Great value for money, located literally on a subway station so it's very convenient to go places, I had a single room which was tiny but perfect for a man of my size. Best breakfast out of the 3 star hotels I've been to, very versatile and actually had cheese which in Japan is kinda rare. Very close to great local restaurants and supermarkets. .

The thing that annoys me the most is the fact you can't use the stairs, even for one floor up or down. In times of check in or out, you can wait even 5-10 minutes for an elevator which obviously stops almost at every floor. I was at the highest so you can imagine what a nightmare it could be. I literally timed my in and out of the room because of that. I know it's a thing in hotels in Japan but it's not right.

We loved the quiet neighborhood, the hotel is next to the station so it’s easy to get around the city. The room was also nice with a very nice view of the district. The staff was kind, especially one trainee who helped me find the earrings that I left in the bathroom before checkout!

No tattoos allowed at the spa. I know it’s Japanese culture, but the hotel has many international guests (if not all of them).. I would expect to have a bit of a more open-minded approach.

Location to transport. Quiet. Clean rooms. Staff try their best to help. English speakers, have patience if there's an issue, eventually someone can help or you will need to stick to what you know and they will eventually come around. They just have a slow process or sometimes will say yes and not follow through, likely because they think they understand but don't. Definitely come prepared with your translator. (Eg. My travel buddy had no air con, his room became a sauna!!!! After a few calls and a visit to the desk at midnight and afterwards, the staff kept saying they would or had fixed it. They didn't, it made him sick and he didn't sleep a wink. The next day, after requesting to move, the agent simply apologised and activated his room properly, which turned on the aircon)

There's a weird rule that if you're not drinking or eating anything, you can't be in the restaurant even when you are in a group of people. My friend felt unwell, but enjoying the company of our group who were eating and drinking. He was told to leave, which was ridiculous. So, the entire group left to find a restaurant that didn't mind his simple presence. We were the only people there, so it's not as if he was taking up needed space. The suedo check-in process is strange and a bit tedious. It's meant to make things easier, but it makes the process longer, and everyone needs staff assistance. There is always a line of guests at peak times because the check-in takes too long. It's like an airport check-in system.... but not very intuitive.

Very close to train stations, easy to go around. Staff are very helpful. Bed is very comfy. Onsen is a bonus!

Stayed 4N, The room is very small, we dont have option to temporarily store our big luggage in a separate storage room to easily move in such a very small room. We could not make outside local calls from the room (like reservation to restaurants) - ideally, if its a local call (Tokyo area) we should be allowed to make local calls.

This is my second time staying here. I feel safe as a solo female traveler and it’s location it’s great. You’re close enough to shinjuku and train stations but also out of the chaos of the more party centred places.

I had a dress hung up to dry in my bathroom and on cleaning day of my room it appears housekeeping have splashed bleach on my dress by mistake. I wouldn’t let it put me off staying again but it’s unfortunate as it’s ruined the dress.

All APA hotel rooms are small, just like most others in Japan. If you set this expectation, then with everything else you will be happy. Extremely clean, all the little extras like razors, shampoo, toothbrush and toothpaste etc. Beds were comfortable and this location was great, right near the station and lots of 7Eleven's and family marts nearby. They also had an indoor and outdoor onsen and free yukata's to wear when wondering around the hotel.

air conditioning wasn't the best, off a bit warm and on , freezing. However you can open the windows at most of the APA's and I really enjoyed just having the fresh air.

First off, great location. Nishishinjuku-Gochome Station is a minute walk to the hotel, and since this station is an Oedo Line station, you can easily access to other great stations like Shinjuku, Aoyama-Itchome etc. to get to whichever plave you want as the Japanese metro system is immaculate. Secondly, the staff was very friendly and helpful, though none of them spoke fluent English. Can't blame them, nobody I spoke in Tokyo did. And, thus, finally, the room cleaning service was really good, so much so that (it's maybe me who didn't see such service before, but) they virtually tidied and renewed everything (toothbrushes, combs, razors, etc.), and even neatly folded some of my t-shirts lying around on my bed while making it again - so, thanks:) Recommended for solo travelers for sure.

Onsen is great. Very clean and nice space, I would recommend to anyone. Also shower is nice. Close to station, good if you have luggage.

There is nothing touristic close to the hotel, so we needed to get the train everytime

Great location, a few minutes walking distance to Nishishinjuku station. Although the room itself was quite small and compact, space is provided to store luggage under the bed. Clean bathroom and bedding with an amazing view of the city. The onsen facilities are clean and designed to be relaxing.

The self service laundry was very unpleasant to use. Only 3 washing machines and 3 driers to cater for the entire hotel. Took several hours to dry clothes after paying several times to use the machine which prevented others from using it on time. If you have a flight the next day, don’t do self service laundry here as you may be flying with wet clothes.

I was initially a bit sceptical about booking after reading some mixed reviews, but I'm happy to say that my experience exceeded expectations. This hotel offers fantastic value for money, and I think some lower-rated reviews may stem from expecting a 5-star luxury experience at a very affordable price. For the average traveller, this hotel is perfect. It's directly across from a well-connected train station, making it easy to get around. Plus, it’s within walking distance to vibrant neighbourhoods filled with markets, shops, and dining options. The rooms are compact, but they’re on par with other hotels in Tokyo, and they make excellent use of space. Each room is well-equipped with amenities, from complimentary water and tea to toiletries like toothbrushes, razors, hairbands, and combs. Fresh towels and supplies are replenished daily, which I really appreciate. One of the highlights is the on-site onsen—a wonderful addition! The hotel even provides free tattoo cover-up stickers, making it accessible for everyone. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel for those looking for comfort, convenience, and value without the luxury price tag.
