The location is just the opposite of the Kyoto station as well as the airport bus stop (highly recommended) ,easy to reach the hotel without 3-minute walk. The staff are very helpful , but English should be strengthen for further improvement. The dining price is reasonable as I compared it with her counterparts in Porta.

The toilet paper is too thin, easy to get dirts. The rooms were fully occuopied all the time and I need to book it nine months before my arrival, it seemed to be a little too early according to my scedule. Forturnately, still my homecoming with the same room.

It was very clean and comfortable to stay there, onsen was one of the best hotel onsens we've had during our stay with a sauna and a cold pool and amazing cosmetic products. Breakfast was also outstanding. Also you can always check the status of the laundromat if there's free laundry machines at which floor. Excellent experience!

Might have been just a misunderstanding, but as I checked in with my wife, the lady at the counter kept on repeating that we only have one bed for two women and even drew on the check how we're going to be sleeping next to each other, and then she drew it again, and that was not needed at all, because we already know what we booked and this persistence seemed quite homophobic. My wife was upset afterwards. But besides that we didn't have any other troubles and the staff was always helpful during the rest of our stay.

I appreciated how professional, efficient and helpful the staff were. Always pleasant, always able to anticipate our needs.and requests. The beds and pillows were also of EXCELLENT quality. We were all tired from the long day of commuting to and from our homes to reach Kyoto, yet we felt very rested, thanks to the fabulous support from the mattress and pillows. We still have a couple more stays coming up at the Elcient as part of our travel plans and my friends and I are looking forward to staying again over there.

While our room was comfortable, the only drawback if at all, is that the room was a bit small for three adults. We understand that hotel rooms especially those near Kyoto station are generally very small but the excellent service and very high service standards easily outweigh this one drawback.

Overall the hotel is great in terms of location, cleanliness, efficiency. However, based on my request to get nearby rooms, they are not able to fulfil initially... one room in main tower and the other in annex tower. Even different floor we are ok but this is different tower. After request, they manage to get nearby rooms but i have to downgrade my room type. Is ok since i can be with my family.

room availability but this is not within their choice. However, i would actually be greatful if they could inform in advance when they know that not possible to be nearby.

The hotel had an onsen, so that was a huge bonus! We had a 3 bedder room, which was larger than most. Water pressure on the 11th floor was amazing! The hotel was a 5 min walk to Kyoto station, and convenience stores like 7-11 and Lawson. The front of the hotel had a bus stop, where you can catch the bus to Gojozaka, where Kiyomizu-dera is. The hotel also provided essentials like toothbrush, toothpaste, combs, shavers, body lotion etc, and in the rooms, there was hair-dryer, body soap, shampoo and conditioner, bathrobe for the onsen, literally everything for your stay was provided for.

Our room on the 11th floor faced the main road, early mornings and late into the nights you can hear traffic and ambulance sirens. The room could get a little stuffy, as it was March and the aircons blew warm air, so the windows had to be opened, and thus the dilemma of the traffic noise - a minor hiccup.

Excellent location literally 5 minute walk to the station. Friendly helpful staff. Reasonably sized quiet room, Laundry rooms located on two floors (4th & 8th) with vending and free ice machines in the same area. There are separate floor for smoking and non-smoking so when you book your stay make sure you indicate your preference.

No English international news channels such as BBC, CNN or Fox etc. Tiny 'modular type' bathroom with a shower over the bath arrangement, tiny built in basin (there was a larger basin in the room just outside the 'modular bathroom') and the normal Japanese electronic toilet. The pillows where very hard and the bed extremely firm but still comfortable if you like a firm bed. You are only given one coffee bag per person in the room so if you enjoy a cup at night and then again in the morning you will need to request additional coffee bags.

Conveniently located near the Kyoto station and the drop off point for the airport limo bus. The onsen facility was wonderful. Providing Kose toiletries and all you need to have a relaxing spa time.

The room is on the small side but that is to be expected for most hotels in Japan. The bed was comfy and everything was clean though. What I did not like was their inflexibility with early check in. It was just a flat out “no”. They did not offer the option of perhaps paying a per hour rate if we wanted to get our room earlier.

Room was very comfortable. Bigger beds than some of the hotels we stayed in. Toilet was standard. We used the washing machine but it was in another building. Easy to use. Location was just next to Kyoto station and there is a 7-11 next door. It had everything we needed.

Checking out. We were checking out in the evening while lots of guests were checking in. We tried to use the machine to check out because we were in a hurry and there was a long queue but it looked like it had an error or something. It didn't say we couldn't use the machine to check out. One of the staff came to help but she didn't look very friendly, maybe we did something wrong. It took us a while for her to sort the "error", actually we didn't know what's wrong and she didn't explain. She walked off and we just stood there for some time.

The staff was very helpful, even assisting us in calling the rental agency and speaking to them in Japanese to support us. They speak little English at the reception and rely heavily on Google Translate, but you can still make yourself understood. Breakfast was not included, so we don't know how the food is, and we didn't try the Japanese spa, but the hotel was very close to the station, trains, and metro, which is essential for a big city like Kyoto. The room was clean, comfortable, and more spacious than usual. There's a 7/11 below the hotel, a coin laundry, and a mall nearby.

Everything was as expected, more than fine for the price paid.

This was our second stay at the hotel on our current trip in Kansai. As before, the staff were very efficient, professional and quite helpful. The beds and pillows are still the best compared with those of other hotels. And the hotel's proximity to Kyoto station is still enviable and hard to beat.

As the hotel is far from new, the size of the rooms are typical of older hotels in Kyoto, especially those in close proximity to Kyoto station. However, their long experience with guests from all over the world more than compensates for this slight disadvantage.
