Location was great and easy access to tours and the kyoto station station. My fave stores were behind it... 7-11, Donki, and Lawson's (nearby). It adjoins to Kyoto Station so even in bad weather it's comfortable to go to Kyoto Station. Kyoto Station has many great shops, eats, and facilities. The tour buses stop in front of hotel so it's an ideal logistical location for visitors. The airport limousine is comfortable and user-friendly. Keihan Grande hotel has very helpful, professional, personable and english-speaking staff also. The variety of toiletries and daily hygiene products are available and included plus water also. The elevators are spacious and fast moving. The rooms are spacious, clean, and wifi service is good also. Great place to stay while in Kyoto... highly recommend. :)

Bit noisy at night sometimes but not often... to be expected in popular and busy cities.

Keihan Kyoto Grande is a decent hotel with spacious rooms as comparable to other Japan hotels . The bathroom are clean and optimally sized . Toiletries (apart from creams and gash wash also bath cloth and hair bands) are available at the front office to be taken as per your need . A kettle was available in the room too , one needed to bring the coffee and tea bags from foyer . Night suits for all occupants were provided too . There is a small facility for the in house guest providing free coffee and aerated drinks from 3-10 pm. The front office desk staff is courteous. Bags can be stored at the reception if u arrive before check in and also after check out . We opted for the breakfast which had a good spread of Japanese cuisine , though vegetarian options were limited. A 7 eleven is located within the hotel on ground floor and also a mall (Avanti ) which has a Don Quijote within . Good eating joints around the place . The hotel is located across the road at the Hachioji west side of the Kyoto station . Just outside the hotel gate is an underpass which opens into the railway station . This allows easy access to the station when using trains for multiple rides . Would surely recommend this hotel for travellers wanting to explore Kyoto and its surrounding .

This hotel was extremely convenient located just across Kyoto Station and connect to a mall and the Donki store. The staff, Ms. Yuka, was extremely friendly and helpful. Made us feel at home. The hotel is clean and well lit. Rooms are large compared to typical Japan hotels. Cleanliness was great and room was well equipped. The breakfast buffet and dining view was excellent filled with various selection of good Japanese and western dishes.

Our only complaint is that we didn't have the opportunity to stay longer in this great hotel.

Great location! Train station is within a short walking distance. The building next door was perfect for us. It contained many shops and restaurants. The breakfast at the hotel was pretty impressive! So many choices at this buffet. The room we had was the Zen Garden Suite. Lots of space for 4 of us.

I prepaid for breakfast with one of our rooms, however, it was not honored by the hotel staff at all. We ended up paying for our breakfast, and it was well-worth it!

Hotel Keihan is a true gem, strategically nestled in the heart of everything Kyoto has to offer, with its proximity to malls and Kyoto Station making it a convenient hub for exploration. Its seamless connection to nearby shopping destinations and the station means guests can enjoy endless retail therapy without ever needing to step outside, truly enhancing the overall experience.

The vintage interior and language barriers stemming from the staff's limited English proficiency may pose challenges for guests seeking modern amenities and seamless communication.

Location is very convenient. It’s right next to Kyoto station. I picked the hotel because the bus tour I chose picks up just on the next building - Avanti. I didn’t have to wake up earlier and travel just to meet with the tour group. Breakfast has a good sampling of continental and Asian dishes. I didn’t know sleepwear is provided in Japanese hotels. I will pack even lighter next time.

Room space is limited but is expected.

Prime location next to airport shuttle bus, at Kyoto station and next to bullet train! Right next to Don Quito which is opened 24 hours. Plenty of good options around the area! Free drinks/soup downstairs from 2-8pm, I even had a matcha latte that was legitimate. The room was very big in Japan standards. Short bus/train ride to Gion, Nishiki Market. Friendly staff, very helpful when sending luggage to airport!

The bathroom smelled like sewer, the room had balls of dust in the corners, could be cleaned better!

Property is bang on Railway station and easily walkable. There is 7-11 just outside the hotel. Rooms are quite spacious. The rooms were clean and well lit.

The staff wasn’t very good, they denied us for drinking water, which was strange. Also the coffee at reception was operational from 14:00-20:00, didn’t understand the idea, when all the tourists would like to get a coffee in morning. A very strange stingy approach to cut the corners.

Hotel right behind Kyoto main train station. You can walk it there by using the basement shopping mall streets. It brings you out next to the hotel's entrance. We upgraded to the 'top floor Suprior' room, which gives you a nice view of the city with its own private entrance lobby. You get unlimited complimentary hot/cold non-alcoholic drinks including a Costa Coffee machine and Nepresso coffee machines/coffee capsules available to take to your room to use.

Room size - this is where I found it a major let down. You'd think 'superior' would mean spacious, but the room we stayed was narrow to a point you almost have to 'shuffle along' between room wall and end of your bed. There was no way you can lay your luggage flat on the floor anywhere. The room has a quirky design; it has a step leading down to a very tight space, next to the window, where they fitted a small couch, small coffee table and a dressing table in the corner. In the end we pushed the coffee table against this couch and laid our luggage out there. The room is on the 13th floor, but you can hear the pedestrian crossings below 'chirping' incessisently as there is a major road intersection next to the train station and hotel. Room was clean, but decor tired.

Right next door to a shopping mall, across the road from the train station, a few blocks from Aeon Mall and heaps of places in the area to eat. The rooms were a good size with lots of electrical outlets. Breakfast was fabulous with a huge variety of Asian and western food. Help yourself to coffee sugar, moisturiser etc in the lobby. Good pillows. Best hotel in my 3 week stay in Japan.
