The location was great - we wanted to stay somewhere close to everything but not too much in the busier areas… well Hamamatsucho is a busy business area but we found the access to the trains and monorail from Haneda airport simply perfect. Our room was small but perfect for our needs. Funny, but just around the corner us the Byron Bay Coffee cafe and we live in Byron Bay (in Australia). And yes it became our favourite cafe the next two days. There’s a wonderful Garden right next to the train station, you MUST visit this park, it’s 400 years old and simply majestic. Only 250 yen entry or $2.50 AUD and if you see it in April there should still be cherry blossoms. On the day we left for Kyoto we walked the 200 metres to the train station at 8.45am for our 10am Shinkansen to Kyoto. The train pulled in to Hamamatsucho and half of the people got off, so easily got on for the 3 station / 5 minute ride to Shinagawa. By 9am we were on the bullet train platform and had an hour to wait for our train. The transport system here works perfectly - we could have had an extra 30 minutes at byron bay cafe, but all in all we timed it well. The location of the Hotel so close to the Station (and the cafe) and the mini rail from Haneda, made the start of our journey in Japan so much easier.

Room was small, otherwise the facilities, etc were great… also considering other hotels in the area were double or triple the price the Bay Hotel was very affordable. The staff also spoke good English.

The staff were very nice and friendly and they helped answer some of my enquiry during my stay. Even though the room is quite tiny, the bed is very comfortable and big enough for 2 people to sleep. The location itself is quite close to Hamamatsucho Station and you can travel to other parts of Tokyo easily via the Yamanote Line. It is also close to the Tokyo Monorail, allowing you to travel to and fro the Haneda Airport with ease. There are a few convenience store (combini) nearby it; a 7-11 as well as Family Mart so if you need to purchase a quick bite those will be good enough for you. Last but not least, recommend you head to the rooftop of the building to catch a view of Tokyo Tower, especially at night.

It's not really a bad thing but there will be a construction at an adjacent building which begins from Nov 1st 2023 till Jan 2025. The hotel does inform the guests regarding this but this is just a FYI~

The hotel is what you’d expect for a hotel in Tokyo (very small). Some people don’t like that but we’ve stayed in Tokyo before and knew what we were expecting. Close to the Asakusa Subway line (which was very handy getting us directly back to Narita airport) and the Yamanote JR line for pass holders. The bed was actually quite comfortable which is surprising and the bathroom was bigger than your standard Tokyo hotel room bathroom. The shower was great! Good pressure and temperature. The hotel has a coin washing machine and dryer in the lobby which was handy (my partner and I emptied the lint filter because it looked like it’s never been done and our clothes were covered in it! After that it was perfect haha). There are also amenities in the lobby to grab and microwaves ect which was nice as we would sometimes grab breakfast at 7/11 and then walk back to the hotel to heat it up more and eat it there. Staff were friendly.

It wasn’t a huge bother but the light switches have a bright green light on them which shines at night when the switches are turned off. It’s okay for the switch near the door but there’s one right next to the bed so we had to cover our faces with blankets. Could just be me as well but I have sensitive skin and the body washes provided broke me out in hives which didn’t happen at any other hotels we stayed at during our time in Japan. No prob, just bought some at the pharmacy and used that instead!

The area of Hamamatsucho is extremely safe and the location of the Hotel is very close to the JR Rail station, less than 5 min walk. Dennys restaurant is opposite the train station within a 4 min walk to the property for a more western breakfast option. There is a 7 Eleven and Lawson also within easy walk less than 2-3 mins. Great little restaurants and bars are also at the door step within 200m. Room was made up daily with fresh towels, staff were friendly although an English language barrier for more complicated things like printing out return flight tickets ( 7 Eleven, 1 block away downstairs has a printer). The common food area was clean and well maintained and the hotel provided free toiletries, pajamas, tea, coffee and ice machine. Bag storage and umbrellas also supplied free of charge. Great for families, I would highly recommend to anyone traveling to Tokyo.

Beds were very firm and pillows are also very firm. I did manage to obtain 2 softer (relatively speaking) pillows. The air conditioner unit on the roof could do with cleaning as it didn’t look very nice.

Location was a 2-3 min stroll to the nearest subway station. Direct monorail to Haneda Airport also nearby. Can see Tokyo Tower from sky terrace. Hotel Lobby - small but cosy, quick check-in, staffs were prompt and helpful Hotel Room - small but expected for Tokyo hotels, clean and beds were so cosy

Great property in great location. Few minutes walk to JR or subway. There were lots of negative reviews on the room size. However we stayed in a room with double bunk beds. The room is huge with sitting area, hallway with bench and closet for luggage storage / clothes. The bathroom is large with double sinks ( great for travelling with family need to get ready at the same time in the morning. Surprise that the bathroom had a Dyson hair dryer which is another plus for people with long hair ( can dry the hair in no time). Another plus is there is a 5 stars bakery right next to the hotel. We went there 3 days in a row to get freshly baked bread instead of 7-11 for breakfast. Another great thing is there is washer and dryer on our floor. Our floor only had two units which means we didn’t need to line up or stay up the night to wait for empty washer or dryer.

Since the hotel locates in business district, there is no shopping area and limited dining options . The hotel didn’t offer luggage delivery services. We needed to go to nearest 7-11 to do the luggage delivery which is not convenient.

Great location for train stations and the staff were very friendly, allowed us to check in slightly early after a long 14 hour flight which was hugely appreciated. The rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable and the rooftop view was lovely at night. Facilities were great and this hotel was the perfect base for the first leg of our journey.

There was a point in our stay when for some reason our key cards stopped working, we had to go down to the reception 3 times to try to resolve this but the staff helped try to fix the issue - technical difficulty aside we’d definitely stay at bay hotel again

We chose this hotel because it's proximity to Hamamatsucho station for getting the monorail back to Haneda for an early flight. It was also a lovely stay, and we really enjoyed the rooftop terrace and access to lots of great restaurants for our final night.

The toilet on the ground floor is some kind of spa facility. That’s why they put a time limit of 15 mins per person xD Tea and coffee available for free downstairs. Close to the public transport station which is connected with almost everything. The room is actually equipped with almost everything despite the size.

Room is so small that it can be a source of inspiration for funny insta reels or tiktoks. They offer bigger rooms for higher price but they are also small anyway. No dedicated wardrobe but still some place to put your closes and hang a few items

So close to the monorail station, we decided to stay here on our last night before flying home so it was only 30 mins to Haneda. It’s also got good connections on the Yamanote Line loop so easy to get to all other parts of Tokyo. They have coin operated washing machine & dryer so we did all our washing before flying home for about £3.50 which was amazing. They have complimentary coffee so easy to help yourself & a small kitchen in the lobby. The beds, pillows, duvets etc all really comfy. We went for a twin which gave us more room. The rooms are small but still plenty of room considering we had 2 large backpacks & 3 suitcases. Overall brilliant stay, would recommend for ease of travel.

We had a room with a view of a tarpaulin on the building next to us, which was fine, we didn’t book it for a good view. But if that’s your thing then would make sure you add it to the booking or pick a room with a view.
