It's good enough for a night stay as the room is really very small in Tokyo. I like that this place was near to the hustle and bustle of Shinjuku and near to Don Quixote so I did my shopping after all the attraction closes for the night. The breakfast spread is decent however they will start to clear the item by 9.30am.

For the a hotel chain, there is only 1 lift that served the entire hotel. Imagine when you are at the lower floors and by the time the doors open, the lift is full and you have to wait for the next one. The hotel does remind on the peak times when the lift will be congested but what happens if that lift is not in operation? Do they use the stairs? Why can't I use the stairs? I stayed on the 2nd Floor and I wanted to use the Fire exit down to the 1st Floor. However it is only designated for Emergency Use only and there was a cover for the door knob which requires to be removed before the door can be opened. As I do not know if the alarm would go off for using the Fire exit, I was stuck waiting for the lift.

We stayed at the APA Hotel in Shinjuku and found the location absolutely superb — perfect for accessing everything from shops and restaurants to vibrant nightlife. It’s especially suitable for young couples or groups of friends, as the streets come alive at night with energy and a youthful crowd. The area around the hotel isn’t particularly charming in the morning, but if you’re after convenience, it doesn’t get better than this. The hotel itself is clean, compact, and well-equipped. The room had everything we needed for a comfortable stay, even though the space was small — which is pretty normal for Tokyo. If you’re looking for a central spot in Shinjuku with easy access to all the action, this is a great choice!

I had a fantastic stay at APA Hotel Shinjuku Kabukicho Chou. The hotel is in an ideal location—central to Kabukicho yet tucked a couple of blocks away from the main action. As expected in Tokyo, the room was compact but thoughtfully designed, spotlessly clean, and perfectly comfortable. As a solo traveler, the space was more than sufficient, and the pricing was very reasonable. I opted for a preferred room, which was updated and located on a higher floor, offering nice views. Although I didn’t include meals in my reservation, I ended up dining at the main-floor restaurant several times and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food and drinks. The restaurant staff were warm and attentive, adding to the positive experience. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my time here and would absolutely book again when visiting Shinjuku or Kabukicho. Highly recommended!

Nothing!

The nearest station was the JR Shinjuku Station (About 5-10 minutes walk from the hotel). Lawson and Family Mart (24/7) are pretty much located at every corner, no fear of getting hungry in the middle of the night! This hotel is also near clubs/bars so if you are into night scenes, than this is the place for you as you can simply walk home after drinking. The staff here are super helpful and friendly even though they are not that well-versed in English but we communicated fine with simple English. The facility is pretty clean and modern looking. Although the room is a little small but they have everything you need for a comfy stay (I stayed for 7 days). Will definitely re-visit this place again when I am travelling to Japan.

As the sound proofing is not as great, you might experience noises (Music playing/People talking or laughing loudly) coming from the Clubs/Bars nearby.

The location is very good. The hotel is within walking distance from Shinjuku station. You can get anywhere in Tokyo from there.

Kabukicho is full of life every night. If you're into that, you are going to love it. However, if you're planning to get some restful sleep, think twice. The area can get very noisy and is filled with light.

- Good location. Easy walk to Shinjuku Station even with a roller bag. Lots of things to see in the neighborhood. - Helpful front desk staff. - The rooms are tiny, but have everything you need for a couple nights. Just barely enough room to open a check-in size bag though. - The high pressure, high temperature shower was just what I needed. - Spotless bathroom - I wasn't expecting toiletries, slippers and a robe to be included. Nice touch.

- Checkout is at 10am. If you want a later checkout it's 2000yen per hour. - The hallways are open to the outside. It's pretty cold in January. - A nearby establishment plays the same melody every few minutes. Earplugs don't block it completely.

Brilliant location - very cosy rooms - you have to expect a more compact room as a Western person but honestly, we had no problems as the suitcases fitted perfectly under the bed. Always kept very well clean, towels and little toiletries were replaced daily, which was fabulous.

Only thing to note was there is no wardrobe and only a very small hanging area - so be prepared to live out of your suitcase. We also had no problems with this as it was such great value and in the hustle and bustle of Shinjuku!

Really amazing location, great nightlife but not noisy at night, breakfast was good. Very clean and comfortable with a mirror conveniently placed by the table, great for getting ready. Only thing was that they had no laundromats and only one elevator, otherwise amazing, spent 5 great nights here, I recommend it to anyone looking to experience Tokyo nightlife and a neighborhood that really never sleeps.

The hotel is located in the heart of Kabukicho and it is only a 8-minute walk to Shinjuku Station, so it is great for travellers who want to join one-day tours from Tokyo of which the meet up point is Shinjuku Station.

One problem is they only clean the room once every three days; and if you would like them to clear the rubbish, you need to put a plate on the door by 9am, which is a bit too early. The hotel is also in quite a doggy area with loads of people promoting 無料案內所 (services in the red lights district) to you in the evening.

The room is really small, especially the bathroom but good enough for one person. Not much space to open a suitcase though.

It’s January and cold af so the heater was automatically on. I couldn’t figure out anyway to get AC. Only realised towards the end of the stay that the window could be opened to let some cool air in the room. Also, way too far from Shinjuku station. If you arrive in unpleasant weather conditions like winter or summer or heavy rain, bear in mind you got to drag your suitcase in the streets under the weather until you get here. Advise to pick the hotels closest to station instead. Also tiny bathroom not pleasant.
