Everything about this Ryokan was perfect. The beds are futon and so so comfortable. The Ryokan is old but very clean so has a lovely old world feel to it. It is away from the main tourist area which was very nice as it is quiet. We had a car so it was only 5minutes to the tourist area and there are lots of parking options in town. But there is also the option of a bike to hire from the Ryokan. The onsen is so beautiful & has two massage chairs. The breakfast was delicious. We had two vegetarians in our group and this was not a problem, they just made a variation for them. The room was very comfortable with a huge bath. They have cold water in the room and hot water on tap in an urn. The staff were all so friendly. In particular the lovely lady on the front desk, she made us feel so welcome. We stayed three nights but were sad to leave. We wish we could have stayed longer.

I like the food, it was delicious! The room also spacious and clean, with Japanese style interior. Our room has parking lot as view, but we came at winter so it was snowy and beautiful so we don't really mind. The onsen was great and they have beautiful 露天風呂 (outdoor bath), and it was winter so the garden is filled with beautiful snow.

I booked the room for 4 people, two of them are 2 years old toddlers with half board meal (dinner & breakfast) option for all of us. The dinner was great, so we expect the breakfast will be good too. However, for the breakfast we only got two meals for adult, and our toddlers didn't. It was later discovered after waiting for 30 minutes that there are no breakfast provided for our toddlers, and we had to pay more for their meals. Apparently, this is the ryokan's own policy. I really don't mind paying extra for my kids meal, but I hope they inform the next guests with toddler at the check in next time so other families won't have to wait for a long time for their kid's meal that will never come without additional cost.

The lobby is a piece of art, the onsen is really really beautiful. Room bathroom is so small that you can barely move...but with such a beautiful onsen it would be a mistake to shower in there. Overall very positive experience.

The location wasn't very good, and it was pretty far from the station. But the extra walk is worth it.

Traditional and attractive room; very good onsen bath

A bit distant from the centre of town - caused a problem in booking a taxi. Was a bit puzzled that they couldn't provide breakfast or dinner even though there were many tables free. The nearby supermarket was a potential eating venue but we weren't informed of this.

The authenticity of the place

The location, is twenty minutes from the station and if you have big luggage is so difficult, and in summer with the crazy weather.. They dont have a shuttle to the station. Also in the description of the property, they say rent bicycle, but they dont have this service available.

The lady on reception was extremely lovely! She was so welcoming and friendly! The rooms were lovely with a wonderful 1970’s feel! Our room had a very comfortable futon and a lovely lounge area! The onsen was fantastic. I would definitely come here again and recommend this place!

It was great, everything was perfect. They had all amenities you would need for a perfect stay in the mountains. Also I must make a special mention to the staff working there, everyone was really sweet and super helpful, couldn't be more happy to have stayed here.

Friendly staff, the room was spacious and traditional . I liked the vibe . If you have a car or don't mind walking 20 min to get to the town this is a good stay.

Old but incredibly charming and full of character. The onsen facilities are superb, I used it everyday. The staff, every single one of them, were extremely friendly and courteous

A trully Japanese experience in a cozy place. The location is great, closed enough to walk to the city center.

Nothing to complain. Everything was great, it was a great value for money.
