I enjoyed the ambiance of the hostel. I felt like it was very clean and well-kept. I enjoyed how much space there was and the seating area! I also really like the location of the hostel. I didn't have to worry about walking far to the station or worrying about transferring trains since it's next to Shinjuku station (a huge common station). I was happy that there was space to put my suitcase other than under the hostel beds. I enjoyed that the hostel workers gave you a tour and walked you through the hostel and to your bed. Felt very welcoming! Also appreciated the safe in the beds to lock away important items.

You could not lock up your suitcase, so it wasn't super secure. I would suggest adding some more English books to the manga collection. I also thought that the workers came off as a bit intimidating and annoyed when asked for help. Should also consider getting a bigger water container for the guest to get water. It ran out very quickly.

Staff was friendly, nice place to sit and eat, drink or read, clean toilets, showers, bathroom in general.

'Rooms' were not clean enough, found some old dirt, so called 'blankets' should have linen to cover it all.

Very quiet at night despite many guests. Book and bed is well located in shunjuku. Interior decoration/design is very cool, the books and furniture create a cozy atmosphere. The accommodation offers a great view.

The sanitary facilities such as showers, washbasins and toilets were dirty at all times of the day. Apparently it wasn't cleaned every day, because dirt from the previous days, such as old hair ties or hair, accumulated on the floor or in the sink. The floor in the lounge area and the tables in the breakfast room were also not cleaned, even breakfast was served on the dirty table. I traveled in Japan for three weeks and never stayed in a single accommodation that was so dirty. When i prepeared the bed, old clouds of dust appeared.

The staff were fantastic, the location was perfect, and the coffee at the cafe was also very good! The novelty of the property was fun and there were plenty of books to read in the common area if you were bored. The bathroom facilities were basic but adequate, and it was a great spot for a short stay or something unique.

The bathrooms were shared, cleaned once a day, and could use a refresh. The facilities were basic, but adequate for a short stay. The mattress in the pod was thin and more like a ryokan mattress. Good for short stays, but we stayed for 4 nights and it was a bit much.

The place is well located if you want to go out and immediately being in the heart of the city. Internally is really intimate and relaxing, and if you struggle with sleeping there are books!!! Love the vibes, i'll definitely come back.

Hosts could be more polite when using toilets cleaning the sink, maybe an advertisement could help. Moreover in my bed, on the locker there was some dust that should be cleaned more carefully.

The ambiance is so calming, I loved how chill it was. The smell of books is everywhere and the library like feel makes it easy to stay quiet, which is great for staying in a hostel. The area was well lit and the facilities were clean.

This is a problem with all capsule hotels but the air in the bed zone gets stuffy pretty quickly. I had a portable fan that helped me through the night. Other than that there was a noticeable drone that I could hear from my bunk that would have kept me up if I hadn't had noise cancelling headphones. I think it may have been the building's ventilation? I was ok though because I wouldn't go to a hostel like this without ear plugs anyway.

I had read so many bad reviews about this place, so my expectations were very low… but our entire stay turned out to be a pleasant surprise. First of all, the place (especially the shared bathroom) was exceptionally clean, perfectly clean. I still don’t understand how they managed to maintain such quietness (the hostel is on the 8th floor, nestled between two bars that stay open all night). The staff is incredibly nice, kind, and helpful. We were always greeted when we came in, and they were always available to assist guests. The breakfast they offer is unbelievably aesthetic and also unbelievably good. Considering how affordable the place is, we didn’t expect something so thoughtfully prepared. I really recommend this place it’s definitely worth it.

Literally in the middle of Shinjuku besides Tokyu Kabukicho Tower and near the Godzilla Head. About 8 min walk from Shinjuku Station. Several konbinis nearby with a Family Mart across the street. Located on 7th floor overlooking the famed Shinjuku Square. Amazing and unique common space with many books of various genres. Many art books too so it’s fine if you can’t read Japanese. Free breakfast every day in the connected café, a choice of a sandwich and drink. Plays trendy music which is turned off later in the night. Huge room size with many capsules and the common space. Very spacious capsule with a safe. Has a small bathtub. Towel provided.

Area gets rowdy later in the night. No washing machine or dryer. Very thin mattress. Capsule gets pretty hot. Not enough toilet and showers.

Definitely one of the most unusual and coolest places I've ever stayed at. Easy to find and not far from the subway. Amazing design, there are no words to describe how beautiful it is. You can read a book all night with a view. Comfortable bunk beds. Enough space to sit and enough comfort to enjoy. Clean showers and toilets.

I stayed on a Saturday night, and there's a nightclub above the hostel, so the whole place was trembling from vibrations and loud, horrible music. It's not a mistake of the hostel, but just be prepared and don't book for the weekend, I guess.

I would say that the pictures are exactly what you can expect for this accommodation. Cute , niche and unique this hostel is located on the 8F with 2 lifts to access it. It is located I would say on the outskirt of the main Shinjuku area, prime position to get to everything. Not your average bunk bed set up, the beds are almost like a capsule vibe hidden amongst book shelves - at least in the main common area, with some extra beds around the corner less concerned with aesthetics. We stayed in a double and were "top bunk", it was winter so the heaters were going. The beds are a traditional thin Shikibuton roll out mattress on top of ply wood "flooring". Linen provided. There is a shelf and some hanging hooks in each space for personal items. And power sockets for personal devices. The area is clean, has a little cafe attached which we did not use, but offers coffee and some small foods. Views from the edges of the property are great. The bathrooms are clean and promote clean as you go for all guests. Shampoo and body wash provided. We arrived early and the hostel let us leave our luggage there until check-in. I would stay here again however I would definitely require a bottom bunk.

Unfortunately we experienced that on the top bunk, the hot air from the heaters made it very hot in there and we were sleeping practically with no sheet or clothes and still sweating. The ladders are small and round which we found hurt our feet and with the small entrance your capsule we found it a little dicey coming out of them and using the ladder. As this place is pretty booked out, the storage spaces under the bottom bunk is for shoes and baggage. As a result some luggage doesn't fit and is left in the main walking areas at night, there isn't much space to navigate opening a suitcase other than where the record seating area is /or the floor but then you are in everyone's way.
