My two teens and I stayed for 10 days in the Rugged Twin. The space was big (for 3) by Japanese standards and the layout well thought out. The shower/bath space was wonderful and a nice way to relax after a long day. The staff were wonderful—kind, accommodating, and quick with English when I could not communicate in Japanese. The area was perfect, lively but also quiet, with plenty of dining options. The proximity to the Akasaka-Mitsuke station was great and made for quick exploring of other parts of Tokyo. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

The bed was larger than expected and was super comfortable. The pillows were surprisingly comfortable as well! The shower was the rooms highlight for me. A waterfall style shower head from the roof with GREAT pressure. Tokyo's water was surprisingly soft on your skin and hair as well. The windows were double glazed so the room was super quiet during the days and nights. The staff were extremely helpful and spoke great English and were patient with you if you know some Japanese as well! It was super close to a subway station as well so it made getting around Tokyo easy.

The room lacks a Smart TV. As a tourist who isn't fluent in Japanese, Japan's free-to-air tv is good to watch for a short time but can get old pretty quick. A Smart TV or a TV compatible with AirPlay would be great for tourists who have services like Netflix and want to watch their shows and movies during downtime. The air conditioning was lacking as well. As someone who gets hot easily, I like to have my rooms at a cooler temperature. The rooms AC didn't work well (it was functional but just not good) so we had to open the windows during the day to let the room chill with Japan's winter air. This was fine because we were out and about during the day but if we needed to open it at night, the sounds of Tokyo can be pretty loud.

- Location. You can’t be any more central in Tokyo than here. You can get to pretty much everywhere in a single subway stop using the Akasaka-Mitsuke station - Breakfast. You have the choice between 6 cooked options - perfect for the day ahead of lots of walking - Staff were very nice and polite and helped me with an iron and board when I asked - Peace and quiet. You are away from all the roads here so I didn’t hear traffic noise at all. The rooms are also sound proofed as I didn’t hear any other guests - Very clean - Bed was so good! The linen was like sleeping on a cloud

- Room type is important! My first few days I was in the Superior double room. Fantastic! Lots of space and well proportioned room with a decent bathroom. However when I left the hotel for Osaka and came back for 1 day I got the cheaper normal Double room and the room was small and depressing. The bathroom was tiny and cramped, the bed was significantly smaller. Even for just 1 person it felt uncomfortable. If you’re going to this hotel book the Superior double room (or any other higher graded room)

It was my sixth time staying here and the Hotel never disappoints! Great neighborhood with lots of restaurants and bars, good Metro Connection.

Mattress has become quite soft since last staying here. Not unbearable, but some harder mattresses would be nice for a longer stay.

Within 5 min walk from the metro station and surrounded by many shops (including a 711 in face of it). The staff are friendly and helpful and their WiFi connection works all good.

Not sure whether because my room was set on the 10th floor, the temperature of the water supply was always unstable during my shower time. Anyone bringing a big suitcase should check the room size before booking the room. I brought a 28-inch suitcase with me and was only able to open it at one corner of the room.

This was my second time staying in this hotel and it has to be the best hotel i stayed at in my ten years of travelling. It's my favourite hotel! It is just so perfect! Starting even before the check in. Multiple days before arriving at the hotel i received messages giving me directions to the hotel and offering me to store my luggage if i arrived early. Which is always really convenient and friendly to inform you of this service. The hotel is located about a 4 minute walk from the akasaka-mitsuke station. If you ignored the messages the hotel can be a bit hard to find. After you walked past the centurion hotel. You can locate the hotel on a signpost pointing to the hotel (hotel name) and a restaurant (Tokyo Oven). Which is integrated with the hotel. In the hotel i was greeted very friendly from the staff. Check-in was easy and fast. Hotel staff can speak limited english but good enough to understand everything. But can appear a bit unfriendly but that is clearly not the intention. In the lobby you can find a water dispenser and a very good coffee machine with very strong coffe. Which can be hard to find in japan if you are a coffee enjoyer. In front of the elevator is a ice machine where you can get some ice. Room card guides the elevator to your floor. The room with the double bed is really big for japan standards. Bathroom is very stylish and offers quality products and amenities. The toilet is also on the upper scale. With many functions. Shower is also pleasant to use. The desk is big and features some high quality tea mugs and glasses. Refrigerator is directly underneath it. On the desk there is a ipad which you can use to log in to netflix and watch on the tv. TV is also very big and at the footend of the bed. The bed is probably the comfiest i ever slept on. You just can't find something comparable to this. It's really like you are sleeping on clouds. You also get multiple pillows with plenty of variations and very comfortable sleepwear.

The only thing i dont understand is why the double bed room doesnt have clear windows and the twin bedroom does. If you want see more of the experience in this amazing hotel. You can watch a youtube video about this hotel. Just put in the name of the hotel and it pops up. I wanted to write more but i dont have space left :(

I stayed 8 nights. The location of the hotel is great and it feels very quiet as soon as you walk into the hotel. Bed was comfortable and the breakfast was good enough. When one night there were noisy and inconsiderate Chinese guests in the room across mine, staff acted swiftly to correct them.

Language barrier is an issue, even with the fancy translation device at the reception desk. There was a misunderstanding from their side on a topic which was impossible for them to understand somehow, despite translating it in various ways.

The hotel is in a quiet location in a lively neighborhood an easy 2-minute walk from the Akasaka-Mitsuke metro station. Our double standard room was small but comfortable with a good layout and all necessities including very nice soft cotton pajamas. The hotel provided vouchers for breakfast at the adjacent Tokyo Oven restaurant. We had five different options ranging from french toast to omelets and japanese style plates. Food was good. One evening we also had appetizers at the restaurant which were also quite good. We would not hesitate to stay at the Risveglio again should we come back to Tokyo.

Location was great. Easy to walk or catch public transport anywhere. Lots of food options around the area as well. Nice quiet building, amenities were basic but did the job, rooms were clean and reception was super friendly and helpful.

The lighting in the room was quite dark with only one single light in the middle of the room. Would have been nice to have another light source, besides turning on the bathroom light, to make it brighter.

Although the room was small it was just big enough for a solo traveler (at least the choice that I chose). The receptionist was very helpful with finding an address for an anime store and suggested other anime shops as well. Please don ‘t expect the receptionists to speak fluent English, however, we communicate without a hitch. As a tourist , I learn a few of the native words and that goes a long way. I appreciate the staff there for making my stay pleasurable. Also, great vegan ramen shop just a 10 mins walk and the train station is about 5 mins away. There are so many restaurant options. In addition, there is a laundromat that is open 24 hrs which is about a 15 mins walk from the hotel. Make sure you have small bills. Basically, the location is perfect as it is not far from Tokyo and other attractions. I would stay here again when I do come back in a couple of years.
