LOCATION! WPU is located in the centre of Shinjuku. The train station is just a few minutes away and there are so many eating places, bars and massage parlours nearby. The rooms are tiny but comfortable. It is a great place to stay if you wanna explore the city.

They didn't tell me i was entitled to breakfast. It doesn't show anywhere in my booking although I remember only booking accommodation that served breakfast. I asked them on the last day whether i was entitled to breakfast and they said yes - too late🙄

This hotel is located in the heart of Shinjuku. Just 200 meters from the Shinjuku station exit. Although Shinjuku has 200 exits so you have to be careful from where are you exiting. Neat and clean hotel and the room size is big enough going by the Tokyo standard. I was a solo traveler so there was enough space for me. Hotel staff is very helpful. Always ready to assist. You have the option to change towels daily or get the room cleaned everyday or you can opt for one. It’s very close to the Subway line so travel is very easy.

The location was absolutely fantastic. It was close enough to all the action without being too close. It is very peaceful compared to the chaotic nightlife just a few minutes down the road. All the staff are lovely and very helpful. Thank you to Kenji for helping me with my luggage in the middle of the night. There are 4-5 convenience stores within walking distance, a massive 24h drugstore just down the road. The metro station entrance is a 5 minute walk. All kinds of restaurants and eateries around and in the area behind the hotel. Also, a hidden gem cafe (coffee swamp) is a 5 minute walk. Highly recommend you check this out as it will likely be the only good REAL coffee you will get in Tokyo lol For a single person, my room was much more spacious than I expected and very comfortable with plenty of space to keep my luggage open. I appreciate that I got a view of the street which was nice. The room will be cleaned daily if you so desire. I did not use any of the shared facilities so I can’t comment on that. Honestly for the price point I can’t find a single fault and would definitely stay here again!

If I am being nitpicky then maybe the fact that the escalator direction changes randomly. But besides that, nothing.

tremendous value. super cheap compared to the other options available when i booked, but my room was clean and nice and a totally normal size for japan. quite close to shinjuku station. was able to check in after midnight. i wasn't lacking anything. all around a great option.

i think the hotel switches between heating and cooling with the seasons, so you might get unlucky and not have the climate control you want or need. my A/C was slow to turn on and the front desk was confused about whether cooling was active; fortunately for me it was. just something to be aware of.

Relatively slightly larger rooms than usual. Rooms were also clean with a well-equipped bathroom/toilet. Location is very good with lots of eateries and convenience stores nearby. Malls and Shinjuku station was a short couple of minutes walk away.

No elevator and only a small escalator to go up to the lobby from street level. Those with lots of luggage will find it a challenge as there're no concierge to assist either. Our stay was pleasant until the 5th and 6th nights when the air-conditioning broke down. As it was summer, it was pretty hot at night. WPU promised to refund the two nights to us, but we only received one night's.

The vibe of the hotel was so nice, the lobby is curated with cool furniture. The location is convenient and only a short walk to the train station and main hubs of Shinjuku. Really comfy beds - we had the best sleeps here! The room was really clean, well decorated and big enough for the 2 of us to comfortably open our luggage and walk around. They also supplied a fresh bottle of water every day which I thought was a really nice touch.

I badly hurt my knee just before our stay here and there is quite a big step to get in and out of the toilet, which was a bit inconvenient for me. This is not usually a problem for us, but worth noting for those who have difficulties with mobility. There is also only 1 escalator going from street level to the lobby of the hotel (from what we could see it goes in a downwards direction in the morning, and upwards in the late afternoon/night), and stairs next to the escalator.

WPU was in a great location in Shinjuku! 10 min walk to 2 train stations and a 15 min walk to the party streets of Shinjuku (Golden Gai etc.) Staff were awesome, multicultural, friendly and polite. WPU offers coffee, tea and light breaky for all guests in the morning and have a really cool lounge/hang out area should you wish to work or hang out. Stayed in a single room and had everything I needed, fresh towels and option for room cleaning daily. There was also DJ decks set up across the hotel that have live mixing randomly throughout the day - if you DJ ask the reception about this and you might be able to get a cheeky set in!

I wish the windows in the room could open up even a little to get some fresh air. Hard to understand how the aircon/heating works (obviously in Japanese lol)

The hotel was closed to Shinjuku station (closer to the Nishi-Shinjuku side), the room was big enough for me as a solo traveller, it was clean, price was great considering the central location. There was a mini fridge and a mini bathtub (I only expected just a normal shower head that's all) in the toilet. Front desk staff were friendly and I could put my luggage with them before I checked in (my flight arrived in Tokyo in the morning). They even provided a simple breakfast of croissants with Coffee or Tea. Nothing more that I could ask for, for the price point.

The location is perfect, easy to get to anywhere in Tokyo. The room is cozy and not too small compare to other hotels in japan. I especially have to thank the staff there - my airline lost my luggage and couldn’t get it back until the day I left Tokyo🙄 the staff there helped me to call the airline and also took my luggage to my room at 5am! They are all so helpful and friendly, definitely recommend to others and will be back again!

Great location to subway and other fun activities in the area. The room was clean and they had all the amenities available. The staff was friendly and sociable. Really would be reaching to find something to complain about. Beds and pillows were comfortable! We had a really lovely stay here and definitely would recommend it!

My brother and I are tall(he's 6'2" and I am 5'9") so the only difficulty is that the room is very small. Not really any space to put your bags somewhere and just a tight all around. That being said, this is common for Japan in general so that's not really the fault of the hotel, just something we don't prefer about most of the hotels in general. At least the twin beds weren't pushed together like a lot of the hotels. Really not a big deal, but something to keep in mind.
