Great location, great value for money it wasnt expensive at all and was perfect for 3 nights. I was always away to enjoy Osaka so I was in the hostel only for nights. So what I can stay is the accommodation is great, but the three floors with only stairs is kinda hard with your luggages :( the room is a little too small but it’s okay. They offer reduced prices ticket for the SPA WORLD and you should definitely get some ! The SPA which is located 2 min away from the hostel was one of my favorite experience in Osaka. Also really close to the subway station ! It was perfect to get to Universal Studio early in the morning and be one of the 1st to enter Super Mario world hahahah.

Having a private room at this price was awesome. The place is super close to Dobutsuen-mae Station (動物園前駅), which made getting around really easy. The neighborhood has tons of little izakayas and karaoke bars—lots of cool spots to check out. There are also a couple of Super Tamade grocery stores and a Don Quijote nearby, so grabbing snacks or anything else you need is super convenient. The area does have a bit of a sketchy reputation, but honestly, I never felt unsafe at all. Inside, the hallways are covered in colorful graffiti art, which gives the place a fun, unique vibe. One of the best parts? You can rent a bike from Hostel Toyo and cruise around the neighborhood
It was a bit annoying that light switch for the room is placed outside the door. On a few late nights, one can hear cars revving up engines and racing down the Abiko-Suji street. There is no paper towel provided in the sink area but it is understandable with the price point. It can be solve by making a trip to a grocery store

This hostel is of really convenient location. The staff is very kind. The room is basic and definitely well represented in the pictures. All rooms have a window and a/c. I was able to get big towels and wished I had been around for the meditation on Sunday mornings. The showers are well equipped with a really strong shower head and shower gel, shampoo and conditioner. There are plenty of Japanese convenient toilets and lots of amenities. Amazing value for money.
My room needed a bit of a thorough vacuum clean as I kept stepping into someone's nail clippings (nothing a tissue could not collect - which is what I did). Other than that, everything was great and nothing could beat this price!

It was the second time I booked this hotel and I was not disapointed. The staff is very friendly and if you have any problem during your stay, they will find a way to help you. The hotel in itself is quite old but it was clean. The biggest perk of this hotel is that you have your own private room for the same price as an bed in a dormitory. This time I directly booked a room with an AC which was quite handy during the rainy season. If I come back to Osaka, I would probably come back !
Please keep in mind that it is an old hotel, therefore the walls are quite thin and the doors are a little bit difficult to open sometimes. But, some people, were making a lot of noise at 1am and disturbing the sleep of the other guest.

One of the most fun experiences I've ever had while traveling. Toyo hotel is a a unique experience and truly a "home away from home". The room is good for the price, but you just use it for sleeping. The best thing about this hotel is the common room. The people here are incredibly friendly, both staff and other customers. One thing that amazed me that I don't see mentioned that much in other reviews are the activities that the staff organize once in awhile. They are a great way to learn about japan and connect with others. I ESPECIALLY recommend this hotel for people studying japanese. There are lots of japanese learners here, and the staff is always available to answer your questions. All in all, this was just amazing, and I could say that this little hotel itself was the highlight of my entire Osaka trip. Thank you Toyo! I can't wait to be back!

I think this is the best place to stay in Osaka if you are travelling on a budget, don't think about it, just book it. I was here in Janauary, so the room was cold, but the staff gave extra blanket and they were very friendly with how the washing machine works as well (it's super easy). The toilet and shower is clean, and they are all separate shower rooms so there's no problems with privacy. The room itself is small, however I think it's perfectly enough for 1 person, again, it's a really good room for the amount you pay. The next time I am in Osaka, I am definitely gonna stay here again
The room was cold in January (no aircon room) but they gave an extra blanket

Very good cost for who is traveling along, a great location that you can reach everywhere with much transferring and pulling your luggage.
This is not a comment of unsatisfied but I wont recommend someone who is sleeping sensitive to choose here and give a bad record to this good place. As the rooms are for any kinds of people from every country, you cannot choose your neighbors so ones there’s anyone sleeps very late or snoozing loud, that will effect your sleeping quality. Because theres no strict rule for everybody, I probably fall asleep till 2AM every night.

Great and helpful staff, good location - very close to Tsutenkaku, the zoo, konbinis. The room has just what you need if you travel - a comfy bed to sleep and a bit of space for the luggage. Nothing useless fancy, you come, get shower, go to sleep and go explore again. We didn't use the common room but I imagine it would be a nice place to meet new people if that's your thing. The room felt a bit cold for my friend in April but it's okay to ask for another blanket.
Thin walls let us know about some of the louder guests with coughing but that is something hardly anyone could do something about. Just be aware that maybe choose another hotel if you are very sensitive to noise.

Wow, I would love to give to this hostel more than the maximum note as the employees were so genuine, kind and helpful! Besides, the hostel is so beautiful, with inspiring paintings and drawings everywhere. Activities are organized and it is a place where you can have your comfortable private room (at a very affordable price) while socializing in the common areas. There are even instruments there! I loved all the commodities (shower etc.) and the first step I put in that hostel inspired me to have that thought: "I want to come back in Osaka just for this hostel!" I highly recommend this place!
I loved every single thing!

Location, just a minute walk from metro, few more minutes from JR and a bit more for Nankai, great for who need Kansai airport connections. Availability of super affordable coin laundry. Food nearby are authentic and wallet friendly.
A bit pricy, particularly air con room but it's essential in summer. Certainly there're more affordable properties nearby, but require a more walking and some don't provide online reservation hence all depends on luck. Beware, walls are thin and sounds outside can be heard clearly, not for sensitive ears.
