super friendly.

Note, they do lock up from midnight to 5am. There's only one lift but I never had any problems. Fantastic hotel!

The breakfast was beautiful and delicious. Our room was clean, quiet and well-appointed for me and my guests. The staff was accommodating until our last day. The complimentary coffee and tea were greatly appreciated after dining hours.

The air conditioning/thermopump systems were a little difficult to operate. For a multi-day stay, the daily breakfasts could be varied slightly to have a better appreciation of the Japanese cuisine offered at YADO.

The multi-course set breakfast was sensational, cooked fresh before you. The hot tofu in soy! Our room was clean and huge. Pizza Mama restaurant nearby was fabulous, a life saver actually. Classy and great Italian/Japanese food.

Location was inconvenient at night. Dark and wet autumn evenings made it hard to cross the river, and there weren’t many restaurants staying open for dinner. Pretty minimal facilities, minimal staffing.

This Hotel blew me and my partner away! Not only was the staff professional and kind but they made major efforts to assist whenever needed, communicate with us during our stay and connected on personal levels. The location couldn't be any better, located on a charming street close to rivers and food shops, vending machines for late night drinks and only a 10 min walk from the train station. The breakfast menu was impressive and an experience of its own, very kind friendly chefs that you can visually be entertained by watching them prepare your meals and traditional foods. The room was a good size with everything you would need, rather small bathroom with great vacillates and heated toilet, separate shower room. The view from the bedroom was a beautiful bit of nature, we often imagined a panda hanging from the trees it looked like it was out of a story book! Relaxing lounge and dining area was well sized and very luxurious with great art pieces & stylish furniture.

There isn't anything I can say in terms of negatives as we were so blown away by our stay. Considering that this was a 2 Star Hotel we couldn't imagine what Japan considered 4 star.. lol simply amazing

Staff were really lovely and helpful, and offered great service. The food is phenomenal, some of the best you'll get in town. Clean, well-kept, and a perfect location. I'll be recommending it to friends for years to come.

At the end of a long day a bath would have been nice, and the TV is a tablet (which is not all that bad really!). Bed was a bit too hard for me personally. Buy snacks and drinks beforehand for the evening.
