Much bigger than a capsule hotel so you can spread out a bit, things are secure in a room rather than a locker and there even a small desk to work on and television. Rooms also had air conditioning! The room had a small genkan, tatami flooring and was equipped with a futon with sheets/blanket and a kit with washcloth, tissues and toothbrush/paste. The commons area had a bar style table with charging stations with complementary tea, coffee and hot water for your cup ramen. There was also a microwave oven. Bathroom on each floor are not co-ed which for me was preferable. You can rent pajamas and but a towel from them if you need it. There’s also a small public bath on the roof (indoors) with a large window of a limited cityscape. If you’re coming from Osaka International Airport or visiting Dotombori or the World Expo, the train station drops you off right next to the hotel. Just make a left from the west exit of Shin-Imamiya station and you’re there.

Walls are thin so you hear everything from the neighbors tv to the train station next door. However they provide ear plugs by the downstairs elevator which was effective enough for me. Each floor seems to have only one shower but three vanities equipped with a blow dryer. I say seems because I didn’t go to each floor. The futon matters they provided was a little on the thin side and my back and hipbones payed the price.

The hotel was excellent for a tatami room and shared bathroom. This hotel (Sunplaza) has three locations on the same street. They’re well-organized with the regular cleaning and maintenance of the facilities. The onsen and shower room were lovely. I would just point out that for those who are accustomed to having an en-suite bathroom, like me, it does take some time to get into a routine. But if you’re having a long stay, it’s worth it. If you stay here, I suggest taking the Nankai line train to Shin-Immamiya. You will have an elevator to take to the ground level (south exit) and you will be right at the doorstep of the hotel.

Nice place next to Shin Imamiya station and close to Shinsekai. Friendly staff, fast check in and check out. Coffee, tea and water available for free in common space on the 1st floor. There were also microwave and kettle. In price small face towel, teeth brush, toothpaste and tissues were included. Taking into consideration the location close to the station hotel prepared also free earplugs.

My floor was without shower, so I needed to go to the other floor which was inconvenient, especially that corridors were chilly (my stay was in November). Room itself was also a little bit cool for me - I am aware that in Japan there is no central heating, so probably there is not much that can be done in this case, I am just a chilly person.

Hotel Sunplaza is beside Shin-Imamiya station, so it is very convenient to go to many places in Osaka (via Osaka loop line) and Kansai airport (via Nankai Line). The room is clean and ideal for short trips. There are common showers and toilets on upper floors and private showers for women on the first floor. We were provided with a small towel (I recommend bringing your own) and toothbrush-toothpaste set. Shampoo, body wash, and hair dryers are provided in the shower areas. Because we went during a summer festival, we were given freebies. We usually cannot book here since the rooms get filled fast, but we'll definitely book here again.

Since the place is beside the station and is in front of a busy road, there can be outside noise at night. It is highly recommended to bring your own noise-cancelling earphones or you can get free ear plugs provided by the hotel.

Well, I’ve made the mistake of reserving a Smoking Room, and I don’t smoke cigarettes. I asked the staff if it was possible to change the room to a Non-smoking one, and they were kind and helped me giving another room key to correct the mistake. The first floor has tables, microwave and drinks, so I could stop and eat something at anytime. They have laundry room, I was able to clean my clothes before leaving the hotel. The bath house on the rooftop for men was clean and comforting too.

The slippers available for use are in only one size, so my feet were uncomfortable when I had to use them.

The hotel is well-equipped with free coffee and tea. There are also microwave ovens to heat food up. The hotel is located right next to the train station and a few minutes'walk from the subway station.There are a number of supermarkets in the neighborhood. The price is very affordable.

There might be some non-residents using the hotel facilities, such as cooking their meals, which made it quite crowded during dinner time.

i did not like the fact that the floor I'm in doesn't have a shared shower room. i booked a single room but had to use an elevator to shower. i saw some reviews saying that the walls were thin, i thought they were exaggerating but it is real, it didn't bother me until there was a commotion one night.

Location of the hotel was convenient! Just beside a JR line, and a few minutes walk away to the Metro. Nearby many vending machines, a few convenience stores and local small eateries. The hotel provided local recommendations to attractions and places to grab cheap/late night snacks or food which was helpful. Provided an amenities kit. Lounge available to all residents at the first floor provided free coffee, tea and charging ports. Public amenities were mostly kept clean most of the time.

Door not very soundproof, could occasionally hear people walking past the doors. Most floors have a toilet and shower room to be shared with residents on the same floor, however at popular timings (early mornings/evenings), may have to go to another floor's shower or wait a turn.

I like the environment, space, facilities and staff cooperation and even the they changed my when I just told them my wifi isn't connected and room was cosy for enjoying alone time and also the location was best to go to anywhere

In night, the sleep is usually disturbed due to noise of neighbors and also the walk steps of person in corridor but they gave you earplugs.

If you're a solo backpacker and just want a single room for the night this place is very good value - if you're used to hotels this might not meet all your expectations but you get what you pay for. It's still very affordable. Location is great (including for the airport) there are showers on each floor in addition to onsens and you get free coffee, they even gave out free Halloween treats on check in. Staff were also super kind helping me try to find a lost hoodie.
