- pretty big rooms, enough for two people with large suitcases. - the walls seem to be soundproof as we heard nothing during our stay, even though the hotel was fully booked. - near the main train station and bus stops (especially for going to the Bamboo Forest and Fushimi Inari) - shops nearby (Lawson or 7eleven at 3min walk) - very helpful staff members and very polite. - restaurants nearby. - smoking room in the hotel.

Located very close to Kyoto station, the hotel exceeded our expectations and we felt great value for money. Beds were comfortable, bathroom well appointed and planned. Enough space for my 13yo son and I to enjoy a very comfortable stay. Enjoyed breakfast only one morning, and there was an excellent array of food - both Japanese and Western - to cater for all tastes. We enjoyed the complementary drinks and lounge in the foyer on arrival, staff were most helpful in answering our questions regarding a local festival and vantage points, and assisting with luggage storage and transfer. Highly recommend and would definitely stay again!

great location as the hotel is only about 5 minutes walk away from the Kyoto Station, there is a convenience store across the street of the hotel. The room that I stayed was not big at all but it has everything I need, you can tell there is lots if Kyoto element in the room decoration. Bed is soft and comfortable. The public bath is not big but is good enough for having a quick onsen experience

They only provide two bottles of water each day which are at the room. When I asked for a couple more they rejected my request. Hotels staffs services are mediocre and not as friendly/welcoming as I expect

the services of all the staff are so nice that i feel very comfortable. the price is also very affordable with almost everything needed well-prepared. the location is good which is not too far from the Kyoto station, making the usage of public transportation convenient.

even though there are some washing machines from F4 to F6, still the number is too small and every day we had to "fight" to find a machine for laundry. i can still remember the night we struggled to find one but kept being taken in advance when we were back at the end time.

Location = Very good, not too close and not too far from the Kyoto station and surrounded with convenient stores. Hotel (inside and outside) = Clean and stylish, love how they decorate everything. Room = Very clean, comfortable and well designed layout. Also a little bit more spacious than other hotels from my opinion. Staffs and Services = Very impressive services. Always smile and support me anything I needed the best way they could.

1. Don't quite understand about how their cleaning staffs handle a small garbage bin in a room toilet. Somehow the garbage in a toilet were not cleared in some day even if I've put the cleaning sign at the room door. I wish I could learn more so that I can plan about this beforehand. 2. I wasn't sure that the room toilet seat is supposed to warm like the one in the restroom behind the front desk on the 3rd floor. Mine wasn't warm but it wasn't cold either so it's okay, I guess.

We had a wonderful three-night stay at Rihga Gran Kyoto. The hotel is conveniently located just a short walk from Kyoto Station and also close to a FamilyMart. The staff were incredibly accommodating, allowing us to store our bags upon arrival so we could enjoy the afternoon in Kyoto. Our room was spacious, comfortable, and equipped with a wardrobe and a lounge area. The bathroom was modern and well-stocked with amenities, though we did think some fold-out hooks for bath towels would be a nice addition. We also appreciated the thoughtful extras, such as the tourist information and facility vacancy (for washing machines, communal baths and restaurant) available on the television, as well as the free soft drinks from the restaurant. Overall, we highly recommend Rihga Gran Kyoto for anyone visiting the city.

Nice and Comfy hotel. Room was pretty small. We are 2 adults with 2 medium suitcases and struggled to find place to put our suitcases open. Wardrobe space able to fit 2 shirts max, not 2 puffer jackets. Other than that, the hotel is fabulous, very clean, comfortable. Breakfast is great, comes in a small box set for everyone, and then there is still a small breakfast buffet on top of that, food was great!!. There is onsen, washing machine, free small snacks in morning and free drinks (tea & soda) at evening at a specific time range, which we greatly appreciated. Will definitely come back!!

Beautiful hotel, grand entrance hall, and great location near Kyoto station. Also close to convenience stores. Beds were comfy, baths were fab to use at the end of a long day of walking around! You get to use a cute basket to bring to the baths, with your towel, and comfy pyjamas are provided too. Leaving our luggage with reception was easy. Breakfast was fantastic, a triple tier box full of different tiny items plus the regular breakfast as well, we were stuffed!

The room was not huge so not much space for the suitcases, but we managed fine for a night’s stay.

Lovely Staff with good English. Luggage storage available in lockers (free). One of our suitcases were too tall and the staff were happy to leave it near the reception (many other luggage also left there - unsure why as they definitely appeared to fit in the lockers - maybe they were for those who hadn't checked in yet?). TV allowed you to view which washing machine/dryers were free and the times remaining. Close to Kyoto Station, under 10 mins by foot. But getting out of the correct exit on your first day to the hotel may be a little confusing, however, once you know your way you'll realise it's really close. There's a Don Quijote and mall just down the road from the hotel and across from Kyoto Station.

Not enough washing machine/dryers (2 in 1) for such a big hotel. We were always fighting over them. Drying function was not good. Modern hotel rooms with just enough space for large suitcases, but not enough outlets for charging. Carpets in rooms needed a good vacuum with a heavy duty strong vacuum cleaner. A lot of dirt and hair stuck to my barefoot :( It was definitely not our hair as the colour was different...

The staff were exceptionally friendly and we immediately felt comfortable in the very clean room (twin bed). Even when we had to spontaneously extend our stay for another night it was no problem to keep the same room, and the staff were very helpful with the changes. The breakfast was also very delicious and combined traditional Japanese food with "Western" breakfast options perfectly. The location is perfect, since it is about 5 walking minutes from Kyoto Station and we could reach every one of our sightseeing spots via train/bus easily. We only stayed for 5 nights, but I'd definitely recommend it for a longer stay as well!
