The hotel was very close to the Kanda station, which made getting to other parts of Tokyo easy. It's also close to a lot of Family Mart locations, which are great for snacks and getting money from the ATM. I didn't spend too much time during my trip in Kanda, but it was always easy to find the hotel again after getting to the station. Staff is courteous and is very patient with guests who are coming in tired from long plane trips and only know a few Japanese phrases.

There was some confusion during breakfast. Breakfast is served at an attached restaurant called Pronto, and if you buy meals beforehand you'll get a ticket to present at the counter. Each day had two set meals (Japanese style and Western style), and weekdays had egg sandwiches available. Not all of the staff was as keen on letting me take egg sandwiches for breakfast. It wasn't a bad experience and the food was good and I got my sandwiches, but I think it would help to have more clarity on what is and isn't covered by the ticket.

Had a great stay at this hotel, and with great service. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the bath/shower surprisingly spacious for a Japanese hotel. Very handy location, close to Kanda station, and you can walk fairly easy to Tokyo station or Akihabara too, whilst being a bit away from the very busy touristy areas, so you get the benefit of it being relatively quiet. I didn't get breakfast, but did have a good coffee at the café downstairs. Good laundry facilities too.

Wi-fi functional but not very fast. You may consider the rooms to be a bit dated and slightly small, but it was very good for a budget hotel in central Tokyo.

The property is located in Kanda, a station away from Akihabara. You can actually walk to Akihabara from the hotel. It is accessible via JR through the Yamanote line. The surrounding area is not very busy but there are convenience stores and restaurants near the hotel and the train station. The property offers drinks for free. A coffee and tea machine as well as ice machine are available at the lobby 24 hours. The toiletry kits and other amenities are also available at the lobby. The hotel offers breakfast for a fee but with limited choices for both Japanese and western. What I like about the hotel is the option to avail of specialty pillows for free, in addition to the regular pillows in the room. They are available at the lobby and you can take them to the front desk so they can give you a pillow case for it. You can also check-in early if the rooms are already available. The staff are very accommodating and room cleaning is available every day unless you opt out by hanging the do not disturb sign.

Buffet breakfast is not available. The beds are spacious though the room is not big enough to fit three single beds, hence the limited mobility inside. There are no free bottled waters in the room for guests.

It's in a great spot. About 4 minute walk from Kanda Station and a ten minute walk into the center of Akihabara. Kanda is one station between Akihabara and Tokyo Station. Rooms were small, but I don't mind that as I walk around the city mostly. Beds was comfy enough. They had a selection of pillows downstairs. Cafe people were really nice and the food was good, I didn't have the breakfast as I buy stuff from those bread and pastry places the day before.

There really wasn't anything I didn't like. Had a great time there.

Nice hotel, located next to Kanda station and 15 mins walk from Tokyo station. I found the room to be a little bigger than others that I stayed. It has all the facilities that you needed including vending machines and a cafe attached. The convenience store is across the street. Staff knew who exactly who I was when collecting keys from reception each time, which was a nice touch.

Only a few minutes from Kanda station, Konbini 1 minute away, nice staff, clean but not new and comfortable rooms with all what you need. The rooms are as usual in Japan not so big, no place for an open large suitcase, only on the bed, half open on the floor. But I was there only to sleep in the room, so I can deal with that.

The TV had a very light humming sound in standby mode and no off switch, but I fixed that by disconnecting it from the power over night.

Hotel was very clean and staff was very friendly and helpful. Room and bathroom were small but very clean and comfortable. Hotel location was very convenient for us because we traveled to Japan to run the Tokyo marathon and wanted to be near the marathon finish line which was less than 3/4 miles from the hotel. Hotel was also very close to main train lines that we used almost every day while on our trip. The breakfast being included in the stay was a very nice touch :-). Coffee at hotel restaurant, Pronto, was excellent! :-)

The bathrooms could use an upgrade. The rooms could use a closet or storage area to hang clothes. I was not able to unpack, and it was a bit inconvenient to live out of my suitcase for a week.

Hotel was exactly as described. As expected the room was small as was the bathroom, but clean and tidy. Quiet location yet only a 2 minute walk from Kanda station which is on a circular JR line which is good for main Tokyo attractions. In the Kanda station precinct there are numerous low cost restaurants which we enjoyed. In close proximity there are 3 Family Mart stores. Hotel staff were friendly and English spoken well. Breakfast was provided with our rate, which while was small was sufficient to get us going for the day.

While coin operated laundry facilities are provided at hotel the dryer is not very good for drying heavy clothes.

It was a great location, near Kanda station and on a main road, but very little traffic and no noise. Within walking distance of the Imperial Palace. Beds were comfortable and we could select our own extra pillows from a range. Breakfast service quick and in a pleasant Pronto cafe attached to the hotel.

I found someone's hairs on a towel, and in mid winter it was unusual not to have a heated toilet seat. Our room looked out on a wall, but otherwise fine.

PRICE: I'm so glad I booked the hotel months ahead of the Taylor Swift concert. I was able to get a really reasonable price for the weekend that the concert was held. Grand Central Hotel is one of the most affordable hotels near Tokyo Station. I like the area in general because it's not too busy and touristy. LOCATION: It's within walking distance from JR Kanda Station and from Tokyo Metro's Awajicho Station/Ogawamachi Station. There are nearby convenience stores, izakayas. The neighborhood is a combination of office/residential buildings so it's actually quiet on weekends and at night. Akihabara is within walking distance (for those who like walking). Tokyo Station is one station away. Other sightseeing spots such as Ueno is also accessible via JR Line. ROOM: The room where I stayed felt a bit bigger compared to a typical room. It could even be spacious enough for 2 people who don't have a lot of luggage. MATTRESS: The bed was quite firm. It's perfect for me because I like this kind of bed. ROOM AMENITIES: In addition to the usual amenities, I liked it that there were power outlets at the bed headboard. There was also a paper crane origami which I thought was really kind and thoughtful. STAFF: The staff at the reception when I checked in was very helpful. They were friendly and smiled a lot.

Nothing in particular.
