I stayed here for 3 nights, I like the location because it is only a few minutes walking to kyoto station, AEON shopping mall, 7-11 convenient store, almost everything is nearby. The room that I stayed is small which is alright for one person. The room is clean and neat and comfortable. I like the idea of providing free juices, coffee and tea at the dining area. The public bath is also quite good. I chose not to clean my room on my second day, but the housekeeping are very thoughtful that they left the clean towels and 2 water bottles in a bag outside my room. I will stay here again.

I really enjoyed the hospitality. The staff, front desk, cleaning crew and those working in the restaurant were amazing. They were very kind and understanding. When I asked to speak to a female staff member, they didn't ask me why. Instead, they went and grabbed a female staff member for me. Those who worked at the restaurant were also fun. I enjoyed speaking with them with the little bit of Japanese I knew. They also didn't seem to mind when I tried teaching them a little bit of Spanish. I am Spanish American, so it was fun to know that some of the staff were interested in my culture. I also really enjoyed the bathhouse. It was my first time using it.

we travelled from Australia to Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka. Royal Twin was the second hotel we stayed at and it was beautiful. Great location near the station making it super easy to get to restaurants and shrines in the area. All the hotels in Japan will be small, its part of the charm! but the room in comparison to our one in Tokyo was very comfortable, bigger and had everything we needed. Staff were more than accommodating with extra pillows and had an ice machine to ease our feet after a long day of walking. There was also cherry blossoms and complementary drinks on arrival. We had a lovely night sleep there and will definitely be returning in future. Arigato Gozaimasu, Royal Twin!

The hotel is very close to Kyoto station and all staffs are very friendly. The on-site restaurant provides excellent meals. A 7-11 store is next to the hotel and you can find a foreign currency exchange machine inside. We arrived early and they allowed us to leave our luggage with them so that we could visit sights in the city. The on-site spa is also great and you can check from your room if the spa room is crowded.

Location was very good. close to the station which is what we wanted. Breakfast was surprisingly good with plenty of variety for both local and western tastes. Dining was also good value but menu was limited

The room we were offered was far too small. I blame Booking.com for this as it wasn't described properly and the picture image showed a bigger room than we got. I had to pay for an upgrade for a room that was acceptable. Very annoyed with both the hotel and Booking.com over this!!

The hotel itself is pretty great. The breakfast is a hit and miss depending on how many people are staying there as they typically start lining up around 6:45 am and it fills up pretty fast but the food is good. The public bath was great. Close to the train station.

Location wise it's on the back side of the station, so need to cross the station for pretty much everything and it's really busy there most of the time. There's no safe in the room, and the room size is pretty small

We traveled with a baby and stayed in the Balcony Suite with the private open air bath. The room was spacious with sliding doors between the entrance, bedroom, and bathroom areas to ensure a quiet experience from hallway noises. The tatami floor is nice, and the lights are dimmable with charging. The outdoor open air bath can fit one person comfortably (and up to two). The private balcony’s backdrop of flora and moss were artfully designed. The shower room next to the balcony has heating option. The location is 3 minutes walk away from JR Kyoto Station (specifically Hachijo exit). In the morning, there is a free coffee machine. After 12pm, they also offer free drinks at the restaurant. If you are traveling with a baby, you can ship diapers here via Amazon JP. The reception will hold it for you.

The restaurant is dine-in only. (We would have loved to bring the food up to our room.)

I loved that it was right next to the main train station, and also near a little mall, and lots of food everywhere. And it was so QUIET! Morning rush hour and hardly a peep out of the entire city. Loved the breakfast buffet! Amazing spread! We had to grab my son and drag him out of bed just to see!

Takes a little to get used to how small the rooms are. But that's just Japan, and you get used to being cozy pretty quick. There really isn't anything to dislike. Would stay there again!

Great location, literally 1 min walk from Kyoto station. Laundry facilities were convenient. Also had onsen some of our friends tried and loved. Nice queen sized bed. Free coffee nearly all day long.

The rooms were tiny, which was almost the norm around Japan. We have seen larger, though. Nowhere to sit and have a quick meal or snack in the lobby/ common area, given the room size, inconvenient.

Perfect location, just some min away from Kyoto station, amazing breakfast, nice and friendly staff, beautiful onsen, laundry facilities, complementary tea/coffe/juices in the restaurant, possibilities to store suitcases, balcony with two seats and table …

Very noisy surroundings, we could not sleep with our windows opened, it’s Japanese style room, so it’s all low (no bed, only matress, low chairs …), there was no light switcher in the hall/entrance, only in bedroom …
