Location: Very convenient location as it's right next to Kyoto station. You'll be able access Kyoto very easily from here. Stay: Very spacious room. Nice balcony area to sit and relax. Photos give an accurate representation on the size. Laundry was free. They offered free drink service at night (alcohol and non-alcohol) at the restaurant on the ground floor. The vibes were amazing here, live music playing in the restaurant and relaxing in the lounge by the firepit was awesome. Quite enjoyed the different varieties of coffee beans that you can grind and drip brew. Breakfast was excellent and fresh, seems a lot of the food was made in house, with a mix of different options available, seating can be limited so make sure you leave enough time.

I found the pillow to be a bit thin, would love to get one with bit more volume.

We loved everything! Location, rooms, sauna, shared space, massage chairs and ambience. And the breakfast was the best in my life! Arigato gozaimasu.

A very convenient location. The breakfast is a bit pricy but they deliver great quality breakfast. I also love the onsen and that it caters until 1am, especially for those who just came back late from sightseeing and bar hopping around the city, to be able to relax after all the hustle and bustle of a day is the best! Bed, pillows were comfortable and the room was clean! Make sure to stay here everytime you come to Kyoto, 'cause for sure, we will!

We couldn't find any socket near the bed area, and we had to leave our phones near the television which is like the only visible socket in the room. It would've been better if there were near the bed area as we are always using our phones.

• We liked that the location was very convenient. • This is also one of the bigger rooms that we've stayed in. The space was a wonderful surprise. • The daily cleaning was very much appreciated. • The daily free coffee and 1 welcome drink was an added bonus (the coffee was good!)

• The lighting in the room was bad. Half the time we had to use our phone's flashlight to read things. • There was also no separate on/off for side lamps. If you want to read and your partner wants to sleep, too bad. • The wifi was extremely spotty, we ended up using our own data in the end :( • We asked the staff to help us book a place for dinner before we went out in the morning, and it seems like the AM and PM staff do not communicate. We had to repeat the instruction again when we checked at night to see whether it was done. It was not :(

Everything was great! Very good location, next to the station, but very calm and quiet. Breakfast was the best we had in our 3-week trip in Japan. Rooms are quite spacious compared to the average. The Onsen (SPA) was so relaxing after the day of exploring Kyoto. It's separate for men and women and is located in the building right next to the hotel. You do need to go through outside but there are slippers provided and umbrellas in case it rains outside. The Onsen has everything you need - from shampoos/conditioners to hair combs, make-up removals, etc. This hotel really thought about everything. :) I will certainly stay here again if I'm in the area next time.

Everything was perfect! The staff was amicable and always helpful, the room was tidy and clean and the bed was beyond comfortable. The hotel has two buildings right next to each other and they were both so beautiful and cozy. The extra free drinks were a bonus. The bath was incredible! The free pijamas were so comfortable I ended up buying one for myself. And the location? You couldn't have asked for a better place. Right next a 711 and a few minutes walk from the central station. I cannot recommend this hotel enough. It was without a shadow of doubt the best hotel stay of my life. I will be coming back next year!

There are several Sakura hotels, but The Gallery was the best by far. Big rooms with a balcony, really modern and comfortable. Not noisy at all. The bed is large and you sleep like a baby. The public bath is for all hotel guests, quite good and tattoos are allowed. In the main area there is a chill-out area with free drinks all evening. The restaurant (evening) is good value for money, even if the service is not so professional. There’s live music and fireplaces to sit around. We would definitely come back :-)

Everything seemed a little dusty, but that seems to be normal in Japan, not to clean the public areas. And I highly recommend NOT to take the breakfast, though. Overbooked, expensive and not worth the value for money. The central train station is 5 minutes away with several French breakfast chains. You’ll pay half the price there and eat a lot more quality.

Location is great! Few minutes walking from the train station! A 7/11 right next to the hotel. It is a bit different to have the reception outdoors, especially on a winter, rainy day. Minimalist and interesting concept. Room was nice, spacious and clean. The room was getting pretty cold and humid without the AC turned on. Breakfast was excellent, everything was delicious. The restaurant is nice as well for dinner, in case you don't want to go out after a long day of walking. Had to go to another building for the washing machine/dryer but you basically need to book your evening around this as there are only 2 washing machines and 2 dryers, always busy, people waiting "in line" for the next use. You can enjoy a cup of tea, a massage chair or the onsen while waiting. The outdoor chill spaces are beautiful - they will be lovely to be used once winter is over.

A bit humid and cold in the room. But this is winter, I suppose.

Very nice staff, we were able to leave the luggage at the reception before our check-in time which was very usefull. The room was quite spacious and also had a balcony. The hotel provides A LOT of free amenities such as washing and drying the laundry, welcome drink every night, tea/coffee/water during the day, onsen, gym, massage chairs. Really great hotel. The laundry station may get busy as this is a big hotel. The breakfast looked amazing but we did not decide to take it. The price was 2300 ¥ per person and there are limited number of seats available fot breakfast. If you know in advance that you want to have breakfast at the hotel, make sure to include it in your reservation as otherwise you may not get the seat. There are not a lot of places offering continental breakfast in Kyoto so the breakfast at the hotel may be handy.

The evening welcome cocktail and firepits were wonderful. I really loved the live music they had every evening. I got sick (not from this hotel or its food) and the front desk staff was totally helpful in obtaining medical transport for me incredibly quickly even with a language barrier.

This is really nitpicky, but they did not have an outlet next to the bed so I had to plug my phone and phone charger in at the desk clear across the room which was a bit of a bummer because I play sleep music on my phone to sleep and had to yell at siri to change songs rather than just tap, but that really was a minor annoyance rather than a major problem.
