The breakfast and view was excellent. Fresh juice and yummy appetizers. The zen garden in my room was amazing and relaxing.

There are hardly any restaurants open for dinner after 6pm. No room service. No welcome drink served during check in. But there were cakes and drinks in the room for guest.

The hotel is amazingly designed, has a perfect location in Arashiyama and great amenities in the room. The maisonette was very spacious and comfortable. The breakfast was very tasty and the reception staff very helpful

The hotel is not that well suited for a visit with kids. While they had all the necessary amenities for children, including a baby there was not much they can enjoy in the facilities. Moreover, for some reason breakfast for children is not included in the “breakfast included option” with was very weird as we expected to eat all together (to be fair, they fixed the situation quickly). Besides that there is no view from the maisonette side, which is quite disappointing given the fact its one of the key selling points of the hotel and one of the most expensive rooms in the hotel. Overall, couples would probably enjoy this hotel much more, and while we had a pleasant stay, it wasn’t the most suited one for traveling with kids

Convenient, beautiful architecture & details.

For this type of hotels & at this rate, communication was difficult. Concierge & front desk staff should be more well versed in other languages, esp English as its most spoken. It’s a struggle. When I requested for help by emails prior to arrival a lady by the name of Rinka was so inefficient she did nothing for a week. I reached a barrier w communication & she sat on all of my requests for assistance. It was so frustrating. I’ve never expected this from a hotel of this stature. I had to call the hotel before I got someone who efficiently took over.

Service was excellent. Staff were helpful and friendly. The breakfast set with a choice of mains was very good quality. I enjoyed my breakfast with a view of the river and the lovely autumn foliage. The room and bathroom were very spacious, bright and well ventilated. Floor heating made the room very comfortable. The location was excellent! Walking distance to shopping street, bamboo forest, Tenryu-ji , Fukuda Art Museum, Togetsokyu bridge …

The pillows were too soft. A pillow menu for guest to select pillow preference will be good.

The breakfast was exceptional. and their twin room is spacious with stunning artificial waterfall view.

The wardrobe is stylish but not user-friendly. Cosmetic mirror should be added in the washroom area.

Everything lol. The bed is huge which is the main reason we got it. The room is set up with different types of tea. Everything is provided even a dyson air dryer! The location is perfect. The view is as if you're on an island. It's so calming and aesthetic. The breakfast is amazing. They're really good with food. The fine dining was a beautiful experience.

The lacked in room service. I think it's common in Japan but when it's night time and you want a quick bite to eat it's less convenient. However, you can definitely do uber eats. So it was minor.

MUNI KYOTO was a wonderful place to stay. The room was spacious, packed with facilities and features. The bath in particular was excellent, as were the beds. The garden view outside was pleasant, and sitting outside on the deck was endlessly relaxing. The staff were incredibly helpful and efficient - they helped me book a reservation for dinner that matched my dietary requirements. Lastly, there were zero complaints regarding cleanliness.

This is an expensive hotel, excellent or not. The location does a lot of the heavy lifting, as does the size of the room, but a lot of the facilities ended up costing even more on top of everything, and it got to be too much. It is fantastic to have a hotel right by the busiest area of Arashiyama, but it's up to you if a brief repreive from the tourist traffic in a luxery hotel is worth the price. I'm glad I stayed, but I probably won't return.

Located right next to the Togetsukyo Bridge, MUNI KYOTO is in such an idyllic place. It's in walking distance to the Arashiyama Bamboo Grove, ‎Tenryuji Temple, and all of the lovely shops in Arashiyama. The breakfast here may have been the best breakfast I've had in my life, overlooking the Katsura River.

The hotel is a bit far from the Saga-Arashiyama station - a 12 minute walk. And 30 mins to Kyoto Station from there. I personally loved staying in Arashiyama, away from the hustle and bustle of Kyoto, but the location may not be best if you're looking to explore more of Kyoto.

Location is in breathtaking Arashiyama, with views from the breakfast table across the river into the mountains surrounding Kyoto. Staff were efficient, competent and polite. Breakfast was substantial and delicious. We stayed in a two-bed suite, which was well appointed and comfortable. If you want to visit Kyoto without being in the centre of town, I can highly recommend this hotel.
