Very spacious for 4 pax and very comfortable place - brightly lit, cozy bean bags, comfortable beds and Netflix available! It was the first hotel where 2 of us slept on futons, and there was a guide on how to set up our futons. If you have sensitive skin, it might be good to spray antibacterial spray first (not sure) Bathroom was split into 2: 1 part for toilet bowl + small sink, 1 part for larger sink with mirror, toothbrush and towels etc and bath tub + shower. Lobby was comfortable and aesthetic! You can take what you need eg bath towels/loofahs, razor etc from the front desk if you need them. Staff were very friendly and prompt in replying on both Booking.com and in person! They also provided us with recommendations for Kyoto ^_^ The location was very good as well - about 5-10mins walk to Kyoto Station, and also the bus ride from Gion area to the hotel was super fast. Quite easy to navigate to this place. They have 2 entrances btw! Was a comfy experience here. Will come back again.

This is a truly special hotel - the accomodation was great for us as a family of 5 and our kids loved the experience of sleeping on futon. The downstairs communal area is fantastic, a really lovely vibe and great place to spend time together here playing games or eating. The staff couldn't have been more helpful. We also loved the location, a lovely part of the city - away from the intensity but plenty nearby, a real treat for our kids was the manga store a few doors down!

The room was a little too warm even with a/c and fans going - but the weather was exceptionally hot when we were there.

This hotel is so freaking cute- it’s Beatles themed, which I didn’t expect, and the first floor is decorated in such a cozy way. The owners were playing The Mario Movie when we walked in, so my kids were delighted. We were all comfortable in this hotel, despite having to go out for breakfast. (They do have coffee on the first floor.) We were only here for a night, so we didn’t explore the area too much, but there are so many izakayas on the street that dinner is easy to find. Dinner with kids is slightly more challenging, but we found something a few blocks away. The beds were very comfortable, and the kids found their futons comfortable too. Of all the hotels we stayed in during our trip around Kyoto and Nikko, this was our favorite room layout. The generously sized and updated bathroom was great. The proximity to Kyoto station made it easy to use this hotel to transition out of Kyoto and continue our journey.

I do wish there had been breakfast, but there are options nearby.

Oh my goodness! What a great place to stay and what a fabulous staff! The guys were so helpful from the moment I booked! I was even sent a picture of them walking like The Beatles across a street in Kyoto – so cute! The owner is a huge John Lennon fan and Beatles fan as am I, and when I read review that mention this I immediately booked this hotel. I was not disappointed This hotel is the most beautiful and well appointed hotel. I stayed at in Kyoto. The architecture and the rooms are beautifully done. But that is nothing compared to how welcome you feel when you are greeted and meet the guys who work there. They are super friendly and super helpful. We got to meet the owner who was so nice! I hope this hotel opens other locations all across Japan so I can just stay at Hotel Imagine all across Japan.

I loved everything about the property. From the moment you walk through their beautiful entryway to the second the doors side open, and you enter into the hotel and are greeted by everyone to the great food at the restaurant next-door.

Modern clean chic hotel with casual elegance and comfort. Staff exceptionally friendly ( manager goes by “Happy Axe”) helpful and warm. Great easy location to public transportation. Rooftop seating area a nice touch and pleasant space. So appreciated laundry machines without built in detergent so we could use our own unscented detergent. Very helpful receiving and sending luggage between hotels.

Our room was on the bottom Floor - only room located there. There was a little noise from people using the common areas but it was minimal and hardly an issue.

Very aesthetically pleasing and convenient location close to kyoto station. There were lovely touches with references to Beatles in design. Beatles music piping the common lounge/kitchenette which feels cozy and homely. The staff were helpful while very respectful to giving space to guests. The bonus for us was staying on the ground floor which made the use of washing facilities so convenient.

Very small aspects like dust in deep corners. The sink is beautiful but water tend to splash out leaving stains on the wood edge at the corner. But these are unimportant compared to the overall stay.

The staff was really so lovely. Everyone who we interacted with was incredibly kind and went out of their way to make our stay as lovely as possible. I also loved the communal area next to the lobby of the hotel, which had a kitchen and all sorts of flatware/utensils to use for meals. The ambiance of the hotel was just perfect for our family, and we also really enjoyed hanging out on the roof! We also liked being walking distance from a mall with a food court and grocery store.

The location is a bit far from the locations we wanted to see in Kyoto, but that was not a problem as it was easy to access other parts of the city either by walking, hopping on the subway, or grabbing a cab.

Exceptionally helpful staff and owner. We expected a delivery of Sony notebook to the hotel and where not sure that the transport company would make it by the time we had to leave to the airport. The owner made an impossible - he called the delivery company and rearramged the route and the delivery arrived before 11:00 just when we planned to leave for railway station. It was a real magic. If not for his efforts we would have to reschedule the whole flight back home or arrrange another trip to Japan to pick our parcel.

The hotel is about five minutes walk from Kyoto Station, making it easy to get to and centrally located for exploring the city. The owner and staff are lovely and go out of their way to help. The hotel also has a nice rooftop garden and laundry facilities. The hotel doesn’t offer breakfast but there’s a cafe called Lower East about five minutes walk away and they do nice breakfasts and coffees.

The room was a little smaller than I thought it would be. When I looked at the pictures, I thought the screen door would slide shut, allowing us to split the room in two, but it’s just decorative. Still, a nice room!

Hotel Imagine was AMAZING!!! From the aesthetic appeal of the entrance and room, the feel of the hotel, it's cleanliness and modern feel even though it keeps it's traditional Japanese style as well. The staff were very friendly, helpful with directions/taxis/trains/recommendations. The room was very spacious, beautiful and clean, the beds SUPER comfortable, loved the blockout blinds for our young humans sleeping well, even a warming toilet seat! Loved the kimono pyjamas too, so beautiful to wear. Shared kitchen facility which was epic for us to cook food to our dietary requirements with everything you need. Location was great, just 6 minute walk to Kyoto station and another station to get you most places. Though we did find the trains a little confusing and used some taxi's/uber at times. It is away from the main area of Kyoto for shopping and markets, but it is a short train away for this and nice that it's not noisy.

I just wish we could have stayed longer!!
